I think I've figured out Belle's motives. She believed that if the man who kicked her couldn't get punished because he was rich, then she will also be immune if she were rich as well. That and the loss of her child broke her as well.

That wicked man who kicked her baby in the stomach thought he could get away with murder since he was not prosecuted but it looks to me like God Himself was not going to let that evil brat get away with murder. So as an act of God’s justice or karma (that some people prefer to say) the man died of stomach cancer and it makes so much sense to me that dying of stomach cancer is a reminder of what he did to the pregnant woman’s child.

I have been researching about serial killers and a few days back I came across Belle Gunness but what intrigued me the most is that I was also born on the 11th of november and I am the last child of my family. I truly understand Belle gunness and her reasons to turn to the dark side. Once you see the evil of man, you begin to see no reason to show mercy to anyone.
