Chaptacular 2017 - Chainsaw Carving Event

#chaptacular #chairsawcarving #chairsawcompetition Chaptacular is a yearly event held in Jones County just a few miles northeast of Gray, GA. This event is off the beaten path, but well worth the day to travel and see these incredible chainsaw carving artist perform and show their works.
Chaptacular is touted as the second largest chainsaw carving event held in North American. Chaptacular was created in 2006 and held as as a fund raising event for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This year’s event had over 90 chainsaw carvers participate with the funds generated to support this very worthy cause.
On this crisp November morning we were able to interview a number of the carvers, watch them work at their booth, as well as experience the 1 hour Quick Carve Contest. The contest was amazing, watching these chainsaw carvers in action, taking a rough log and turning it into a piece of art in 1 hour.
As you travel through Georgia next year, enjoying the fall leaves, stop for the day at next year’s Chaptacular - a great cause and a ton of fun!

I wish I could have. John, the experience really something. So much to see and events are moving very fast. As a single camera operator, we were moving as fast as we could to get as much as possible. Large crowds when we attended and some area where we couldn't get reasonable video. Some welcome you to their display and welcome the camera film, others not as much. We tried to give a sample with hopes others would be interested in attending similar events. Appreciate the comment.
