- Sleep is so important for concussion recovery, yet very few people do it well. In this episode I chat with Neurologist and sleep expert, Dr. Adit Margaliot about the importance of sleep on concussion recovery. Doctor Margaliot is a Canadian trained neurologist with a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders and further specialization in sleep medicine. She has practiced in both hospital and community settings. She now also practices Functional Medicine, an approach to treating individuals as a whole and addressing root causes of chronic illness. She views sleep as a very important component of an individual’s care and also recognizes the impact that other health issues have on sleep. She presently practices in Toronto, and serves on the medical advisory board for Complete Concussion Management

This is fantastic! I am 15 days out and only getting about 3 hours a day- it’s making things soooooo much worse. Sleep is everything!
How are you now? I'm 10 out
@@chellybabyme I’m much better- exercise, diet and ketamine
@@heathermariearmbrust Thank you! I have a doc appt in a few days. I'm sleeping too much.
Really frustrating trying to toggle between the really low audio of doctor concussion and the really high audio of the speaker. People who are listening to this without a concussion would find that troublesome. Consider reposting with some EQ adjustment. I can't listen anymore even though it appears to be needed content. Thank you sir
Agreed, audio quality is extremely important for our population to be able to absorb information, we're already exhausted!
I'm so tired of hearing about sleep apnea when trying to get information about sleep issues. Obviously if a person can't breathe they won't be able to do anything optimally. This feels like a cop out for more indepth critical thinking and research about sleep issues which could include things like narcolepsy.
What is the light you have mentioned a few times (oro light)?
Thanks for your great episodes,
I had a concussion 40 days ago and I got some symptoms like fatigue and sensitivity of noise and a little bit dizziness ,
When I am on my back using mobile phone, I feel fatigue and I feel like I need to leave the phone and rest my hand, can you explain that ?
I am so frustrated.
I can't sleep because my concussion caused me to have violent spasms and twitches all over my body and face and eye EVERY time I try to sleep. I tried Ativan but it makes me not be able to swallow or talk because my throat stops working. I am in hell
I had a concussion last year ( first and only one till now in my life). I completely recovered in 2 months ( no symptoms at all). Will I have any issues due to that concussion in future ??
Not likely!
