- South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem tells "Face the Nation" that her forthcoming book has been "edited" after her claim about meeting Kim Jong Un turned out to be false. She also said that she shared a story about killing her 14-month-old dog Cricket because "I want the truth to be out there."

It was a dangerous dog that couldn’t be trained, yet she kept it around her and brought it with her to neighbor’s homes. Her kid also asked about Cricket as soon as they got out of school, so it seems like they loved the dog. No excuse for this. She’s too unhinged to get that.

The real version of the story goes - she was hunting with a group of other politicians and brought her untrained dog along to "learn from" the trained hunting dogs. Well, Cricket didn't pick up bird hunting on that trip and chased away lots of birds then attacked 2 chickens after just being taught to go after birds. In front of everyone, out of a fit of rage, she dragged the dog to the gravel pit and shot it in its face. Then she went after the next closest animal and shot it, her kid's goat. She wrote the "nice" version in the book and tries to justify it, because she knew the verfified story would come out nationally if she ran with trump. So, she felt she needed to get ahead of the story, for obvious reasons.
I feel bad for her children. I sure as hell hope they don’t misbehave!

Why would any right thinking person ever tell this story to another person. Let alone put the story in print. The issue is Kristi Noem's judgement. I read the book for its audio version (including meeting Kim Jun Un), but no one called to my attention the words I wrote and the words I read were totally fabricated when I was reading them.

Not really. Dogs are considered to be adults from 1 to 2 years old. Unless you have been charged and mauled by a dog you have no idea of fear. I have scars from my ankle to my hip from German Shepard charging me on my bike, by the way was a multiple offender and was put down. Dogs can be both latent and sudden killers.
Growing up on a ranch in South Dakota would likely mean there were zero care centers for dogs nearby. I have no doubt that she shot the dog because she was genuinely afraid of the dog and its killing potential.
