Hi! I just got back from my boyfriends basic training at fort Moore and now he is doing the second half of his a OSUT training. Do you remember if he was able to sleep over at the Airbnb after the second ceremony?? Or did he have to leave for his duty station? My bf will most likely stay since he is also doing airborne school. Congratulations to him and your family 💕
Hi! Thank you 😊 My husband is Army National Guard. So after the ceremonies were all over, we got to go home. I’m not sure how it is if they stay for Airborne school or go straight to a duty station 🙂 Congratulations to him & you as well. Any time apart is hard. Hopefully, it will go by fast for you.
Thank you for sharing this journey with you and your husbands! God bless you all! My husband is almost halfway through BCT to turn green. This might be a ridiculous question but did you know ahead of time where your husband would be standing in the group? I don't know why I'm so anxious about having a hard time finding where he's located.
Thank you for taking the time to watch! ☺️ I totally understand. I was anxious as well because we go so long without seeing them😅 Then we have to try and find them in a ceremony. My husband was able to text before the ceremony, and he told me where to find him in his group 😆 It’s still difficult since they look very similar though. Hope that you will be able to find him quickly 🫶🏻 God bless yall and your new adventures ahead ❤️
@@RachelAnnT Thank you for your prompt reply. I really appreciate it. It seems like our journeys are very similar, just 2 years later! I pray my husband can contact me also. That will take some of the stress away. They do all kind of blend in, that's why I'm nervous. When they have their uniform hats on, the full face is not showing (gasp) haha. Also, any recommendations on how early to leave for the ceremony that morning? I don't know the details yet but with traffic, I know I need to leave with plenty of time to spare.
@diannaackerson1369 Will you be in Fort Benning? I actually have the Turning Green Video on my YT as well if you want to see what it looks like. We stayed in an AIR BNB both times which were about 15mins away, but left probably an hour before the ceremony started just incase 😆 You never know with traffic.
@@RachelAnnT yes, I watched the Turning Green ceremony before this one and decided to comment here. We will be traveling to Fort Moore. Thank you for the recommendation!
Hello! I am going to my boyfriends turning blue and graduation ceremony here at the end of February and I have a question for you! My flight gets in super early in the morning and there is a very high chance that I will be about 15 minutes late to the turning blue ceremony. Are they pretty strict on time for that ceremony? Or do they let people trickle in a couple minutes late? I know graduation is more formal and I will be ready to be on time for that but I am anxious about not being able to see his turning blue because I may be a couple minutes late!
Hi! My husband’s turning blue and graduation were both outside so people were able to walk up even when late. But even if the turning blue is inside, I don’t think they can turn you away 💁🏻♀️ There are usually Drill Sergeants around to help as well.
Congrats to him. Got my cord with Bravo 2-29, the battalion behind the treeline. We passed his battalion whenever we marched to the shoppette for haircuts, lol. Good times.
My 3 little ones & I will be there for my hub's graduation this November! I hadn't even thought about an Airb&b vs a hotel! Was the pricing better? Also, was this on base or off? So happy for your family, & prayers for an easy transition into the Military life ❤
That’s so exciting!! We stayed off base but it was only about a 10min drive. I don’t think the pricing is necessarily better but they are usually cleaner IMO. And each Airbnb requires different check out rules: like strip the beds and put the dishes in dishwasher. Some people don’t like having to do that, but it only takes a few mins. Also, My daughter still needs her naps, so being able to put her in a room to sleep for those is great! In a hotel, we would be in the same room and she wouldn’t sleep 😂 And thank you very much! Praying y’all will have a happy reunion and easy transition as well☺️
I already had my Military ID so I didn’t have to register to get on base, but if you don’t have a Military ID yet or anyone else that may be coming to the graduation, they will need to register to get on base. The link was given to us on the Facebook Group I was a part of. One of the Commanders kept us posted on the graduation and details. I’m not sure if you have that, but you can probably go online and look up requirements for your specific base and how to register. :) I hope that helps!
I don’t know if you’ll see this message, but I’ll be heading off to fort Benning on January 3rd, 2023. My parents would like to attend the graduation of course. Can you email me the location of that bnb? It was really a nice looking little place!
Hi Cody! Jay is 24. I asked him this question and his reply was: 1) While at BCT, remind yourself why you joined and how it will benefit your family. Also, it will help you put into perspective everything you will have to put up with. That helped me carry on day to day. 2) Find a way to connect with your family even when you’re away. For example, I wrote a letter every day as if I was talking to them after work.
(3)Take time everyday to pray. This helps you process what’s going on, can help keep your emotions in check, and help you stay connected. So when the hard days come you have something to lean on in place of your family. (4) When you get phone time or passes where you either see get to see or talk to your family, make the most of that time. Be goofy. Talk and dream about the future. Make a point to be enjoyable and to enjoy their company. And that will give you something to look forward to each week. Best of Luck!!
My husband's turning blue ceremony is next week I am so excited/nervous. To see him and drive all the way from Michigan.
I felt the same way 🥹 But I’m so happy that you will see him so soon!! I hope you have a safe trip☺️

Nice
Did you have to do any registration or signing up prior to the graduation in order to attend? Like getting a pass and all? I’m going this week!

I forgot, It wasn’t the “soldiers creed” but the Infantryman Creed 🇺🇸

How old is Jay? I'm 31 and I am heading to BCt at Jackson in January. Wondering how he was able to deal with leaving his family
