Robbie’s solo makes this my all-time fave live version…love the 5/8 phrasing in the first half and the tasty way that he straightens it out….he said a lot in 8 bars of 3-pretty sick/gets me every time.
met rich williams in nyc in 2002 and had a very nice conversation with him that included me telling him how much i loved the band and how big a part it played in my early teen years. he asked what my favorite song was and i told him it might surprise him, lonely wind. he gave me a look and a nod and said, 'i'm not surprised at all, that's a beautiful song' and he started singing it. such a cool moment.
What a beautiful song and a great singer Steve Walsh no one could sing like Steve he was the best during his prime He's able to hit the high and the low anytime he wanted unbelievable singer thank you Kansas
Love this version. My only more favorite version than this one is the one on “Two For the Show”. This is just gorgeous. I’m so glad to have been alive to see this music in the 70s and 80s. There is NO BAND working today that writes music like Kansas did. These guys were the real deal. True musicians.
Truly lovely arrangement...Beautiful
