I could smell that Joker review from a mile away simply because if James pulls up a review so vague that it'd be impossible to actually pinpoint the movie first guess, it's gotta be Joker
it took my 6 and a half minutes until I realised that "Maso's Score" was how many questions he'd got right, not his implicit rating of the movie, somehow deduced from the tone by which he said "oh right"
I just love how committed Matt and Ben are. And also how free you guys allow them to be with the editing. It certainly makes everything funnier with their touch.
The Two Towers reference reminds me that while walking to the cinemas to watch Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch, I fell in a hole a hut my leg very badly. I went to watch the movie with the pain, and it wasn't the worst moviegoing ecperience that I've gotten so far. It was pretty nice, as Anderson's films usually are.
My buddy dislocated his thumb jumping the railing (instead of just going down the stairs) to get to the exit and show off a bit. He decided to pop it back in himself, so used a wall and pushed his fhumb back in...as he screamed in agony and collapsed (we caught him) actually blacking out for a second. You aren't Rambo, kids! Learn what real pain is!
I mean… You guys could do ‘sequels’ (ex:sequels that were better/worse than the original) Or maybe musicals, Christmas movies, video game movies… Thanks for the great content!
Never thought I’d wake up throw on a mr Sunday video while I get ready and have to stop abruptly mud eyeliner because my wife plays fairy godmother in shreklesque and mason just started plugging the show during a random quiz
I would be keen on a Caravan of Garbage of Pan's Labyrinth to be fair. It's an exceptional movie with some really weird bits that you can get into. A little bit of trivia to help you out, the original title "El Laberinto Del Fauno" translates into English as "Blue Harvest"
You could do a "Guess The Rock Movie" for the week that Black Adam comes out. To throw off Mason, you can sneak in reviews for movies about Alcatraz (The Rock 1996, Escape from Alcatraz), rock music (Spinal Tap, School of Rock), and even giant space rocks hitting Earth (Armageddon, Moonfall).
Are we gonna talk about how Mason said "rhythm" and James misheard "river" and the metaphor just continued on like nothing was wrong? 1:02 legit thought this was Harry Potter. 16:54 all hail Matt.
It’s called ‘yes and’ improv. You just agree with everything the last person said for humour. My favourite was when Maso said ‘swamp glue’ and James went ‘yeah yeah swamp glue, I mean he didn’t live in a swamp but yeah swamp glue’
My mom rented Andre the Giant a car one time, and apparently he was a pretty good dude. Or at least, he was nice to the lady who was working the counter at a car rental place in an airport, and that seems like it's worth something, y'know? So, I choose to assume that he was, in fact, a pretty good dude.
I called it! The term 'Fantasy movie' can literally apply to anything and I'm amazed James didn't get more out there with it. We still haven't seen one where the review is for canned ham. Also when's Maso gonna be the questioner?
Joker is actually a fantasy movie. You didn't specify high-fantasy, and they do mention giant rats or something on the news in that one shot of the news.
15:11 I like the idea that every joker origin from now on has to involve shooting Robert de Niro. Like every time that the comics try to retcon in a new potential origin for the joker? it has to involve him shooting de Niro. When The Batman gets to whatever sequel it is that they bring back the guy from eternals to officially be the joker outside of a cameo? he has to shoot de Niro. Joker :Folie a deux? Even though he already shot de Niro has to do it again. Maybe Murray has a twin brother? I don't know. But that should be the new rule
For the record, by all accounts Andre the giant was very sweet and kind, also much more intelligent and wise then his character in princess bride would suggest. RIP
I'm always impressed by Manson's ability to get any of these, even when it's in a really confined space, but WOW, this just floored me. The answer could be any fantasy movie ever made and he still got the majority of ones that weren't a straight up trick. "Warcraft" was the tipping point for me. Getting that from the context provided was basically super human.
Listen...as someone who tripped on an escalator and impaled my knee on the spikey bits of said escalator's step while going to see the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie...you're goddamn right I saw it with a blood-soaked leg and flip-flop I paid for the ticket I'm no coward. Medical bills be damned.
I can’t stop thinking about Joe Rogan coming home from a long day of watching guys grapple each other on the ground and popping his copy of “Snow White and the Huntsman” into the DVD player.
It’s really funny that they brought up that hypothetical scenario about the Two Towers because my mom loves telling this story about when she and our family went to see LoTR (she can’t remember which one it was, and I was too young to go). My oldest sister was passing her this big soda cup they were sharing, but my sister passed it while only holding the lid, which then caused the cup to drop and spill _all over_ my mom’s lap. Instead of getting up to try to clean herself off in the bathroom, my mother sat through the rest of the movie _covered in soda_ because LoTR was “too good to miss”. Luckily, that experience did not incur medical expenses like stepping on a nail would. 😂
Might I suggest "Pre-MCU Comic Book Movies" as a topic for this series? Doesn't have to be just Marvel, but it does need to have been made before the Iron Man/Hulk movies.
Do one for High School Musical films where you just keep going between the films like 5 times each and Mason gets super confused. Bonus: throw in Sharpey’s Big Adventure - that movie that I’ve never seen and no one remembers. No chance Mason gets that one right.
Missed opportunity to show footage of a hobbit actually getting a nail through their foot...I think it was Sean Astin? When he entered the river after Frodo in The Lord of the Rings the First One Fellowship Kicks Off
Was having a mediocre day until I open UA-cam while on the toilet and see another Mr. Sunday Movies guess the movie by the *blank* review… Now having the best day of the year lfg!
The only reason I was aware of the ‘67 version of The Hobbit is because Dominic Noble did a video about the whole rights debacle and a brief summary (of a movie shorter than his video) last year. The situation was pretty ridiculous, tbh
I'm sorry but I will @ you James.... YOU HAVENT SEEN PANS LABYRINTH?!?! What an amazing confession, you're missing out on a modern day fairy tale masterpiece fella. Fully recommend if you ever get chance 👍
13:20 did you know during filming the first LOTR film that on one take while Sean Astin was walking along the bank of the river he had to get emergency surgery for the sharp something he stepped on? Also that viggo Mortensen broke his toe kicking that one orc helmet and it was a raw real reaction
bit early, but for Halloween I would like 'films with witches'. I think there are enough that Maison would struggle but not enough that it would be impossible
I FINALLY WON ONE! Every time you two muppets do this I sit dumbfounded i front of my screen thinking how on earth would anyone guess that. Well guess what! I got Clash of the Titans, I got Pan's Labyrinth and I didn't need 15 hints to get Willow. I HAVE FINALLY BESTED MASO in a stupid quiz. Fair play on Dungeons and Dragons I would have never got that one.
How about one involving Disney animated films? Should be plenty of material there and you could set it for when Strange World premieres in November. One final note: Mason definitely needs to get James a Ghostbusters 2 poster for Xmas
It wasn't until they said "how many did he get" while showing 9/16 that I realized the "Masons scores" shown weren't a humorous scoring of how good the movie was.
Do the Dark Universe, but with the actual movies that inspired them to do it, like the 30's Frankenstein and the original Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Werewolf with Lon Cheney, Dracula, with Bela Lugosi, Then throw in some off brands like Abbott and Costello Meet the Wolfman.
You should do another horror one next month cause it’s the spookiest time of the year, Australian Tax Time.
I know when tax season is in exactly 2 countries lol
I'm in Australia and I did my tax two months ago.
@@MrMarkb68 and we’re all proud of you for not procrastinating
Knowing I'll get a large return helps. :)
Paying extra tax each week is the trick.
wait wasn't tax time a month or two ago? I did my stuff and got my return pretty quick. Got a really nice return as well
Thanks, Editor Matt! Your willingness to put your health 2nd is appreciated
Our (my) entertainment always comes first. 😌
You’re welcome 🙂
Thanks Matt, for great editing!
I’m
I completely forgot about the Joker bit somehow that really caught me out
Love aragorn saying "we are doing the first lord of the rings, Frodo". More great editing from Matt
They actually did it. That just the Australian version 😃
I could smell that Joker review from a mile away simply because if James pulls up a review so vague that it'd be impossible to actually pinpoint the movie first guess, it's gotta be Joker
I got it from ‘I don’t hate the film I hate the fans’
Can also apply to Rick and morty etc
RICKRAPTOR
I always spend these videos waiting for the “no it’s Joker” moment.
Same
@@danrandlehandle don’t get me wrong, the rest of the video is good too. But that moment always gets me haha
This one felt pretty obvious.
it took my 6 and a half minutes until I realised that "Maso's Score" was how many questions he'd got right, not his implicit rating of the movie, somehow deduced from the tone by which he said "oh right"
Ok this made me laugh
Yeah, I also caught on way too late (but I won't say how late) 😅
It took me 3 of these videos to come to this same realization 🤣
This video improved my day, thank you Mr Saturday and Mr Sunday
Feel like Mason is more of a Mr Monday
@@MrMegakickass how dare you, Mason is a Thursday man if ever I saw one!
I just love how committed Matt and Ben are. And also how free you guys allow them to be with the editing. It certainly makes everything funnier with their touch.
For some reason when I first read this I thought you were talking about Matt Damon and Ben Affleck 😂
What kind of hole did you fall in???
It’s pretty wholesome, weirdly, that Wes Anderson can make a movie nice enough that bad leg pain doesn’t make the experience negative
Do horror next! Make sure to include Joker because it shows the horror of society
Do spaghetti westerns next! Be sure to include Joker because it highlights the spaghetti-like complexity of western society
what time to do your taxes?
Do post modernist dance films next and make sure to include Joker as it depicts the flaws of society through a passionate dance of visuals.
I mean…
You guys could do ‘sequels’ (ex:sequels that were better/worse than the original)

Thank you, Matt! I also respect James' insistence on spiting the Ghostbusters II fandom.
I would be keen on a Caravan of Garbage of Pan's Labyrinth to be fair. It's an exceptional movie with some really weird bits that you can get into. A little bit of trivia to help you out, the original title "El Laberinto Del Fauno" translates into English as "Blue Harvest"
8:18 I hereby cast my vote for you guys to do either a Caravan of Garbage for the 2 D&D movies, OR, a commentary for the 2ND one.
Hey this happened!
I KNEW THAT SECOND TO LAST ONE WOULD BE JOKER.
Can’t believe Mason forgot there’s always a Joker in these smh
I don't think I've ever heard a worse Rodney Dangerfield impression. Terrific work!
Are we gonna talk about how Mason said "rhythm" and James misheard "river" and the metaphor just continued on like nothing was wrong?
1:02 legit thought this was Harry Potter.

I can’t even say how happy I am that you guys are back 😂 I could listen to your nonsense all day
I’m glad I’m not the only one.
You know, I could have died a happy man without ever knowing about the existence of "Shreklesque."
You took that from me.
Nah you’d love it
Shrek got that onion booty
Shrek is love, Shrek is life
Expected Joker the whole way through, and knew it as soon as James read the review. I was shocked Mason had forgotten this is how the game is played.
That’s awesome
1:25 That review went hard and I'm crying 😭😂😂
Hey! Try to guess it with the live action Disney remakes! Most of them suck so the reviews would be funny!
Note for the editor, every time the boys mentioned "the Bakshi LOTR" you actually showed images from the Rankin/Bass Hobbit film.
THANK YOU! I was looking for someone to finally comment on it. To be fair, they might have just been trolling us. Who knows.
These episodes are great, you ain’t lying.
I called it! The term 'Fantasy movie' can literally apply to anything and I'm amazed James didn't get more out there with it. We still haven't seen one where the review is for canned ham.
