I've been using solvents for years, since 1979 - 🤔🤔😲 I've used the various versions of Plastic Magic and they seem to go between low odour to higher VOC (perhaps some suppliers have old stocks as older variants which were higher VOC). I think that the version you have has even lower odour now and still works well with styrene and ABS etc. I'm just about to purchase another bottle and trial their other liquid 10-15 second glue.
For something that's slower setting and very low VOC D-Limonene is okay too. But it takes an age to fully cure - horses for courses though👍
I find Tamiya, MEK, Slaters' solvents to be quite aggressive, I hardly use them now.
Earlier versions of Plastic Magic could cause warping - I built a plastikard and ABS loco chassis, left it out to cure for two weeks, then popped it away in a sealed box. Went back two weeks later and it had warped and twisted, despite being well braced (ruined, start again). But I've had no other issues like that with later variants of Plastic Magic etc.
In short the lower VOC/odour version in the square bottle is my go to solvent, Plastic Magic has been for, at a guess, 10-15 years in fact.

I had no idea glues got this far, last time I used glue on a model was in the 90's when I was a kid, messy and dried brown. This will make me get back into old fashioned building. Thanks for this.

I love both, and for reasons explained in Phil's review. Both stickies are essential for me. Job done.

My go to is Plastruct Plastic Weld. Has a brush, thin quick drying, & melts plastic. Same as Plastic Magic. With the same results as the Extra Thin bond.

Thanks Phil, will look into sourcing some here Australia. I think the longer setting time maybe a benefit across the board

tried looking for plastic magic after watching this review and it looks hard to get hold of in the UK and quite expensive. Probably best just getting Tamiya's Extra thin from HobbyCraft. lol

Just be careful using this stuff - if you finger is touching the joint you're glueing in any way, it can be a disaster as it will draw the glue out of the joint. Also, do not use it on clear plastic parts.

These are both great products I'm, looking forward to using both... I've used another capillary action glue before but I, can't remember what brand it was...

Phil, I've just bought some of this. Can I use it to glue normal kit styrene plastic and resin together, or resin to resin. Cheers for another great video.

    Hi Phil,
Any idea at all when it will be available in the states.
I tried to buy it from a couple of UK sites but I refuse to pay 30 to 40 dollars for shipping!!

Your review is obviously well-liked, but I struggled to see the differences you described. It played more like a sponsored presentation.

I like all the things you do and explain very detailed thanks a lot for all that I notices most of everything models are about war items of course I not asking for barbies I just think these would make young generation aggressive willing to combat I wonder if these are the kind of education they want to forward I won't say more because I don't want to get in to troubles but I think these are something to consider.

You'd do a lot better if you didn't talk quite so much - otherwise you're alright
