Seriously. I've never seen a better bassist in my life. Famous or otherwise. 7sloth is criminally underrated

I can't help but improvise lyrics over your stuff. It's very motivating and gets my creativity going. I like it. I also love the Fortress Warwick! I used to have one of their fortress mastermans and now I use a thumb 5. Diggin it!!

That’s really awesome. Happy that it helps get the creativity flowing. The thumbs are such dope bass guitars.

@@7sloth Just watched your gear rundown and I think we approach tone kind of similar. I also mainly use a "slappy" fingerstyle and some actual slapping and the rest is basically just a tuner, a compressor (EBS MultiComp in my case) and 3 different drive pedals that I kind of keep going back and forth between (a Boss ODB-3, a DIY DG B3K clone and a DG Alpha/Omega Ultra).
I play through headphones at home and use my old POD X3 Live as an interface. not even an amp-sim running anymore.
Instrument is an Esh Stinger I 5-string (Swamp ash body, maple/Wenge neck, dual active EMG Singlecoils and a piezo-bridge)

I wanna see this guy either do Mudvayne's Cradle or Tool's Fear Inoculum. He's the only one who could probably top the original tracks!

    Hello! Very cool improvisation!
I rarely find metal bass lines that are rhythmic and have a lot of notes at the same time! usually they have only zeros and one as a binary code :)))
I want to buy a bass too.
Do you think that if I buy an effects processor, it makes sense to buy a bass with active pickups? or a precision bass is enough?
I don't have a very big budget so I have to choose between a few models from Harley Benton. Such as PB-20, PJ-74 (passive) or B450 and MM-84A (active)...

Thanks man. In my personal opinion I do think you have more tonal control with an active bass, but having said that there are some great qualities to passive bass guitars as well. From my experience both work well with effects processing, they just have different characteristics when it comes to dialing in tones. If you have the ability to try both options of active and passive before you buy I would recommend it to see what is working best for you. Even better if you can demo both options with the effects you wish to use. Hope this helps.

@@7sloth Thanks! Unfortunately in this country you can't find big stores where you can test, maybe in Bucharest, but it's too far :))
