I'm sure others have said this but I must echo, having your children work alongside and learn weather girls or boys is GREAT! My girls are in their 30's now [I'm no farmer] but I taught them all I could about power tools shovels and gardening while they were growing up.
Maybe a dumb question, from a non farmer: what's the reason for not setting this up on a timer, and routing the chute directly to the goats feeding container, in order to remove the need for the internal feeding storage bin and manual labor?
Not for us, but that might have to do with many factors like how long it takes to empty it, is the grain in it whole or crushed, sugars added like molasses wet or dry etc....
