One from a series of lessons in the Woodcarving Workshops.tv website by master carver Chris Pye in which he guides you through the carving of a traditional, European-style Green Man in Limewood (Tilia spp).
Here he looks at the important first pass of the 'bosting in' stage.
For the rest on the series and other video lessons, go to Woodcarving Workshops.tv - woodcarvingwork...

FINALLY!! A step by step clear explanation from start to finish. This is the FIRST time I have understood HOW to step a project down. I am a beginning foam carver and there is very little information on HOW to carve 3d items. Watching woodcarving seemed a good idea (high relief is my goal.) I have subscribed to your pages and will devour all your instructional material asap! simple demo of drawing, carving half, redrawing and going back and forth was a wonderful tip!! I cant thank you enough

Yes, indeed. You can see the full length project in detail and get the working drawing download by subscribing to Woodcarving Workshops.tv - link above. The cost is about a coffee and bagel a month and you can sign up and check everything out for a single month if you want.
