i love videos like these because i love seeing sets that came out well before i was interested in magic. i was 4 when time spiral originally came out and i love seeing how the art style and game has changed over time. i imagine the rise of digital art tools plays a large part in the art shift over the years allowing more people to participate and put their style into the game. great video as alway my friend :)
I couldn't agree more, it's almost like going to a pre-release without seeing spoilers :D Totally agree about the art style, there's something really special about those earlier cards. I can't stress how much I appreciate your support! Thank you
Digital art in Magic has been around for quite a long time, but usually the artists that Wizards used to hire and commission were a lot more standout. A lot of the art now definitely feels homogenous but you can TELL when a certain artist shows up and lays their style on cards. Newer artists that have that touch are people like Wylie Beckert, Dominik Mayer, ect. There's great new artists but a lot of the time the art looks like you could slap any name to it. That's not the way older magic was but those old specific artists got very expensive to keep paying, so wizards pays a lot more younger digital artists and restricts the prompts to very specific ideas for normal sets. I love some newer artists but not many stand out to me anymore
I opened a box of Time Spiral this week too, the price is very sweet rn. Got Gemstone Cavern and Chalice of the void in the same booster, very good pulls in general, damnation and other stuff
Holy smokes, that's an awesome pull! And hell yeah that would be the best if they did that! Maybe after the next Lorwyn set (which might be next year I think) at least 2026.
I've made an insta page, if you're on there, you're welcome to follow! instagram.com/cardboardkiwi.mtg?igsh=MzNlNGNkZWQ4Mg%3D%3D
This is what opening packs should look like still. So nostalgic

OMG what an insane pack dude. Congrats, I'm a little jealous ;)
I feel you on the dry rough finish cards, unfortunately thats usually the US printers so I see my fair share of it.
Ahhh yep is that what is is, then the Japanese ones are the smooth ones?
Big Gemstone Cavern pull!
Hell yeah big Will in the house
Yooo this is high on my list. Recently picked up a box of Battlebond to check that off. Good luck!
Ooooooo I have a battlebond coming too :D definitely reccomend the time spiral if you can find one for a good price
@@CardboardKiwi I'll be keeping my eyes out. Beautiful pulls out of this box!
I think it’s a little bit after he hits the Akromas memorial and the nice black spell after had my crying
Yeah my estimations were pretty far off for this one ;)
Decent box in this set.
fun video as usual!
Love you Hydro
Maybe I'm weird, but I quite like the rough textured cards.
Hey to each their own :) I think for thumbing through packs it just make life hard. Once it's in a sleeve not too fussed :D
Good score...i paid 500 cnd for my box,...i didnt recoup my value unfortunately
Bugger! Good luck on the text one bro, thank you!
I pulled an Urborg and Yawgmoth outta these packs it is a great set I hope they do a Lorwyn Remastered
Holy smokes, that's an awesome pull! And hell yeah that would be the best if they did that! Maybe after the next Lorwyn set (which might be next year I think) at least 2026.
"I think that's a little bit"

LOL yeah I was way off where I thought that one was.
Nice hit 9:53 mate, back again watching your box openings!
Awesome to have you back mate
First box with new icon, hoorayyy
Hell yeah, had to go it. The AI generated cardboard kiwifruit just wasn't doing it.
HELL YEAH THE BOX I ASKED FOR!!!
YEEEHAAA TOLD YOU IT WAS COMIN' :D Just don't ask for a box of Alpha pls.
Epic
Do you keep all the cards you open on these? Or do you do some re-selling too?
Great question, I've sold a few and have A LOT more to re-sell. Then I keep a few that I don't already have or are "special" :D
Still the best remastered set
100% There's no competition. This one blows em out of the water.
New DP new me
Thanks Josef, I really appreciate your perceptive nature.
Why Boo me? I've done nothing wrong!
You know what you did
Yeah this is kind of awkward. Go back to the depths from whence you came pls ;)
W
Do Kaldheim!?
Great suggestion, I'm keen as to open a box :D
Not nearly enough artifacts 😢
Maybe the artifacts are the friends we made along the way?
@@CardboardKiwi Afterall, it is the artifacts inside us all
@@kiwi_artifacts are we just in the matrix?
Wheres the most valuable and least valuable segment at the end
Viewership always disappeared when that segment came on :(
Kiki do you love me
