Crazy timing. Really good content man, keep up the great work. Really stoked I found your channel, hope to see more in depth content in the future.
I did find the dev videos for the C-17 from Cold to Landing(and manuals!), and that helped a lot to learn the workflow. Still some quirks in AP setup Im not understanding, but would love to see your content with more of these types of planes maybe simplifying the process and everything.

Oh cool, the nosewheel steering is correctly modeled for a change! Yeah, IRL, rudder only moves the nosewheel enough to "lane change," but not a full on turn. This keeps the plane centered and functions as a safety during takeoff/landing, as crosswind ops frequently require use of rudder.
For NWS, you would use a whole separate tiller, which is what those +/- 5 degree buttons rep.
There's a blue elec pump for ground hydraulics on the overhead panel

Yea, its a pretty cool plane!
A400M is a midway point between the Hercules and the C17.
Makes it a rather attractive proposition for smaller nations with more limited budgets.
Thats a good analysis of this aircraft and wish I would have thought about it in that way.
the A400M is flown by Royal Airforce, German Airforce, bulgarian airforce. and cant remember the other ones. but they do fly to US for training exercises.
Nice i knew several European countries use them but hadn't clue they flew to the US for training missions

Spanish airforce too and its built in Seville, Spain. There was an accident there too that killed 2 test pilots 10 years ago when they were testing the A400
Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Turkey, Malaysia and the UK as far as I know were the initial militaries that use it. It’s beautiful!
I am patiently waiting for issues to resolve on the Xbox Series X as I’m very excited to fly this and the H225 Super Puma helicopter.

Great video spent 2 hours trying to get the game to even let me load into the cockpit of the a400 eventually did it then the game crashed. For the 8 th time so hopefully they will eventually come out with some fixes😂🙄

C-17 was originally designed and developed by McDonnell Douglas before moving to Boeing after the two companies merged in 1997.

Sim market has a msfs2020 version just got updated October 2024. Haven’t checked it out yet

Few times but I would either restart the flight or the sim and fixes it for a bit

On my velocity one on MSFS 20 and 24 I can’t get it to recognize throttles, have you had any issues, works fine in Xplane .
I haven't had any issues where it won't recognize the axis for the throttle. I know I have to remap everything for the VelocityOne Flightstick because nothing is matching up like I thought it would
Really nice plane, but it crashes a third of my group flight buddies sims at various points, so not really usable yet.
Is it a default plane?

I can’t even fly it! Just freezes before I start the actual flight on Xbox . Think il be sticking with DCS.
Thats unfortunate I would give MSFS2024 a bit more time to sort things out. Xbox side Ive heard there are more issues than on PC

SAME. I tried 4 times last night, it totally freezes up the entire sim! Simply doesn't work.
Also my favorite plane, F-18 in free flight, NO control at all now after the update a few days ago.
You can´t compare the A400 with the C17. They both are made for two completely different purposes. The A400 is a tactical transport aircraft, like the C130 Hercules if you want to compare it to something from the US. And the C17 is a strategic transport aircraft. The A 400 is able to takeoff and land on much shorter and improvised airfields, whereas the C17 needs a proper runway but it is way faster and it has a much bigger range than the A400.
For one C17 does everything... I should know I've flown on C17 multiple times. Also the C17 can land on dirt runways... it was designed to land on even short runways under 3,500 feet long and 90 feet wide.

When you are trying to align your irs and adr, I usually select data then airport on my flight computer first using the airport’s ICAO. After that I put in all my mass and balance info in using the efb. Select the Perfs page and press on T.O. Computation and then insert the computated values. After that you should be good, you could also put in your desired flight plan if you have one.

Nice video! Question, does the 160 airports that come with the game are the real airports, and you do not have to purchase them. Also, how can I find out which airports come with the game?
They are real airports and Im not sure where the list is off hand I would have to look it up

A400m is not in any way a copy of the C-17 it’s much smaller in fact the Royal Air Force fly both it was in fact designed to replace the c-130
Ok fair... the shape and design looks close to a C-17 if you think about it though

8:30, how do you move from the cockpit seat to the rest of the plane?
Least on my keyboard on my computer you use Shift and the ASWD keys to move around. That's my setup on my keybaord

There are electronic checklist built into the fmc
The checklist is there in the MSFS2024 version of the EFB. I just shortened the process and did some short cuts
I tried to fly this and it just froze as soon as I loaded into the map.

Is this fixed now? Or does it still freeze and crash your game every time.
I have yet to experience a crash or a freeze last few days its been flawless for me... I use flawless loosely lol still some minor glitches
I've only crashed once using the A400 but my buddy, who has a much better PC than me, gets constant crashes. There's also this bug with AP that will lock out your controls entirely even when you manually override.
Very unusual how everyone is getting so many different results with this sim... not a consistent bug or glitch happen but instead random. Because I havent experienced anything like that.
@@StevesSimStation Never really seen anything like it. Hopefully with the next few patches they start to fix this stuff.

Good video! However, I am stuck at 800 RPM even if I am at full throttle… Does anyone no why?
I ran into that issue. Even though you remove the chokes on the outside walk around you still need to go into the EFB and remove the chokes there... that fixed it for me

This is main reason I got 24 but it’s been very buggy for me 😢

When I get home I can probably get a lot better performance from 24
@@StevesSimStationmake sure on A400 you turn on realistic nose steer in the EFB that’s why it’s not turning

Im not sure if its the same for Xbox but on PC you can revert controls back to 2020 in the settings

I love the A400M sadly it crashes the game on the Series S, fingers crossed its patched soon same with the Beluga Transporter aircraft as well.

Very disappointing you can't load the cargo bay like the C-17. Lazy on ini builds part considering like every cargo plane in the sim can do it.

Airbus copied and updated the old Short Belfast with the A400M
The product is half baked !! VNAV does not work consistently and neither does flying an ILS approach. Very disappointing!!!

Gear retraction in the real aircraft is nowhere near that slow...its just modeled horribly....like MSFS 2024 is overall.
Updates... it will need updates and Im sure Microsoft was scrambling to put them together
@@StevesSimStation 2024 is literally 2020 with some lipstick on it. Terrible trash.
FS12 is not horrobly moddeled overall, for sure not everything is perfect but once the server works its better than FS11 and ince all addons are compatible its gonna be a lot of fun
