Thanks for the great video, keep making more. I germinated a 2593 on April 10th. I will be watching, hopefully I will get mine to grow as well as you do. I hope you get that 2500 pounder this year! Do you grow in a greenhouse or outside?
I’m going to try my hand at growing a giant but have to get it done in a raised bed my nabors around me don’t want to do anything about there pests and gophers so I figured this is my best bet to control that issue
I start all my pumpkin seeds by paper towel method...this year I'll probably start 100 seeds, so paper towel method is best for me, so this way I know what I put into pots will actually pop up from the soil a few days later...saves on wasting resources (soil/pots) if seeds are duds...so then you don't file down edges of seeds?
I dont file the seeds when starting in pots. I have done the paper towel method and I do recommend filing seeds with that method as it seems for whatever reason they don't want to naturally pull off in the soil
I have 2 Texas Blue Lacy's that are keepers of the garden They are masters at ridding woodchucks I made the mistake of using bone and blood meal one year they ransacked the garden
Joan , join a giant pumpkin club near you and they will help you out with seeds and know how .... just remember, these people put a LOT of time and effort and energy , And MONEY to grow these giants , so the seeds are not cheap, expect to pay between $25 to $60 for a single seed with great genetics, plus it financially helps both the grower and the club he belongs to .

Do a tutorial on how to get rid of woodchucks!
I have 2 Texas Blue Lacy's that are keepers of the garden
They are masters at ridding woodchucks
I made the mistake of using bone and blood meal one year they ransacked the garden
If you choose to live trap woodchucks and drop them off in your competitors patch
They can't resist a sweet melon rind
