    I learned from this video, good thing I went with the T7 Shield route, almost bought one of this, didn't know about the power draw compatibility thing.
    A tip: Since the back of the enclosure is also magnetic, you can probably attach one of those magnetic phone coolers that also has the same shape.
    Fun fact: Hagibis is a Chinese brand but they used a Filipino word which means speed.

    If only they were able to put micro SD cards in phones it would be a game changer 😂

      But then how would they sell us cloud storage?

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 6 місяців тому +7

      ProRes is 60GB/per/min, and SD cards cannot cope with that, so they would be useless. The best SD cards are about 6GB/per/min, so they are 10X too slow. That is why premium phones ditched them, as they are only useful for storage, not for practical workflows like recording video.

      @@andyH_England Premium phones dropped SD cards and headphones aux port to upsale you on storage and headphones. I'm no expert on pro res but was able to find videos of people using SD card adapters to their phones to record.

      @@julioca918 OEMs rightly believe that pro camera users paying $1400 for the best camera phones can afford to buy 1TB storage. I agree that cheaper phones could have an SD card reader but not a flagship, as they have the fastest storage, and SD cards are just too slow now compared to UFS 4.0.

    Can't wait for your updated rig video. Although i would love to see you use a dji pocket 3, as that seems more coherent

    I like it, I bought it for my rog Ally, and it becomes hot when it is charged through it, so I bought a magnetic fan and it did the job 🤩

      Does it get hot when only charging (without transferring files)
      I wanna get a comfortable cable to charge my phone whilst playing games but i also want to get an ssd for watching movies whilst i dont have phone signal. Just dont wanna use as a charger if it kills the ssd quickly from heat

    Will this attach to Qi2 compatible Androids? Lots of those are expected to come out in the next few years.

    hi
    I have two question . my tablet is the new Red magic NOVA gaming tablet,
    QUESTION 1)
    bearing in mind both , the enclosure box/ssd m2 are usbc 3.2 , and the usbc port of the tablet is also 3.2, there should not be any problem for reading compatibility, right???
    QUESTION 2) most important to me:
    I would put all my retro roms, yuzu games etc there, the thing is, once I select the ROM PATH (choosing the m2 ssd enclosure) will work automatically??
    I mean...if i I turn off and the tablet and turn it on again, will be Linked the rom path to my tablet automatically?? (I hope so) or...would have I to select the rom path thorugh the emulators every time I turn rhe tablet off/on????? I hope that, doing it once per emulator, yuzu for instance would search the games automatically through the rom patch choquen beforhand automatically even I turn off/In the tablet...
    What do your engineer think??
    Thank vou so much for your invaluable support.

    A combined slimline hub / battery bank with passthrough / SSD would make sense as another option...

      Since this company already made the chipset, it would be easy to make yourself actually... buy powerbank, this thing, open up, create custom enclosure: done.

    I believe is best to just buy an iPhone with 1TB. At the end of the day all cost will end up equally or close but with less accessible accessories to make this work.

    I have a pixel with a Quadlock case that has the magsafe feature. But I am dubious about that custom cable since it seems custom made for an iPhone and who knows if it fits on something else.

    Nice unit. I didn’t know about this capability. That said, I would prefer this to be a phone case integration. I realize that’s a tall order given the many phones out there. But a deal breaker for me is using a phone without a protective cover. It’s better insurance than insurance.

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  6 місяців тому

      There are magsafe compatible cases that this would work with. But do agree a case with integrated ssd could be useful especially as it could accommodate a usb hub too

      if worse comes to worse they sell magsafe magnetic rings that work with this type of thing(you would need one for most android phones). you could attach one of those rings to the outside of a case.

    • @JasonJrake
      @JasonJrake 6 місяців тому +2

      I love mSD slots, but I wouldn’t call their presence “modern,” in that most high end phone devices don’t include them anymore.
      In addition to overcharging for built-in storage, I think that Apple also has a philosophical objection to them which is that they use do make using a device more complicated than they want for their average consumer.
      Even though I am locked into iPhone for a few apps that are exclusive to it, I also buy (horde? 😅) used galaxy and LG phones precisely to have reliable devices with SD cards,so I understand your desire for them.
