Are you about to buy new wheels? Maybe you should consider some of the specs I listed out in this video, enjoy! IG: jonathanmai SC: officialjonmai Music: epidemicsound.com
Even though I have new suspension, I really like the Sidewall. My current spec is 19x9 +21F(245/40/19) and 19x9 +17 R (235/40/19) so close to being aggressive. my tire setup may look crazy, but even on the roughest roads, it handles them well. Thanks For showing this so others have an idea. The various wheels look really cool. but I would rebuild to be less agressive not to damage / pull the body. Great video Jon!
Definitely a very informative video, I got told 17x9.5 +15s wouldn’t fit and ordered the wheels anyways but only wish I had come across this video sooner and gone with 18s. Plus that website at the end is amazing, keep it up great vid 🤙🤙
I have SSR Vienna Courage on my '95 SC 400. Rear 19x10, +38, 275/30, Front 19x9 +38, 245/35. 1" Tanabe lowering springs and struts. Rear fenders shaved. Fronts untouched. Rides nearly the same as stock
@@JonathanMai Exactly. So 20s are just as viable as 'little' wheels and look just as appealing to many people as well. So, saying they don't belong or have any place on the SC isn't valid. The fact is, you just don't like them.. so say that.
Those are pretty aggressive for stock body, you will fs need to roll/cut your fenders, and then pull them slightly depending on what your fitment goals are.
good video! Trying ot figure out what to do with my '99 SC. I currently have 245/45 R18's all the way around but am debating on going smaller, or even stock.
I don't think 245/40/19 would give that suv look? Maybe 245/45 or 255/40. I have a GS since fresh outta high school, I just bought my first SC it's so clean. I think 19s sit the best on SC LS GS cars. I think I'll put my 18s I got on my GS onto my SC and get some 19s for my GS.
Great video... Thanks! Also, didn't know you could jack up the car in the middle to lift both front & back on one side. Is that the norm, or just a risky move?
If you want a terrible ride quality go bigger and if you want to literally cripple your car then lower it. If you ever got in to a fantasy movie style high speed chase in this car you’d blow your spoiler kit to bits. Unless you’re on a perfectly smooth racetrack this car has been hobbled. I wonder why police never lower their cars or put low profile tyres on them? Because they have to ACTUALLY go fast on real roads.
i have a 97 300 wth stock 16s on it and want to sizw up the wheels without rolling the fenders at all, can i do 17/18 with an offset like +45, closer to factory offset (+50).
There's a guide out there letting you know if those specs will work. I don't work with those specific specs so I won't be able to tell you. Just look up wheel fitment guide for sc300 on google.
fxck do you make me miss my sc. Owned her for 6 months then the alternator shorted caught fire with the powersteering fluid :( soon enough i'll buy another 🤘
Man I want my sc to look that good but I just can’t be static like that I drive too cray u feel?? Have fully adjustable Megan suspension, all stiff bushings, teins set to be soft on sparco 18x8 no stagger can’t remember what tires but summer comp. I love the adjustability and knowing that I coouuullllld go this route is cool but I just couldn’t sacrifice what drivability I have left. Would bags be the compromise I’m looking for u think?
Coilovers I would say is better than bags in terms of performance. So I would stay with coilovers since you have adjustable suspension you have. I look low, but I'm not that low in my opinion in this video.
@@JonathanMai heard. Bags are so much $$ anyways, I’ll lean towards performance for this car at least Ty. Let me ask you question - any idea if this part/product exists - just a thin rubber spacer for inbetween top hat and body? I swear the oem suspension had that but I cannot find where tf they went. I believe it’s called an insulator but can’t rly find anything online
@@JonathanMai just thought I’d let u know I found the exact thing I was saying but not rubber - ‘polyurethane top plate spacer’ it’s usually for ppl who are doing lifts or the opposite kind of suspension tuning as going low lol but I can still be slammed with 1/4 spacers on top if I wanted.
@@JonathanMai it also devalues the car long term and i care more about the car then a look. I got a 1996 sc300 factory 5 speed with 107k miles all orginal garage kept its whole life its super mint and i want to keep it that way as long as i can :)

I see it as, why buy stock spec expensive wheels and tires for it to look stock still. You need to roll your fenders imo to make them fit more aggressively. To each their own. @@wotceseriescollector

20s with a drop and a tire stretch looks really good plus yiu dont have to worry about destroying bumper lip ect

The only set I have left.
I was thinking of going from a 18 too a 17 but honestly after watching this vid I think i might just try out a smaller tire
My stock fenders tucked 245/40r18 in rear, going for wider setup 18x11.5 on 265/35r18 with 50mm overs and 225/40r18 on 18x10.5 rolled front fenders

18's are where its at, 19's ride like shit on these old lexus's.
