Introduction to respiratory system anatomy

- The respiratory system is responsible for the exchange of gases between air outside the body and blood inside the body. It begins at the nose and runs to the lungs as branching tubes ending in microscopic alveoli. The lungs are filled with air and emptied by movements of the walls of the thorax and the diaphragm translated onto the lungs by the pleural membranes. Let's have a visual look at this anatomy.

Hi Professor Sam. Thank you so much for all your fascinating videos. I’m a retired nurse but it is so long since I trained and practiced that I have gotten really rusty and I am loving going through your videos and reminding myself of the wonders of the human body. Thank you
I was following you since I was in high school and now I am a medical student Grade1
I'm in my respiratory module in med school right now so the timing of this video was apropos. Thanks so Dr. Webster.
What is digestion
Another informative well presented demonstration, well explained for us none medical people who are still interested in how our body's work, keep up the good work.
Fantastic video. Love your presentation style and content. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing info free of charge..!
Outstanding introduction. Sam Webster is a great communicator and always brings his infectious enthusiasm to every presentation.
Best demonstration video on entire youtube
One of my favourite presenters on UA-cam in any category
The glove bottle demonstration was great. I struggle to teach my students the principle at time and was hoping to make a prop....and this is a winner.
22:27 Yes, I'm not even a med student, and your explanation makes absolute sense.
Oh my god! I am an EMT in training and the whole pressure increasing and decreasing has never made sense UNTIL I saw that model. Thank you!
You’re an amazing profesor !! You’re a blessing to all medical students

Thank u doc
We need more and more clincal anatomy in relation with anatomical structures
So we’ll appreciate if u do that for us(clinical anatomy)
Thank you 🎉
You are great
The mostly posterior placement of the volume of the lungs is helpful to many creatures when they're in water too deep to stand in with their heads above the surface.
First view sir ❤ love you from India ❤
thankyou sam this was amazing and very helpfull would appreciate if you make a video on physiology part, lung volume, ficks and boyles law and V/Q matching etc because you teach very well sir.
you are so cool, thank you for these videos (I am in nursing school) lol
Great video, thank you for sharing. Would you be so kind to share the link to this model for purchase? This model features are far beyond what is sold on many online stors from and most gpi locals stores.

TOP
there's a question does the lungs and diaphragm connected to each other? and why?
The diaphragm is the base of the lung and is not connected to it... Because the lung is a membrane that needs to be compressed by muscles, so there is a diaphragm that presses on the lung to get air out
Didn't mention olfaction...
