H.W.ans. alveoli are balloon like structure which have thin walls and have lots of capillaries in it and as they are thin high in number which provides large surface area which maximises the exchange of gases

    1) one cell thin walls[easily diffusion can take place]
    2) balloon like in shaped [ more n more amount of O2 can be utilized for respiration
    3) rich in supply of blood capillaries.

Alveoli designed to maximize the exchange of gases because rather than one big alveolus, millions of alveoli can increase the surface area for gaseous exchange and transportation of O2 can happen efficiently.

    HOMEWORK ANSWER:-
In our body there are millions of alveoli and not just one big single alveoli this increases the surface area for gaseous exchange so that more oxygen can enter and can be transported to different parts of body.
Also alveoli contains blood capillaries for the diffusion of gases easily.

Alevoli is a sac like structure where exchange of gases takes place. It is surrounded by blood vessels where oxygen and carbon dioxide is exchanged.During this continuous process carbon dioxide is given out. It helps in increase the surface area.

alvioli are small sac like structures maximised in no. to increase the surface area for gaseous exchange they are heavily supplied by blood vessels and have thin walls for change of gasses in blood and alvioli

Alveoli are balloon like structures which are present at the end of bronchioles. They are millions in number and they are thin walled which contains blood capillaries which help in the diffusion of oxygen. This helps to maximize the exchange of gases.

    I have a doubt.....
So why do the exchange of gases are simultaneously in alveolus but not separately if the co2 and oxygen are coming one by one??

    • @parth1290
      @parth1290 Рік тому

'Each gas acts independently and diffuses down its own partial pressure gradient'.
A partial pressure gradient is the difference in the concentration of a gas in a mixture of gases, in which the gas is at a higher pressure in one location and a lower pressure in another location. A gas will diffuse from a higher pressure to a lower pressure down the gradient.
This is how oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse into and out of our bodies.
Gas exchange occurs in the alveoli (air sacs) in our lungs, which contain capillaries. The partial pressure of oxygen is greater in the external environment than in the capillaries, so oxygen diffuses into the capillaries. The partial pressure of carbon dioxide is higher inside the capillaries than in the external environment, so carbon dioxide diffuses out of the capillaries.

Hw: There are millions of alveoli which increase the rate or surface area for gaseous exchange. These alveoli are supplied with blood vessels which help in transporting of gases around in the body.
Thank you mam for covering this topic in such a short video. :)

Alveoli have thin walls and a close network of blood arteries to allow gaseous exchange between blood and alveoli. They have a balloon-like structure to maximize surface area in exchange for gas.

    Hw answer
The bronchi within the lungs divide into smaller tubes called bronchioles and finally terminate in balloon like structures called alveoli the alveoli are made up of thin moist membranes which are richly supplied with blood and provide a very large surface area for the gaseous exchange
