Hi! I am from Ukraine and I am encouraged by your support for us! I want to learn at least a little Lithuanian language! You are our brothers and sisters! Thank you!🫂🇺🇦🇱🇹
I'm very happy that you started a channel to teach Lithuanian! I'm a Lithuanian and I am very happy that there is a person that wants and tries to teach Lithuanian!
@@spokenlithuanian7186 And I'm very Thankful for you, because I have a friend that speaks English only, but he wants to learn Lithuanian, so this will help a lot for him!!
i accidentally typed "Lithuanian part 1 " and saw your video ,this is the most organised and well understandable language tutorial video ... aš esu labai laimingas,ačiū.
Thank you for this! I'm Lithuanian on my dad's side, family fled Lithuania during World War 2. I grew up saying things like Labas and Sveikas and eating Lithuanian food (I especially love Koldūnai) but the city I live in has no Lithuanian community and even my full Lithuanian relatives typically just speak in English. I've been taking the language more seriously the past couple of years, and most online guides begin with deep dives into grammar and things like that, which I find quite daunting, especially with Lithuanian's 7 cases. I've found that the easiest way for me to learn is just by repeating phrases the way native speakers say them, and these tutorials provide exactly that! Ačiū labai!
Your entire comment is exactly my situation as well. I am hoping to surprise my dad and other relatives by secretly learning as much as I can. Finding this channel made me feel like there was a chance for me to learn without being able to be surrounded by the language. Thank you!
Lithuanian is a sister of ancient Sanskrit language, which is the language of my ancestors. Being a Sanskrit speaker myself, I find Lithuanian extremely easy to learn and understand.
Niiice! I always wondered about the connection between Sanskrit and Lithuanian. Does it sound similar when you speak? I assume you are from some part of India right? Thanks for your comment! :)
@@spokenlithuanian7186 Sanskrit is not spoken widely anymore. Its status is like Latin is to western Europe. That said I learned Sanskrit for 3 years at school and the grammar and words are very similar. Sanskrit turned into various languages in North India and influenced and became part of languages in South India. So it feels like a person from the Indian subcontinent could easily pick up Lithuanian at a basic level quite quickly. I'd love to know about the common mythologies between our countries.
My other half is Lithuanian. Her English is okay, but we’ve been together long enough now that I am trying to learn her language, so I can make things a little easier for her to talk. Lithuanian is the hardest additional language I’ve ever tried to learn.
You will learn the spoken Lietuviu better than the written one and the grammar. I think speaking Lithuanian and texting in English with her would be pretty goood
I have new neighbours from Lithuania. They moved in half a year ago and are really the sweetest. I want to surprise them and make them feel at home in my country. Thanks for giving me the tools 😊
Finally a good Lithuanian course, I am half Lithuanian and half Danish and have always wanted to learn Lithuanian, but have had difficulty finding places where I could learn the language. so it's really cool that I now have the opportunity to learn it from your channel.
Amazing job!!! I’m a medical doctor and I have been inventing study methods for medical students for more than 12 years and this method is really effective and well designed! Congratulations!
Im mexican and just started a relationship with a Lithuanian man. We both speak english, but I want to surprise him learning his natal language. Thanks for this lessons! 🙏
Tu esi labai pratingas… i am very grateful to you.. you have started a great work.. its super easy with you to understand.. thanks a lot.. i will watch and understand all videos in line
I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for your videos! As a Lithuanian-American I find it really difficult to find resources to learn the language of my heritage and I am so grateful to you for sharing your knowledge!
I will go to Lithuania for my internship only for 2,5 months and I wanted to learn a little bit altough everyone told me that Lithuanian language is so hard to learn. When I saw the language I thought same, but you teach it very easy and basic! I am so glad that I found your channel. Labai Ačiū !☺
Happy to find this channel. I’m from Colombia and I’ll be in living in Lithuania and I want to learn everything to merge myself in the culture and not be just a foreign more 😅

i love this! i am half polish half lithuanian but i never learned lithuanian language. I've been in lithuania many times and I'm trying very hard to learn this language :)
im so happy you made this channel to Lithuanian. I have a bf who speaks it and i was desperate to learn it to surprise him so i could make him happy. TYSM!
High respect for what you do. Such a good feeling to finally see language channels other than english, spanish, french, german, chinese, japanese or korean (I am french)...Lithuania and lithuanian language have such an old and interesting history. Such a pity that so few people know about it. Hope you will keep doing your videos!
In Occitan, "I" is put at the end of the verb, [ j ] after a vowel [ i ] after a consonant: I am > soi [ suj ] I have > ai [ aj ] I introduce > introdusi [ intrudyzi ] I finish > finissi [ finiʃi ] or [ finisi ]
It’s always so hard to find Lithuanian lessons as the big language learning companies never include it. Learning from a book without audio assistance leaves you unsure of pronunciation. Your first lesson was excellent. I have subscribed and downloaded the book. My grandparents were from the Alytaus region. I would like to visit there and be able to speak to everyone to find out more about my genealogy. Thank you so much. I look forward to learning with you!
Started to pick up quick. I recently made a friend from Lithuania and it’s inspired me to learn and is an interesting language when I started noticing similarities from other languages that Lithuanian uses. The feminine and masculine perspectives for example. I really hope you continue this UA-cam because I’m absolutely devoted to learning but I just can’t find the right sources to learn it elsewhere.
Excited to have the .pdf and audio files! Hoping to get more in touch with the language that was so prevalent around me as a child whose grandmother, father, aunts, uncles and their friends conversed with each other in Lithuanian when together, though we only spoke English at home. I did, however, learn to speak the names of some foods and traditional recipes my grandmother and mother prepared.
Wooow! It was amazing. I was just looking for a lituanian teacher to start learning the language, but I was feeling a lot of anxiety because it seems worse than chinese language for me. But then I thought to search on youtube and I found your lesson. I am amazed. It seemed so easy and friendly. And I've also loved that you've used colors.
I’ve been trying to find a good way to learn Lithuanian for years. I just came across this channel on Sunday, and finally had a chance to do the lesson today. I love it already!! Thank you for making this. ❤
I have just started to learn this beautiful language and i m sp happy i came across your videos. Superb, so easy to understand with the way you are teaching.. Thank you
I really liked your lesson. I recently tried Udemy and I didn’t get much out of it. They threw a bunch at me and very little stuck. You moved more slowly and everything stuck. Am feeling hopeful that I will know some phrases when I meet some Lithuanian relatives soon.
I love your videos. I am learning Lithuanian with a teacher and use your videos to reinforce what I learn. I like that I can learn pronunciation and listen to spoken Lithuanian AND I can play them as many times as it takes me to learn. Thank you.
I love how easy it is to understand everything it feels natural because a lot of words are the same or similar in Latvian. Man ļoti patīk un Es katru dienu mācos :)
Labas, I am so impressed by your explanation of the language which I really like to learn. Good luck, I have many Lithuanian friends I want to communicate with them in their mother tongue. Because learning languages is very important to me.
Aš laiminga, that I found your channel :) The way you explain things is clear and well structured. Looking forward for next lessons! P.S. Thanks additional pdf and audio - it's very useful
This is the first Lithuanian language video I’ve ever watched and for at time I’ve ever tried to learn a language and answered all questions without pausing 🤯 amazing
Thank you so much!! This is literally so helpful! My boyfriend’s family is Lithuanian and some of them don’t speak English. Your channel is so helpful 😊
Excellent lesson. I am a teacher of English to speakers of other languages and a fluent Spanish speaker after 18 years living in Spain. Now back in Ireland with a Lithuanian partner, I have been trying to find a method of learning Lithuanian that suits me but without success until now. Thank you so much for this lesson. I love your method and plan to continue with your classes. The explanation is very clear and the language is introduced in a way that it is easy to understand and absorb and, finally, there is a sense of satisfaction in being able to reproduce the language and produce sentences. Your repetition of both the English and Lithuanian words/phrases is great and helps with pronunciation and memory. Thanks again!
It's interesting to see the differences from Latvian perspective. Protingas is a false friend of "prātīgs" (reasonable) in Latvian and both are based on the same word protas/prāts (mind). While the Latvian word for smart is "gudrs", which has the same root as "gudrus" (clever) in Lithuanian.
Damn! I've been scouring the Internet for spoken Lithuanian lessons (not passive text with ni pronunciation guide of which there are plenty). Finally I found this, and it's the best way to teach any language! Niw I want someone to copy this in Hungarian, Japanese and German... I mean, the simple and blatantly obvious method of colouring the grammatical components so I can more easily memorize and pick out each word as part of my literal translation, obvious but I've never seen it done, and now I will copy it with coloured biros as I learn any language 😁
Thank you Graham, for enouraging words. I came up with this method when I started teaching English to Lithuanian speakers and had (still have) great success with it. Glad you like it :)
Thank you so much for this channel! I’ve made it my goal this year to start learning Lithuanian. My husband speaks fluent which is great to practice with but he speaks so fast lol I definitely plan to use your videos for my self studies along with Mondly and the Teach Yourself Lithuanian textbook I ordered from Amazon. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!!
Good point. I chose to talk about it in the other lessons because this type of omitting is a bit different - you add the "ne" part either to the "esu/esi" itself or as in the example you gave, we can use an adverb and put the "ne" on to it. I think I need to make a separate lesson on that. Thank you!
I had to comment again. I can’t believe how well I did in just this one video but now hoping it will stick!! I know I’ll need to revisit this again. I’ve also written it all down. So good
This lesson was very helpful. I had two attempts to start learning Lithuanian in the past. Once I was in Lietuvos Kalba institutas but they sat me with a group who were on third level I think. They already knew some stuff, while I knew nothing. So that didn't work out. Then there was a professor at me uni teaching Lithuanian for free, a lot of students learned the language and stuff, but me and him just couldn't get along. This is my third attempt and I learned more in this video than in those two classes put together.

Finally, I found exactly what I was looking for through your video! My challenge with the other Lithuanian lessons was that they were an hour long and all they did was throw phrases at you quickly. It slipped in one ear and out the other. Your lesson already helped me register what I am learning. Thank you kindly! 🙏🏻 I cannot wait to be able to speak to my mother in law! ❤️
I’m so happy, I’ve always wanted to learn Lithuanian but I would get overwhelmed or burnt out because I would try to memorize everything. But now I’m actually excited to learn.

It slipped in one ear and out the other. Your lesson already helped me register what I am learning. Thank you kindly! 🙏🏻 I cannot wait to be able to speak to my mother in law! ❤️
Thank you, Natalia! So glad that it helps you! :)
I’m so happy, I’ve always wanted to learn Lithuanian but I would get overwhelmed or burnt out because I would try to memorize everything. But now I’m actually excited to learn.
You are really amazing!!! I'm from Greece and I watched your video before I sleep and, when I woke up, I remembered all the phrases!!! Aciu!!!
