For my wedding, I wore the Lisa Eldridge Luxuriously Lucent lipstick in the shade "Spirited Away", which I won in your Instagram giveaway back in 2021! It was my favourite part of my look, and all thanks to you
This is SO so special Jessica! 🥹💄 So happy to hear Spirited Away was part of your big day. I hope you'll enjoy that lovely shade for years to come with great memories rushing back every time you wear it! Thank you for sharing x
I used to love reading Pati Dubroff articles in Allure magazine back in the early aughts. She always had such great tips for fresh faced makeup. I specifically remember her saying something like “I never wear makeup to work, because I don’t want a client to look at me and think…yeesh, I hope she doesn’t do that to me!”. She also heavily talked about investing in skincare and not makeup, and taking care of your skin above all else, and that always stuck with me. Go Pati!
I'm absolutely loving the new printed props in place of the products you don't have at hand. So thoughtful and it adds a fun kind of wishlist feeling to the videos. So cute too!
Thank you so much! So nice to hear you're enjoying the new addition to this series. I always love making the cutouts for wishlist videos so I thought.. why not introduce them here too! 😄✂ x
Sofia’s bridal look was so elegant and classic! Loved the mix of cutouts and real-life products you already had in your collection to illustrate the products, Matilda 🥰
My wedding day makeup was as follows: prep with Weleda Skin Food Light, base was Chanel Water Tint in light-medium, Make Beauty Skin Mimetic concealer, a tiny touch of Hourglass Dim Light to set, Victoria Beckham Cheeky Pop in Miniskirt and highlighter in Reflect, Patrick Ta brow gel, NYX brow pen, VB Bitten Lip Tint in Amour, a tiny touch of brown brow gel from Elf on my lashes so they stayed curled, and lastly a heavy spritz of rose water with glycerin to set and give a ton of glow! My goal was to look so natural that nobody thought it was makeup… while also looking impossibly perfect. I think I did it 😂😂
I love when you do these type of videos, Matilda! It’s so great that Pati and Sofia have been candid about the products they used. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she’s involved with Nudestix!
Got my coffee, laying next to my dad and just started to watch this video, my dad's watching Turkish elections right now as it is crucial at the moment 😄🫶
My heart skipped when I saw that you tried the Chanel nail cuticle oil:) thanks so much for taking your viewers into consideration and their recommendations just as we rely on your recommendations! big love from me!💖💖
Thank *you* Samantha! Absolutely, I've made so many great discoveries through this community over the years. It's like having thousands of personal shoppers who know my style so well (sometimes TOO well haha, I have to have a lot of self control in this line of work! 😂😍) x
I love, love, love Nudestix! They're the 1st cream blush stick I've ever tried (got Sunkissed bcoz of your recommendation) & I think they might be my favorite cream multitasker! Loving Naughty N' Spice & Cherry Blossom Babe as well 💖
For my wedding I remember choosing the that spring's collection's best lip color from Chanel, taking it to my wedding makeup artist and keeping it in my bag at my wedding. I totally think Chanel is perfect to choose for special lifetime choices.
@@matildaonvideo I bought the Chanel Spring 2015 makeup collection and took ad images to my wedding makeup artist to get the same look with same products. It was amazing and I remember checking all SS2015 ad campaigns of the brands and Chanel's was the most beautiful one. My lipstick was called La Romanesque (50) Rouge Allure Velvet. I could not find it probably left it at summer house but it was the most beautfiul dark pinkish colour. Even now I see it was a good choice for wedding photos because sheer lipsticks on me never show in the pictures. Chanel is timeless. 🥰
BEB by Olive and June was my wedding Mani! Absolutely my favorite color. So light and bright, yet soft and plush. Almost give a natural french manicure with how it lightens the whites of the nail.
I can't recall makeup choices for either wedding day 😂. The most recent one was 25 years ago, which means a truly perfect eye pallet from Benefit: concealer, eye shadows, and a brush. Discontinued decades ago, alas. Mascara was most likely Great Lash by Maybelline. No earthly idea about blush or lip color, and I never wore foundation in my 20s or 30s unless I was on stage. Boy, have I made up for lost time lately. Six foundation formulas, bronzer, concealers, blushes in cream and powder, eye shadows in pallets, and cream single shades. So much fun learning how to apply, choose formulas, and care for the skin. I promised I would do makeup when masking was no longer required, and I AM CELEBRATING! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Bridal makeup is always so beautiful! What a wonderful start to my week! Love this break down! Absolutely love a fresh blush-y face currently, so this is totally up my alley! Thanks for the lovely video as always! 💗🫶💖
Love watching how you go into the details and breakdown the products and give alternative options that you use. Adding the Nudestix products to my list right now. Thanks for the lovely video ❤️
This is the first time I happened to have some of the featured products, so strange lol I also really like MAC's Stripdown and the mascara (so cute that you printed the wand as well)
I'm so happy to hear that! The mixture of brands was such a nice surprise for a lavish celebrity wedding (who else could wear three Chanel dresses and still be relatable through her beauty choices?!) 😄👏 x
My two absolute favorite Chanel products are the Rouge Coco Baume in Natural Charm (the perfect my lips but better color) and the Baume Essentiel in Sculpting (I also have Transparent). I love to use the Baume Essentiel as a primer instead of a highlight if I want to feel extra glowy, which really isn't that often since I have very oily skin. 😅 I have no idea who this woman is--I actually don't know a lot of the people you feature--but I love and appreciate all the research and effort you put into these videos! I do want to try that Makeup by Mario SoftSculpt Skin Enhancer next. Also--my goodness your nails are perfect!!!
My wedding day look is still being researched and informed by you and many other wonderful minimalist beauty creators. (but mostly you) Still waiting around on the fiance part, but the lip color and formula is most important!😂
are some of the products you dont have (but show) little paper cutouts? The Dior bronzing quad looks like paper! If so that's such a good idea- still showing a product without having to buy it
Absolutely Ashley! The cutouts are something I've made for Sephora wishlist videos for the past few years so I thought I'd bring the concept into this video too 😄✂️ x
i have both sunkissed and a (mini) picante but i'd never thought to layer them! definitely gonna try this the next time i put on makeup (thanks for being my favourite source of beauty news matilda!)
Absolutely Aratrika, you read my mind! That one was actually on my list to include if I'd shared a longer nail polish edit. Maybe I'll talk about more bridal colours another time! ☺️💅 x
Were you using cut-outs to show products you didn't have? If so, what a genius idea! 🧠 You really pulled it off. I really liked what you did with the mascara wand! 🙌👏💕
Thank you Sophie, glad you enjoyed them! I've made cutouts for my Sephora wishlist videos for a few years so I thought I'd use that concept here too 😄✂️ x
Lol my wedding was 22 years ago I only remember my lipstick. It was Aveda cream lipstick in the color Clay. It has since been discontinued. It was a lovely neutral pinkish brown with a hint of shimmer.
I wore Essie Mademoiselle on my wedding day and it lasted on fingers and toes through my honeymoon. Went to the store with all of my sisters and they helped me pick it out and my aunt painted my nails for me just like she did when I was a kid
This is so sweet Emily! Thank you for sharing. Funnily enough, I did a friend's nails for her wedding last year and she's an Emily who also chose Mademoiselle! 💅🤍 x
Such lovely video. At my wedding 10 years ago I was very concerned with styling my hair since I had just grown it from a bob. I didn't wear makeup at all at the time. My mother in law and girls at the hair salon applied a random lipgloss and and orangey blush. At 23 I didn't need much anyway. If we would do a vow renewal ceremony today, I'd do a red lip, clear face makeup ( no1 Chanel) Chanel no1 blush in lively rosewood on the cheeks , and a mascara . Waterproof chanel le volume or my new favourite l'oreal milion lashes balm noir ( it's softer formula it's kind to my eyes and can't stand anymore mascaras which turn crusty) . For my red , i'd probably wear a sheer matte red ( like mac new powder kiss blur slim stick) topped with my fave translucent red, rouge coco flash in 92 amour.
My wedding day was a full face of elf. 9 years is a long time in the make up world, if i was doing it now i think there are brands with much better base shades to suit my skin tone
I'm not sure unfortunately, and I haven't tried the Physician's Formula bronzer! I'm just holding a cut-out on screen so I could still show the product in the video 😄✂️ x
I know, it looked lovely! 🤎 But one contour colour combination isn't very inclusive so I wonder if that's why it was taken away. I hope they bring it back with more shade options! x
Luckily not Lily, the tone is fine on me when I'm using light layers like Sofia's makeup artist did! Interestingly Light Medium was the same shade used on Sofia too, but it's definitely very sheer and quite flexible. The lovely @amandascuteface on Instagram is a little fairer than me but wears this shade too if it helps to see it on someone else ☀️ x
I wanted to say that I have a really difficult time with bronzer pulling orange. The saie bronzer is so orange on me. But this has a cooler undertone. It blends like a dream. I use the light medium. Bronzer is quite the challenge to find the right shade.
