Truth
Honestly what in the damn hell is in the water over in the Philippines. I did music at college and a friend of mine was from the Philippines and his musical ability was outstanding, everyone over there seems to be ridiculously musical inclined it’s crazy

Could be a cultural thing. A form of survival tool. Most ordinary Filipinos when ask, why they like singing regardless if they're good or bad at it, most of the answer is, singing makes them forget even for a few minutes, personal problems and to most poor families who has a child that's good in singing, it becomes somewhat a TOOL to get out of poverty if the child is able to join a singing contest and hopefully win and become a regular guest at local TV shows.

Seriously. I literally googled "why are filipinos so extraordinary at singing". Hahahaha...WHAT IS THE SECRET!
Filipinos don't train so much and pay for vocal coaches to get better in singing. What we always have is a karaoke to be our training ground 😂🇵🇭 Seriously, you can hear 9% of Filipinos out of 10 in every neighborhood of our country who is so good in singing. ❣️
Her "Fly like a bird " bird cover is something else! Low notes, long phrases, incredible belting up to an A5, great and complicated runs, different switch from register and obviously her amazing whistle register doing axing runs in her whistle and even speaking in her whistle register. Also her own original song "Akin Ka Na Lang" leaves you like this!! 😱😱😱😱. I think She does a 14 or 16 second legato phrase in one breath while she is belting multiple E5 and going back down and then going back up. She even holds a Bb4 for a few seconds and jumps to her whistle register to an A6 without stopping and does a vocal run up there! Her transitions from chest to whistle are just as good as Mariah! She doesn't have to stop to access her whistle. I'm an Opera singer as well form Puerto Rico and I did a double B.A. in classical music and I'm finishing my masters. It's a breath of fresh air, listening to someone that is so well knowledge of vocal pedagogy and how the vocal folds work! I'm an ok Opera singer jajaja not the best but my technic is pretty solid and I sing in a free, relaxed and natural placement. I love your reactions! I've learned a lot in my training and have kept learning, and I love listening to people that know what I know maybe even much more ❤️ we never stop learning. Morissette is a master class singer ❤️❤️❤️.

Yeah she sees all the intricacies and small but delicate details in Mori's style that others so so You Tube reactors overlooked or didn't recognize, they'll only swoon over her high notes and her beautiful voice.
I’ve seen vocal coaches mention many of those same things. At least the ones I follow. But she’s definitely a rank above the rest when it comes to the normal reactors, even the singers who react.

Morissette so amazing that she has become a favorite of many vocal coaches, musicians and reactors worldwide- generating for such channels literally tens of millions of views and tons of subs, with quite a number getting as much as upwards of a million or two views on a single reaction video.
Morissette's signature song is Akin Ka Na Lang, a ballad that is becoming popular even outside of her home Country.

She is the standard bearer for this song! Cries , growls , tone , pitch perfect belts. No one else has all of that like she does. By the way this no theater on broadway or 50 million dollar recording studio. It was a bus on the streets of the Phillipines sitting down. I think you will find this is the best singer people in America do not currently know!

Sorry but Loren's version on David Foster's PBS special is still the best. She is the original singer of this song and even elevated it on the special.

The Greatest Showman blew me away...the music, the story, the acting...I had no words. But this song had me in tears during the movie. 6'2...big beard...jaw dropped and tears running down my face. I never thought I'd hear someone do a cover that would be anywhere near as good as the original. I was wrong. Just...bravo!! Amazing!! So glad you did a reaction to this one.

I agree about this video actually having something valuable to say in terms of techniques etc. I find so many reaction videos, even from vocal coaches and singers, have devolved into nothing but 'Wow! That's amazing! I'm shook! Such a good job!' which is disappointing cos I like to watch these to get a more informed analysis/appreciation of the performance from professionals

To completely blow your mind, start with her original song, "Akin Ka Na Lang" on the Wish bus (turn on the English closed captioning). Then, for a total contrast, hear her new mashup of Moon River on her own UA-cam channel and "She Used to be Mine" (from Waitress) as well as "Fly Like a Bird" (on her own channel). I was wondering if you could react to another of my favorite singers, the one with possibly the best breath management on the planet (not an exaggeration), that would of course be Dimash Kudaibergen, the Kazakh sensation. Some people say you’re not a real UA-cam Vocal Coach until you’ve had your wig snatched by Dimash. SOS would be a great song to start with.

I can't get enough of this performance and your review just added another layer of appreciation on top of it. I promise!! Her original song, Akin Ka Na Lang, will astound you!! But, there are SO many more things Morissette can do with the talent God has given her. Her father did most all of her training and I'm thinking he is not a professional singer.
