    Just to make you a bit more sad, remember that the dead dwarf lord in the tomb of moria in fellowship of the ring, is Balin, and some of the dead dwarves in that room are some of the other dwarves that accompanied Thorin to Erebor.

    • @jumbohoss2991
      @jumbohoss2991 Місяць тому +13

      Ori and Dori went with Balin. Ori was fell by the Watcher in the see were the Fellowship enters Moria. And Ori was laid before Balins grave. The dwarf with the book, witch Gandalf picked up.

    • @tileux
      @tileux Місяць тому +2

      @@jumbohoss2991 from memory, the watcher is in a lake nearby but after balin’s death (from an orc arrow) there has been some sort of flooding or deliberate digging by orcs that brought the water to the back door of moria - where the fellowship meet it.

      @jumbohoss2991 It wasn't Dori but Oín, Gloín's brother and Gimli's uncle. Ori was the dwarf skeleton holding The Book of Mazarbul, writing down the last words before he and the last dwarves of the colony that got killed by orcs of Moria.

    And Thorin had this final redemption. Buried with the Arkenstone over the chest, and with his legendary sword Orcrist, the goblin-cleaver. In his farewell... I always cry. A true KING.

    • @leesweets4110
      @leesweets4110 Місяць тому +1

      Thus proving all along that the king of the dwarfs need not possess the arkenstone in order to rule. Thorin couldnt rule with the stone buried under gold and a dragon in the mountain - which is the entire premise of the trilogy - but in the last minute we find out that his successor can rule with the stone buried with Thorin.

    Nice one, Ladies! Yes, a sadder ending then one would expect, but a wonderful story just the same. Those characters died in the book as well. Thank you for sharing these Hobbit movies with us. I hope some day you both get a chance to read the books. I think you will enjoy them very much. 🙂

    I am impressed by Peter Jackson and his team that even in such chaos as the production of this trilogy, they created really cool films compared to others in this genre.
    Interesting fact: In the official Making off, the film's director said that there were days when they didn't know what to do. As a result, the filming time of the last part extended. I'm still impressed that someone in the studio allowed this to be included in the official Making off material XD

  • @JedHead77
    @JedHead77 Місяць тому +9

    The Hobbit films weren’t meant to be trilogy. For a small book, it was supposed to be one film, then it was two. Then the studios wanted a trilogy because it was financed by multiple studios, and they wanted adequate financial compensation and returns on their investments.

    This acorn 15:19 that Bilbo said that he wants to plant in his garden. That Acorn grows into that huge tree that all the Hobbits are gathered under and around when they're celebrating Bilbo's 111th birthday at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring.

    These intros are so good, every single time 😂 Love them! Laura with her hand gestures is giving away her secret italian origins 😂
    2:40 Magy is fully embracing her new dragon overlord - villain era suits Magy best!
    5:37 Laura hitting us with her favourite line out of nowhere!
    7:45 the scenes between Kili and Tauriel hit you right in the feels, no matter how many times you've seen them already.
    9:18 you're very much right, Magy, nothing unites people better than the idea of lynching someone else, especially a despicable character like Alfrid. His role in the movie was purely for comedic relief, showing us just how absurd the greed for gold can be.
    12:35 top tier commentary from Magy, she knows Laura too well 😂
    15:00 it's hard seeing Balin throughout the movie, how much he suffers when he realizes how much the dragonsickness is affecting Thor. Dwalin showed his grief too, albeit we didn't see his reaction that much.
    16:28 best night guard ever - Alfrid. Only the entire elven army managed to sneak past him, fully armored.
    19:35 well noticed, Magy! From time to time, for brief moments, we can still see the old Thorin, usually when he's in Bilbo's company. Maybe it's just his innocence, maybe the hobbit is the complete opposite of the dwarves, not putting any thought towards the notion of gold.
    24:00 that was incredibly brave of Bilbo, returning to the Company to confront Thorin.
    25:54 that animosity between Dain and Thranduil is hilarious, they manage to piss each other off so much.
    27:02 that was on point, Laura 😂
    31:20 seeing Thorin come back to his old self, rallying the Company and finally leading the charge in battle is such a beautiful scene, gives you chills.
    35:45 that poor troll had the weakest throat game, ever. In the end, Alfrid did some good!
    37:15 this right here, Tauriel's words, was probably the wake up call for Thranduil, if he ever had one.
    38:35 the sad part is, if you think about it, Azog made his promise to Thorin true - for all intents and purposes, he ended his bloodline, killing Thor, Fili and Kili. Dain is Thor's cousin and the next king but still, distant blood relation.
    43:00 Thorin's goodbye to Bilbo, the wise words about valuing home above gold - one of the saddest moments in the LotR cinematic universe.
    44:18 This was mostly fan service, name dropping Strider like that, but it was beautiful nonetheless, especially seeing Thranduil and Legolas get some closure, or at the very least not parting in anger.
    44:45 This one hurt even more, even more so when you realize Thranduil actually tried to comfort Tauriel, or empathize with her.
    Seeing Bilbo cry so hard at Thorin's funeral reminds us just how pure hearted he remained through all this. He really cared for his friend. His farewell to the dwarves, the beautiful words he chose for it - pure wholesomeness.
    51:38 Elves and humans can and have died in this universe because they lost their loved ones and the grief was too strong.
    You did an incredible job not spoiling anything, Magy, I'm very proud of you!
    Thank you for the incredible reaction and your heartfelt commentary during and after the reaction. It's been a pleasure rewatching this with you ❤

    And here we are Battle of the five armies, Awesome reaction as always ladies😊this movie has so many amazing moments the death of Smaug,Bilbo talking about the acorn with Thorin,the entire Battle of the five armies,Thorin defeating Azog,Thorins final moments with Bilbo,Thorin asking the company to forgive and follow him one last time,Tauriel losing Killi but for me my favourite has to the White council arriving to save Gandalf from Dol Guldur and Bilbo turning to see the company waiting to see him off gets me in the feels every time!Also i love the scene with Legolas and Thranduil as he suggests he go north to find the Dunedain and the young ranger amongst them "He is known in the wilds as Strider his true name you must discover for yourself"And then Aragorns theme kicks in chills everytime!And im just gonna add two of my favourite quotes from the movie.
    "We are sons of Durin and Durins folk do not flee from a fight"
    "If more people valued home over gold this world would be a merrier place"

    Guys look at 34:55 " I am too old for this" moment.. He is Balin, the oldest dworf at the crew right.. He is Balin.. Son of Fundin... Remember that? At fellowship of the ring, our crew entered Moria and Gimli found a stone grave.. He said before, "Frodo, Gandalf.. We should pass the mines of Moria.. My cousin Balin will be welcome for us".. That stone grave was Balin.. Son of Fundin..Gimli mourned for him... Also there was a note near the skeleton and near that stone grave.. "We cannot get out.. They are coming".. That skeleton is also the youngest dworf of this crew... :(( So sad..

    Galadriel is a badass in this movie and beautiful and woman at the same time, with Elrond awesome with his long hair and badass swordsmanships skills.
    Interesting facts about elves, a sad fact. They love only once so when they fall in love, like Tauriel did to Kili, they grieve to their dying days. So it's sad to assume that Tauriel went to the grey heavens after Kili's death.

    Given how the second movie ended, I thought the last one will mostly be about the battle against Smaug, and I remember being very surprised by him being killed after just 10 minutes. But then it kind of makes sense, Azog was quiet clearly the main villain of the trilogy.

    27:27 is literally the worst tactic in any movie though xD. Dwarves are wearing very heavy armor, and they have a shield wall with long pikes protruding from the gaps, ready to impale the charging force. What do the light armored elves do? *Charge* over the solid wall of steel and lose all momentum when they land, being an easy target for the orcs…. Wtf???? The elves are literally master bow users, they could have stayed behind the shield wall, and maybe after the orc charge was done, they could have entered the melee fight. Until that, they should have just shot the orcs with arrows. And where did the goats disappear to?? They could have easily flanked as a cavalry

    Song of Durin (Complete Edition) - Clamavi De Profundis, this song would be perfect for the end credits

    I wish they could make The Silmarillion into a movie.

      If Peter Jackson or Guillermo del Toro would do it then yes.
      If Amazon or Disney get their hands on it then no.

      The Silmarillion can't be made into a movie. Not even 10-20 movies are enough for it and most normies would lose interest after 1-2 movies.

      @@Alexszander Yeah I know they can't, but I wish they could. The narrative structure of the plot is highly complex, and it features a multitude of characters. The Silmarillion resembles a lengthy poem with a detailed and elaborate plot.

      @@StaticBlaster I think that's every lotr fan's dream, or at least it was until RoP.

      @@Alexszander I had planned to watch that show after returning from our cruise in 2022, but I never had the opportunity. I'm uncertain about watching it now since I've heard mixed reviews.
