In the time you have owned this chateau you have both done a huge amount. Taking walls & vats down, mortar off of the walls and grouting, the sandblasting etc., it is a huge amount of work!!! You also built a gite and had a beautiful baby.....VER Y impressive and well done!!! Even with so much rain....well done you two!!
Thank you for your openess and candor. Like many people, I began watching chateau DYI YT channels during covid lockdown and I have unsubscribed to almost as many as I am now addicted to. I've realized that the defining factor in the ones I enjoy the most is the 'human' factor. Don't get me wrong. Even though I am an 87 widow, and New Yorker, I still thoroughly enjoy watching shirtless young men swinging hammers, moving rocks, etc. However, what keeps me coming back is the sense of sharing in the process, both ups and downs. I was pleased that you mentioned Mark and Amy. Their channel is one of my top favorites, a wonderful mix of warmth, humor and honesty. You couldn't have better role models. Oh, and you were right. You almost lost me by episode 6 of building those stairs. Looking forward to what comes next.
You don’t owe us any explanation, although I did enjoy listening to your chit chat. The stair case turned out very well and it did show the real challenges you faced with its construction. I felt the disappointment when the beam cracked. Your channel WILL build as you keep at it. Stephanie is a total natural in front of the camera; extraordinary, really. I’m addicted to chateaux channels. Love you guys. The love and respect you have for each other is obvious. I look forward to your vlogs.
Love to see your plans on the garden. What is your Chateau name? Staircase was too long but I just crochet when it was on. Are collecting art for the Chateau
Hello from Kansas City USA. You probably don’t even know where that is but it is in the middle of the USA. OK, I admit it. I feel terrible now, but I really did not like the staircase vlogs. But I’m”liked” the vlogs anyway to help you out. However I don’t understand people unsubscribing because you two are so nice and normal and your Chateau is beautiful. So hang in there you will be at 10,000 subscribers soon. There will be baby steps but you’ll be so happy that you stuck with u tube. And we sure appreciate you letting us into your life. Your life is some of our’s dream. (Yes me). ❤️
Haha! No need to feel terrible, if my own wife was getting bored (but failed to tell me!) i definitely understand others feeling the same. And of course we know where Kansas (and Kansas City) is *checks Google maps hurriedly*
Perhaps your apartment in Greenwich could be rented on a 3 or 6 month basis, recurring, whilst it is for sale. A proviso for the people renting can be that they only get a month's notice after 3 months of being there. Or something to that effect. You are both doing well anyway. It may be slower, but that isn't always a bad thing. Being comfortable first is 'key'. Best wishes.
Thanks. It is rented, which we are very grateful for. But we ideally need to sell it to release the equity to plough on with renovations. We may just need to embrace slow for a little while.
Thank you for your Q.A. You should visit Stephanie Jarvis (Chateau diaries) and get some good advice.. I am grateful that there are some of you chateau owners who want to share your experiences of renovating a chateau on youtube. What is important to me is whether I like the people I follow, otherwise the project may not matter.. So remember that you are just as important in the video as the project Chateau itself is. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who can get bored if I have to watch a whole video about renovating a bathtub or a staircase ;)) I generally like the situations in the videos where you make a fool of yourself and can just laugh a bit of himself..Hear and see a bit about your plans for the chateau. When you go out into the local area and show the places you think might be interesting to visit. You have definitely come a long way and especially when you have children, you know how much of your time it takes from a renovation project... Remember to also enjoy the time with little Noah. I look forward to more of your renovation projects and experiences in beautiful France..
Thanks for the feedback ☺️ glad you are (mostly) enjoying the vlogs (noted re staircase 😬). We are hopefully planning to visit a few chateaux in the autumn… watch his space.
I don't understand how people can be critical about you "expecting" the viewers to help pay for your renovations. It costs absolutely nothing to subscribe and like this channel. It is free entertainment for us and helps you financially, even just a little bit. What is the harm?
Only someone who has never done renos would make such a ridiculous comment about the jobs which you have completed. Of course you have accomplished a ton of work on your chateau. Its all lovely what you have completed. It all takes time and bucket loads of money.
That would be good 😌 There is a section on our website where people can fill in a form if they wish to volunteer, but so far we’ve only had one tentative enquiry.
Thanks for sharing your journey with the world. I have to agree that the staircase was very boring to me too. As you progress you will learn how to make the videos more interesting. When it comes to footage you have to learn how to 'kill your darlings', it's hard every time, but necessary to create a good show. You'll get there!
une hypothétique garden partie en invitant votre tout first premier first first fan? j'suis qu'a 2h d'Igor (un pote du Périgord ;)) , plus sérieusement bravo et bonne chance à vous
Whats y'all blood type ? Are y'all on medications ? How about your bathroom habits, are you regular ??? Good grief !! It amazing people really think it's their buisness to ask about money made, money borrowed, etc etc that is absolutely 💯 % YOUR BUISNESS NOT THEIRS ! Buy your own home, etc, and renovate how you want to. Use YOUR FINACES and let everybody in on your buisness ... Do people have anything that is sacred anymore ? Or is it EVERYONES BUISNESS ??
We are very fortunate to have some amazing tenants who have been renting for a year which means we aren’t losing money. But we really need to release the equity by selling so we can plough on with renovations, including replacing the roof! 👀
@@thechateauadventuresCan’t you borrow against the equity? I’ve been told to never sell real estate, you can always use it as collateral and build up . Especially a flat in London, with such an awesome views. That flat will always appreciate more than any property in France, unless it’s apartment in Paris or Côte d’Azur.
@@sanyaomerovic1659 we’ve looked at options, but in France it seems extremely difficult to get a loan unless you take the loan out at the moment of purchasing a property. They seem very reluctant to lend otherwise, which seems non-sensical but that seems to be the French way. The ideal would be to keep the London flat, but we want to make progress with renovations and seems like the only viable option currently. 🙁
It amazes me that people think you should create these videos and they should enjoy them for free. Do we go to the movies for free or watch cabel TV for free?

Sorry about the stairs 🫣😬

Stephanie really is a natural! Nicole, Noah and I watch the chateau diaries most days.

Thanks. Will ensure we incorporate those things in future episodes. Garden plans should be shared soon 😊 glad you made the most of it 🧶
So interesting, thank you!
You’re welcome 😊
Your candid conversation about realizing your dreams coming true is quite enjoyable! Thanks for sharing!
✨🌞✨
Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Thanks for being so open and informative. I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work!
Thank you ☺️
Thank you for an interesting chat. You are so brave to follow your dreams.
Thank you. ☺️ it’s definitely not been an easy ride but it’s quite the adventure.

Admittedly I didn’t actually watch the staircase videos, but I did keep the video up and running in case it helped the channel.
That’s very kind, thanks ☺️
I think you're doing a great job with the Chateau and your channel considering it is a fairly new channel. Hang in there!
Thank you 🙏🏼 we will! ☺️

Keep on the great work.

Us neither 🤷🏽♂️ we really appreciate the opportunity to raise funds through UA-cam whilst hopefully sharing a story that people find entertaining 🙏🏼

In terms of chateau owners which do UA-cam, which chateaux are close to you?
I think the closest couple is Ed and Anna who live near Bordeaux.
Honestly I lost interest in your channel. But I found this an honest interesting video.
Glad you enjoyed this one ☺️
