- The refreshed SQ5 is here and Audi has made some big changes for 2021. On the outside you will find a new front fascia, grill, wheels and rear bumper. On the inside there is the usual top notch interior with high end materials and finishes. The virtual cockpit is second to none and also a 10in infotainments system display. Under the hood is a 3.0 turbocharged V6 producing 355HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2021 Audi SQ5 the best compact luxury sport SUV to BUY?

I just got the 2022 SQ5 , I love it !!! The handling is planted and sharp , acceleration is impressive , a great package !!!

I have this car and can say it does everything well! Carries all my surfboards on top, golf clubs in back, snowboards/ski racks on top... I drove it up to the mountains in a blizzard and this car handled like a champ! Passing other 4x4s and jeep wranglers that even had chains on and this car was able to get all the way up the mountain without chains!! I did put Michelin all season 4 tires on tho. Thanks for bringing the latest Joe! I have the 2020 but I like the changes in the redesign

What 21” Michelin all seasons do you have on your SQ5. I’m thinking of doing the same thing as I’m not a huge fan of the low profile summer tires that come stock.

If I recall correctly these have a better sidewall than the P Zeros

They do, I just picked up '21 in district green with real exhaust. Cost is $1,800 in Canada for the upgrade. The car is great overall but I agree the fake exhaust is just awful!!!

Picked up my QS5 last week. Glacier White Metallic, Magma Red Interior, flat bottom steering wheel, 21 inch tires and the real exhaust option. Love the way it handles and sounds.

Yep. The monitor looks like it was clipped on as an afterthought. Integrating the display into the dash like Mercedes AMG would look slick. The pleaded seats look ostentatious, not sporty. Hate the "feel".
It needs leather stitching on the dashboard and door panels it looks cheap.
Always love the reviews! You have to review the 2021 X3 M40i. I was able to test drive both the X3 M40i and the SQ5 and the X3 just has that extra aggressiveness in power, handling, feel and exhaust note. Keep up the great work Joe!

S Q5 is a good way to go with a 5 second 0-60.

It’s actually a little faster (0.4s) for 2021 due to transmission gearing change so should be 0-60 in 4.7s.
@@yes8032 what do you think of the looks of the redesign? It doesn’t look too different. Side view mirrors changed, and the rear a little and those taillights look stolen off the Mazda CX
Last time I was this early,Audi was still engaged in rally car racing, which I must admit, is what I would I be tempted to do with this Beast.

Just purchased the 21 SQ5, really nice car, traded in a 2018 Q5 so I can pretty much tell the difference between the new & old, tried the BMW X5 & x3, didn’t like the ride on the x5, the x3 seemed to tight or squished in the two front seats!!

Yea the Q5 has a more sleeker roofline which I like too although the mx3 can be a beast
Hopefully purchased that vehicle in cash? Let’s avoid giving money to the banks aka financing just to buy a depreciating high maintenance cost machine. God bless!

Awesome review!! l've been debating on getting a SQ5 ever since l bought my 2018 Q5 with stage 2 and down pipe installed. You sir have convinced me in purchasing one after this Great review. l have seen many reviews on cars but this is by far the best l have seen...
This is the only vehicle I wanna buy it Joe.
I was at a local Audi dealer in Marin County CA, I saw this SUV along with some other really nice vehicles from Audi. I was there buying a 2013 BMW 328i convertible! I turned in my Jetta for the used Bimmer. The new Audi's were really sharp, but very very high priced! Nothing under $40k anymore. I'd say most people can't afford it. I can't! ha ha Good review. Don't forget to mention the Alfa Romeo Stelvio when you mention those other performance SUVs!

I watch a lot of UA-cam car reviews and RR are the best hands down. I have this car SQ5 and he nails the review also loved seeing RR face when he gets on my other car M2 Competition. Keep up the good work and like other commenters here - Your videos are always spot on - Good work and keep them coming! BTW I went into the SQ5 from a Macan S. Loved the Macan SO SO much but the same build on my Audi would have been +20-30K more for the Porsche.

Macan drives better - I’ve owned both.
Porsche has way too many options and charges for all of them. Get this in Prestige like the one Joe is reviewing and you’re good to go. I’ll be getting mine in July. I love the Macan S too but all of the options drive me crazy.

I’m between these two on a purchase decision and agree on the shape. Also like the flat bottom steering wheel. It’s silly but the SQ5 gets a Zonk for that.

Currently have a 3 year old SQ5 and thinking of upgrading or changing brands if I can find something better. Just drove a X3 mi40 and must say was underwhelmed. Back in own car and it’s a better drive AND better quality. Now considering GLC 43

I have a flat-bottom in my 2019 VW Tiguan. I like it.
The flat bottom is usually the standard wheel for SQ5, if you have cold weather package with heated wheel you get the full round one. I'm wondering if that changed for 2021 though...

SQ5 doesn't quite compete with X3M, Macan Turbo, or the AMG GLC 43 as its only a single turbo V6. It does compete with the Macan S however. If Audi brought the RSQ5 then it would compete with the X3M, Macan Turbo, and GLC 43 as it would be a twin turbo V6. SQ5 is still going to be my next buy regardless (unless they bring the RS)

I almost can't watch Audi reviews, because the infotainment square sticking up in the middle of the dash always disappoints me. Audi needs to reorganize their dash setup.
