I REALLY LOVE DODGE!! come on guys almost all the factories switched to turbocharged engines,no muscular looking. i gotta tell you dodge is my 2nd favorite brand if not 1st after BMW just imagine BMW handling + Dodge design= BADASS
I bought a limited durango after reviewing many SUV on the market. It is a really nice SUV and really is a step about others in its class.
Make sure it stays on flat streets. I have personal ridden in a hemi Durango through the mountains it labored like a pregnant truck. Piece of garbage. Better to cruise the mall or McDonald’s trying to pick up single mother teenage girls.
you're probably better off with a Jeep SRT.

Well I've been corrected twice since then, it does have VVT and AFM. However it's also about 900lbs heavier than I thought it was in this spec, I gotta wonder where that weight is coming from. Still considering what was happening at Chrysler during development of this vehicle, I think it came out very nice.
0-60? Who gives a rats ass. It's not a hot rod, it's an suv. You want to go fast with that small Hemi? Drive one in a car. 5.7 is small (about 350 c.I.) Durango is made to haul things like people. Towing capacity seems to be more important than 0-60. You guys aren't to bright.

You guys have naturally aspirated 3.0 - 3.5 l engines, put into regular affordable cars that make 360 hp and 390lb torque ? Also can they tow 7,500 lbs without wearing out their components / overheating ?
That engine is a true beauty, they did great on the Durango.
The Challenger does not have "racetrack LED option".
I take these motors regularly to a large used car dealer in N Atl. You might spend a lot of time in a rental if you buy one of these.
Ok :-). If you divide your cost for fuel in Germany by 2 or even 3, that is what you would be paying in the states per liter. That contributes to America's obsession with bigger and more powerful vehicles. I can't wait to get a Durango. I don't think it looks cheap. It may not look as rich as a BMW X series or a Mercedes ML but then again they are almost double the price if not more in the states and don't offer twice the performance.
At 3 times the price. Durango has a 50/50 weight split and handles like a dream in spite of the iron block Hemi. The chassis is strait from Mercedes. The base bottom of the line Durango has a 300 hp six and gets almost 30 on the hwy. It can be had for just over 30k. Far less than the 210 hp Q5 or about the same price as a stripped 240 hp X1.
i don't get it... what is the point in these full size cars, they are just inefficient. I mean when you need to transport something you can rent a van, the engines are totally overpowered, they take away a lot of space and you can only take 6 people with you.
and in my opinion it looks quite cheap..
0-60 measured time isn't a driving impression, aka, opinion. 0-60 measured time would be a fact based on an electronic device calculating the elapsed time..... therefor it should have been acceptable to relay such information as long as you don't say anything about what you "think".
Durango POS I cant speak for the new ones.but ive rarely seen one that didn't break down every 5000mi.as a matter of fact my neighbor has a late model hemi Durango rotting in the backyard.the 300s the challengers.chargers and rams aren't bad.why is the duango a flaming POS.
hahaha stupid car.. 2013 Touareg with 3 liter diesel makes 0-60 in 7.5 ..wtf do u need a 6 liter engine... and the Touareg is like 16times more luxurious than this ..piece of c... plus the Touareg CAN go OFF ROAD...i doubt this can... how much for this...thing?
that is the exact same Hwy and City mpg, for the 2012-13 300 and charger SRT models. so if they put the 8 speed with the srt8 charger's and 300's for 2015, OMG, they will be the fastest and most fuel efficient american muscle car, chrysler has ever did. Saving up starting to day.

$45500 MRSP is not bad. But of course all you greedy dealerships out there will mark it up to around $56000.
this thing has to weigh at least 4500lbs and it has 360hp from a V8 with no direct injection, varriable timing of any kind, and it might have cylinder deactivation I'm not sure. 23 mpg is pretty good considering what it is...
Beautiful car. My dad owns the base 2012 model and loves it. Ive driven it myself and feels lovely, the V8 RT probably feels like a beast.

The fact the Chrysler missed putting all of that tech into the vehicle means to me that they seriously dropped the ball (fucked up). Now if only they'd put that 8-speed in the Charger. -_-
he said "sixty right there". But if the video seems to be in real time and I counted around 6 sec. They also seem to be impressed since last time the Durango clocked at over 8 secs.
This SUV has the best aggressive front , Why Dodge did not put this front end to the charger, a hood with a ram scoop on it, It will look the meanest car on the road.
what do you mean 23mpg yikes thats good mpg? my mazda 626 se v6 only gets 22miles per gallon! I would like to see a 6.1 or 6.4 LTR model 425hp to 475 hp sounds like fun !

They said in the video that they wanted all auto journalists to get a chance to test drive the vehicle before making their own impressions, hence the two-week long embargo.
Looking at the vid 0-60 seems to be around 8s. Can't see how that's a driving impression anyway? It does what it does. That's not an impression. It's a fact.
its actually the other around. The new m class is built on this platform. The grand cherokee debuted on this platform about 2 years before the m class moved to it.
I would only get this if the RT was no more than 34K... It looks cheap. All american cars look cheap. Point blank.
Only 360hp, and a ram with the same motor makes 395. That means there is some big power that should be easy to release in this thing. That's exciting.
The Durango and Grand Cherokee are both based on the Mercedes M class chassis. The GC is exactly the same while the Durango has been lengthened somewhat.
I think you guys shouldn't use the corvette launch clip in the beginning. It sounds like crap with that traction control limiting the throttle
Why do hemi is the 5.7L engine with a power of a German 3-3.5L? With that many litres bmw, mercedes, porsche or audi will make a space ship

If you want to go off road stick with the Jeep. The Durango is a joy to drive on the road. You will not believe how good it drives.
The Durango is certainly better looking than the Jeep. Looking forward to actual driving impressions, off road too please.
Everyone csn tell how it drives a v8 hemi and it sounds that good, looks that good, and it can tow that much its amazing
Hope the fixed the TIPM issue on these new Durangos. Google it and you'll see what I mean on the 2011-2013 models.

but murcs has a turbo and this doesn't and did you here the sound it makes it makes my challenger sounds bad
better than a tahoe and soccor moms drive those like its cool to get 14mpg
not gonna lie this car sounds better than the srt8 charger I think it rivals the jaguar f type in sound
For $55,000 in a tiny A car. There is a N/A 470 hp Hemi or you could go with the 8000 hp 500 cid Hemi.
Gm doesn't have 5.7's that is as fast. And about time Dodge puts some good sound behind that exhaust

Only people who think Chrysler made cars are not reliable are those that don't own one.
This and the Explorer are my favorites in the segment, but the Explorer cannot make the V8 soundtrack
As info, the 2011-2014 Durangos and Jeeps are based of the last generation Mercedes Benz M Class.
Why do all manufacturers assume that all SUV owners have a tribe of kids that requires 7 seats.
well im sure inquire in having more tan just kids in the vheicle; maybe their aunties, uncles sisters, brothers, frinds, etc.?
maybe that answers why more seats is a good idea =S
good point but to be honest I can't remember the last time I had more than 2 passengers. I would rather not pay for 2 seats and 2 seat belts if I don't need them, plus I would find the extra storage space much more useful.

if u dont need the 3rd row seating then go with a standard size suv like honda pilot, toyota rav4, bmw x-series

I don't know about that but I do know it belongs to Mercedes and they license it to Chrysler.
Because US manufacturers like to give people more torq at low rpms, but less ps at high revs.
Dodge, please do us all a favor and CHANGE THE ENGINE COVER on the 5.7l hemi? Its looks cheap and has since you first started offering that engine. I own an 09 Challenger and an '11 Durango and I'm a Mopar fan. That cover is Busch league on otherwise awesome cars.
Pull the engine cover off. You can get valve cover molds that look like the 392 molds for the 5.7.
every time 0-60 test make sure no body except the driver in the car your heavy Roman lol
