    You were definitely the first person to open up that DK Jr. I'm really surprised they don't do some form of replacement LCD with the amount of people getting in to these. Hi there. Amazing video. I did as you did in this video. I changed the caps with 25v 10uf and 0.33uf tantalum cap but the lcd is still bleak and dim. I changed the polarizer too. I happen to have 2 donkey kong DK52. When i change the lcd from the first game to the other i see all the sprites and when i put it back again in the first one the sprites are bleak and dim. So the issue is definitely with the pcb. How do i solve this pcb dimness? I change the caps and tried but still the same. Anything else that we need to troubleshoot to check if the pcb is all okay? I also changed the picafarad ceramic disc caps. Still the same. I left the oscillator as it is, as they hardly give up unless physically damaged. Could it be the problem of the motherboard IC chip? Please make a video of troubleshooting the pcb if possible. It will be of greaf help. Regards

    i just purchased a set of 16v 10uF electrolytic capacitors and replaced those on two of my game and watch units... and while it did fix the power issue (those units used to reset or have garbled graphics randomly), it did not fix the display (some of the images on the screen are blurred depending on what images are displayed, and the refresh rate is super bad)
    i still have my 0.47uF tantalum capacitors and all kinds of ceramic capacitors waiting to be delivered...

  • @JASTV-qd9md

    Excellent work. I have a game and watch that works well, but only if I press the unit together. In other words, there are no sounds or visuals, but if I put my finger on the front of the game, my thumb on the back and apply pressure, it works. I opened it up and cleaned it well, also thinking perhaps it just hadn't been screwed back together firmly...nope. Then I put some thin cardboard inside the unit and got partial visuals & sound. Something inside is just not touching something else as it should, but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

    • @DubiousEngineering
      @DubiousEngineering  Рік тому +1
