    I just found your channel now. 1!
    Even listing a suggested STRUMMING PATTERN for each song would be most helpful for us beginners/novices. OH! I just noticed the chucking pattern suggestion is a strumming suggestion! Thanks!

      Hello! Thanks for watching the videos here. A couple of things for you to know:
      First, these videos are made for school use first and foremost (so you won't find much on this channel that can't be used in a school). However, we have found out that the videos are used by a lot of people in different ways, including community groups and individuals. When teachers or group leaders use these videos, they like telling people what the strumming pattern should be.
      Second, when I use these videos in my own classroom, I don't like waiting for a strumming tutorial before the video starts. Usually I want to hit play and let it go. These videos generally all start 9 seconds into the video.
      Third, I understand that some people like strumming patterns, and a few videos (see Lost Boy) suggest some patterns mid-video. But for people that want a strumming pattern, I have been making tutorial videos since this summer where I teach the chords and then show how one strumming pattern works. That's only the last 40 videos or so, but it is a start. Those videos are on my sister channel, UA-cam.com/ukestuff
      Finally, most of these songs were written without ukulele, and there is no "right" strumming pattern. So when I do post a strumming pattern, I get comments from people telling me that the strumming pattern I suggest is wrong. What is right is what works for you, so if you find a strumming pattern that sounds good to you, by all means, use it.

      Remember that strumming patterns are suggestions at best. if you find something better that fits better to you or for you, use it!

    im a bit confused about the strumming pattern. do you change chords after the 2nd chuck? if not, when do we change chords?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  2 роки тому

      First and foremost, consider the suggested pattern just a suggestion, even though there is a clear pattern on the original guitar. I suggest DU Chuck U U Chuck U but use whatever works, and you keep that pattern while following the indicators on the video. When the indicators change, you change, too.

    Hello... thanks for this play along tutorial. This is awesome and i think it is the easiest one to follow from all that i’ve seen for this song so far :) I just have a question though, on 0:05 at the bottom of the screen where you put the strumming pattern; what does “miss” mean? Is it when u tap the ukulele?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 роки тому

      Just skip the down strum there. Miss the strings.

    • @ukeplayalongs

      You're going to have to learn how to chuck before you can match that pattern. Can you chuck? If not, there are 100 people with tutorial videos on the subject who can get you started.

    How is the whole patter?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 роки тому +1

      It's funny that you ask. This is one of the few songs that I put the pattern in. Freeze at 00:05 and look at the bottom of the screen.

      @@ukeplayalongs I saw that, but it's not completed right?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 роки тому

      It's most of it. We're using ukulele so we'll never match the guitar perfectly. if there are minor changes, you'll just need to listen an adapt to match. I usually don't specify strumming at all (you can see my longer comment about that in the community area on this channel).

    I love this version, chords are not too hard . I'm having trouble with the strumming though... Do you have a pdf version so I can print it and work with it?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  5 років тому +2

      I don't for this one. I was originally trying to get a Patreon account going, and for the last six months, I had been making chord sheets for every song...and out of 25,000 subscribers at the time, only nine people were patrons, most of them close friends. I think most people just want free resources. Since that time, I've locked the Patreon account and I'm not sure how I want to handle the chord sheets, as they take additional time to create.
      Most people will be happy going to ukutabs.com (not my website) and dealing with some different chords here and there. For this song: ukutabs.com/e/extreme/more-than-words/
