Dr. Robert Svoboda is the first Westerner ever to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. During and after his formal Ayurvedic training he was tutored in Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Tantra and other forms of classical Indian lore by his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda. In Vigyana Bhairav Tantra, Bhairava is the guiding god in 112 meditation techniques. I always wondered why a fearful and aggressive god like Bhairava is used as the guiding god. Shouldn't be a friendly and lovely god or goddess like the Buddhist tradition emphasizing Buddha as the guiding principle be used? What I learnt is when you're meditating you're facing the mind, which is the most dangerous and fearful thing you can face. For that reason, Bhairava is the guiding god until you realize that you're no other than the god consciousness, moving from the gross individual consciousness to higher consciousness. Actually, there is a specific verse (a meditation technique) in that tantric text. When you're fearful like facing fatal fear or fear that makes you really shake, chant the word Bhairava and he will appear before you and be one with you. It was one of the badass verses in that text.

Commenting my reply to the hate comment claiming that Robert doesn’t get to take Lord Bhairava’s name because he’s part of a “cult” spreading Jesus’s word, here because the user “darkprince” whatever has blocked me I guess.
You can not lure someone for bad with the divine’s name. Let people live and honestly if you resonate with any form of the divine, embody their energy and come back. So much of unnecessary hatred in you. And talking about Jesus, please care to see what our sages have said about Jesus. From Neem Karoli Baba to Paramahansa Yogananda. But no you wouldn’t know because you’re filled with unnecessary hatred. You’re no different from the lost missionaries who rarely focus on the real teachings. If only you knew 1% of Jesus or Ram.
