    The local astronomical community honoured me by successfully suggesting my name be attached to minor planet 10047 by the International Astronomical Union.
    (10047) Davidchapman is well-behaved and promises never to bother Earthlings!

    *Discovered in Chile 1986-08-28
    *Orbit is 2 1/3 times wider than Earth’s (between Mars & Jupiter).
    *Orbit is nearly circular.
    *Orbits the Sun every 3.6 years.
    *About 5 km across.
    *Colour of aged asphalt
    *Just one of ~23,000 named minor planets-more than 1.1 million have been detected

    Congratulations David!.
    I have a friend out here in Belleville Ontario who also had an asteroid named after him recently.
    He's been a bit out of astronomy for the last couple of years but I will forward him this video.
    I'm sure trying to take a picture of your own asteroid would in Tyson back into his Observatory!
