Of course you have scroll down to the appropriate comparison chart. I am impressed with the work you have put into these rankings. But what most surprised me is how highly ranked the Toyota Camry AND Avalon TRD's are ranked, not just for value, as their fun factor is only one point less that that of the WRX premium. Just drove an old friend's manual WRX (Not the STI), and was so impressed with how much fun it was. I was about to pull the trigger to get one as my "driver's" car. But now I think I have to try these Toyota TRD's before making a decision. Until recently, I would never have considered a front wheel drive car for the job. Of course, the Civic Type R has changed many minds, but once you are over a certain age, the Type R just doesn't have a look that I can live with.
4 years later and I just bought one, WRX has been a realistic dream car of mine since i was a kid driving them in games. I bought one 1000 miles from home and road tripped it back after spending a week learning manual. Genuinely had never been behind the wheel of a manual before and still bought it. I love the car, and am going to do everything I can to take great car of it. Gotta be on top of my oil changes, on top of my check ups too, but very very happy with my purchase!
I got a 2020 WRX base trim in October. The rev hang is unfortunate but I just accept it and it doesn’t bother me anymore. I just wait a little longer before letting the clutch out in 2nd (wait for rpm to drop about 2k) and it is smoother for me. I love the way it handles too. So much grip. I love the power delivery. I learned stick on this car with the salesman in the passenger seat. I wouldn’t recommend learning manual on this car but if I can do it then anyone can do it if they are determined and have enough patience.
I’ve owned a bmw e46 all my life, picked up this car in cvt (LA traffic) and I love it super quick sedan very comfortable don’t regret my purchase at all. Can’t wait till I mod it ❤️
The clutch will break in, just give it a thousand miles or so and it's super smooth. Also, if you're going for the premium trim, spend the extra $2k and get the Recaro seats. They make the interior so much nicer (plus you get Brembos with the 2020)
Glad to hear that about the clutch! I'm coming from a BRZ which was a sweet shifting car and found the WRX clutch to be quite heavy (at least after 1 week of driving).
I blew my stage 2 gt wagon up, bought a 2020 wrx yesterday. My legacy gt pulled harder, but the wrx is a more balanced powerband that makes it almost as fast.
I wouldn't retire that. I have a 05 Legacy GT and just got my new 2020 WRX with Perfomance Package. No way I would get rid of my Legacy. Rare little car man. Keep them!
I'm so damn happy you started the drive portion of your video absolutely hammering the WRX for its poor manual transmission. I feel like every other review on UA-cam tries that hardest to kind of glaze over the poor transmissions and making light of it, but after 16k miles and a year of ownership the main reason I gave up on my wrx was specifically because of the trans and of course the rattles coming from literally everywhere. I wish people were more transparent as to how bad the trans is. And yes I know. Go after market, but there's plenty of people I'd say at least a large minority, don't want to go to the aftermarket. As you mentioned Hondas trans are smooth with no issues right out if the box. Regardless great review, your transparency will get you far!
I have a 2018. I leased it. I can't wait to give it back. It's terrible. Bad quality (things started to vibrate and rattle after 3 months of ownership). It's slow. Terrible gearing. So you're constantly shifting to get nowhere. Interior noise is high. No there's no difference in years. I test drove an employee 2015 because apparently they don't allow test drives on wrx's. But the salesman allowed me to drive an employee wrx because i told him i don't have any interest if i don't get to test drive. Same interior noise as my 2018. If anything, that 2015 felt better. The clutch i mean. It's easier to manage. Paint has some issues, the battery is weak. (had to jump start it during the 2nd winter after it only sat 3 days). The radio is HORRIBLE. And since i'm an OCD maintenance type of guy, i do oil changes every 3 months regardless of miles. The FA destroys oil like there's no tomorrow. Some people say it's because of the turbo but i have other turbo cars without this issue. This engine shears oil like no other. I have about 9 months left on the lease and i can't wait to give it back. I had a 2006 wrx about 5 years ago and that was way better. Subaru quality slipped through the cracks. This wrx will be the last subaru i will ever buy. I should have leased a stinger before this.
I thought I was dumb for having such a hard time learning to drive manual in a 2020 WRX. This made me feel a lot better about struggling to hold the bite point for 1st and 2nd lol
Own 2019 rally blue wrx, daily drive it. My first subi. Drove almost every manual car for a long time, from Honda, toyotas,Mitsubishi, nissan, even a yard build Jeeps from my native country. The manual on this though, the clutch like you mentioned,I don't know what their thinking when they made it like that. It will make even the most seasoned most experience manual driver feel like their learning how drive a stick for the first time, I don't care who are,you will stall this car. But I love the performance, lived near Chicago now so AWD is a must.
I agree. I've let several friends drive it, and warned each one about this before hand. Still resulted in many lurching starts and stalls. Takes becoming accustomed too. BTW, I don't think it's all due to the clutch. I think, when shifting, you are also usually going from no boost to full boost. Really easy to misjudge gas and clutch use when the power changes so much.
Ain't that bad on some occasion 😂,may be you guys are right, maybe the clutch feel or the tranny or what ever that thing is,it's just bit harder to trust the car most especially coming from a stop and go situations. There's almost no margin for error or mistake on this car,you released that clutch to early or missed judge the clutch engaging point it will punish you haha! Maybe it wants you to a better driver, but even Torreto God mode talent will still stall this car! To be a honest I was torn between this and the type R! Since wife okayed it,type r just a little to impractical for me most especially I need to daily drive the thing and there's no other car I can used if something happen.
bayumbon sonsam lies. I had the 2015 WRX for two years then I traded it for a 2018 WRX and I NEVER stalled it. Not even once. I also live in Chicago and I’m stuck in rush hour two to three hours a day and never stalled
I've got a 2019 very similar to what you've reviewed here. I'd say your review is spot on, with 2 caveats. First, the seats are good like you say, but I'd like a bit more lumbar support, or maybe an adjustable lumbar pad. (I correct this with a t-shirt or some such.) Second, I drive a lot of stop and go traffic (mine is a daily driver.) It doesn't make my foot hurt, but its characteristics in lower gears make slow traffic tiresome. I've driven worse in traffic, (heavy clutched muscle cars) and better (Hondas, Mazdas.) Over all, its a year old and I'm still loving it.
i agree about the clutch, i have put a small bumper under pedal stop, and , since i pulled up the carpet due to sound system upgrade( sound dampening and insulation, better speakers and head unit and amp and subwoofer) i made a wooden slanted heel rest. i have a 2019 impreza 5 speed mt ,and finally i feel more comfortable with driving the wrx.
If you think the clutch on a 2020 WRX is heavy, you should’ve driven my first car. I used to sit in traffic with a 1979 F250. My left calf was noticeably bigger.😬 Great review!
The wind and road noise is very prevalent above 65mph highway cruising. Doesnt bother me because its a sporty car. You got it for the perfomance not the commodity. Thats why you get an exhaust and or crank your music up lol. Great review tho!
You’re wrong about rear room. -The leg gap you showed was way more than 2”. -I’m 6’1” and I have 3-4” of leg room sitting behind myself in a manual 2020 wrx
Got a 2020 today and it’s amazing. Feels great to be apart of the family. And btw video guy, wouldn’t an auto-brake feature just destroy your transmission?
@@mikea8998 100%. Great gas mileage for a turbo charged engine, reliable in the snow (with snow tires***), and not to mention it drives like a badass! 1 year later my baby drives clean as a whistle with no issues :) highly recommend you’ll never give it up
I got 2020 wrx premium last week. Test drove for 10 miles and I loved it. Clutch no heavy for me, feel just the same as Mustang, shifter is not that smooth though. Disappointed that premium doesn’t come with led headlights. Same as you mentioned, cabinet is not as noisy as said in those online reviews
I would disagree with some of the cons. The Limited version does come with push button start, steer responsive headlights, USB ports in center console, and a clutch that feels perfect for a 268hp sports sedan with short throw shifter.
Ill pass on the Eyesight. I don't want a computer making braking decisions for me on something that may or may not be there. Too bad it will be an industry standard in a couple of years
This is a pretty good implementation though. The second set of eyes on the road isn't a bad thing. I've got it in a 2017 Forester XT, i'd wan't it on a rex if I was buying one.
I drove a 2020 and was extremely disappointed with the power, especially compared to my 92 LT1 corvette. The wrx also had a weird issue where it would get into boost in each gear, then cut power, and it would come back around redline right before having to shift. It was extremely choppy and felt wimpy in comparison to the corvette. Obviously the chassis sophistication of the WRX is a completely different ballgame, though.
@TheMetalGuy852 nearly all the issues you mention I have not experienced in my 2019. They made improvements to the insulation and suspension to the 2018+ so that may be part of the reason. The rev hang can be tuned out with as little as a Cobb tune, what you are experiencing is not rev hang but the slow spool down of engine RPM caused by the pulleys and flywheel weight. Rev hang feels different, and with a tune, there isn't any. Your ringlands aren't going anywhere, this is an fa20, not an ej25. And -2.84 isn't much knock at all, though if you see it constantly you must be running really poor gas because I hardly ever do. It's debatable if Subaru can see that you tuned it. The reset counter also applies to disconnecting the battery, so arguably that could be the reason it's at 0. The understeer is deliberately there because people can't drive. It's an alignment feature to make the car safer. When you start to understeer, take your foot off the gas and you will notice the weight shift forward and the car suddenly grab into the corner. This is easier for most drivers to understand and manage, so Subaru sets it up this way deliberately. A performance alignment fixes this. The clutch bite point feels great on mine. Again, changed for 18+ model years. Shifted feels nice too. I get 26mpg average, regularly get 33 on the freeway, and a friend of mine has managed as high as 40 with an eco tune. The transmission is not made of glass. That's the 2002 bugeye. The trans is out of a European model diesel and quite durable in fact. If you are clutch dumping it, eventually something is gonna let go, as with any car with this muc grip. If you drive it correctly it will last a long time and is good up to about 400hp. The brakes are fine, they don't fade unless you treat it like a race car. It has street pads. If you want to avoid brake fade put in dot4 fluid and track pads. The steering feels great in mine. The most direct and lively feeling electronic steering I've ever driven. Has good road feedback too. I think this was also improved for 2018. I've never seen or heard of anyone deleting the AC on this car ever, and I follow a lot of groups. Seems honestly beyond moronic to do that since it can just be turned off and have the same effect. Sorry you didn't get along with your 17, sounds like you were either looking for a different feel of car or the 18 maybe was more what you wanted it to be.
@@DriversOnly Yeah my buddies accord felt like a little baby spring. Felt the polar opposite lol. I just blew the engine on my 2013 BRZ and can't find a working replacement engine anywhere so now I may just have to move on :(
According to Subaru's product reps, the difference in the EPA fuel efficiency ratings between the manual and CVT has to do with EPA's ratings process. Because Subaru's user surveys discovered that most CVT-equipped WRX drivers use the sport setting for everyday driving, the EPA used that setting when they measured the mpg rating for the CVT. In practice, the CVT will have slightly better fuel economy over the manual when in its economy setting, as one would expect. Subaru's press launch of the current generation WRX had a discussion on this topic, at about the 22-minute mark of this video: ua-cam.com/video/jUOtkxoUus0/v-deo.html
Good point although I would think it will still try to keep up within the gear your in. But maybe not...but unfortunately you do lose the other features that's included in Eyesight.
I don't see how hard it would be to just set a warning telling you to shift when the cruise control is on. Eyesight on the other hand might cause some safety concern, but I wouldn't care even if it stall the car in an emergency stop.
Better than crashing right? I tested a GLI and it had all the safety features still even with the manual. I can see how adaptive cruise control would be difficult though.
Drivers Only anything’s better than crashing lol. If the engine stalls you might loose power steering and the brake booster though which sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I hope they can figure something out though because Eyesight works wonders with insurance rates
Nice I'm thinking about going for one of these next year for my winter ride I'm almost done paying off my 2016 mustang gt I'm currently looking at #1 the wrx #2 Nissan Altima awd #3 Dodge charger awd I've never owned a foreign car before only Ford and GMC cars
Nice. All three cars you've named are very very different from each other. If you've never driven a foreign car before, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Hi ! Welcome the subaru family ! :) wrx is very good for winter and the unmatched AWD !. For nissan go on UA-cam and you will see awd is very weak and only good for dayly driving.
And for the Dodge charger, the interior is superior by farrrrrrrrrrr over wrx's. You buy subaru for: powerfull awd, reliability (newer motor) for a cheap price The wrx cons are: outdated interior and gas mileage
D Car Nissan makes much nicer vehicles overall and Dodger recruited Mercedes-Benz engineers for their 2015 Dodge Charger redesign including the new eight speed transmission, most awarded touchscreen and full electronic Dash. as she stated Subarus are known for being the cheapest manufactured vehicles in terms of materials, their technology is the same as a 2011 Dodge charger if you look at those interiors. I don’t know why Subaru doesn’t improve and get cars with more than 310hp
Really good review. I own a 202 WRX Premium with 1000 miles on it. You said there was no USB port. Yes there is. Under the center armrest. I notice more road noise on certain road surfaces. Yes as far as the clutch. But I'm pretty much used to it now.
Is it all that fair to compare the current Golf-R to the WRX Sport Sedan?, If so, Your choice? Have you done a review on the Golf-R? Don't understand why VW can't compete at Suburu's price point for an AWD Sport Sedan, with manual transmission.
@@DriversOnly Thank you for the prompt reply. Though the GTI is not AWD like the Subie. I just wish VW would make an AWD sport sedan with manual trans to compete with the WRX sedan. It almost seems like VW doesn't listen to market hunger. They still have yet to come up with a smaller SUV, while the rest of the market is well on their way. ...frustrating.
I would have to agree I test drove a wrx and didn't think the interior noise was bad. Still thinking about purchasing one, but I would like to order wrx premium withe premium package.
@TheMetalGuy852 I've driven a 2016, it was pretty awesome too. I just test drive things before I buy them and make educated decisions. I almost bought a GTI but got a great deal on a WRX, so I'm hardly a fanboy. The lack of a hatch is retarded for example. I like the GTI for is refinement. I like the WRX for its direct and raw feel. I just haven't had the issues you have. I like the car the way it is, and a huge amount of other people do too, so I think it's more that you're just a hater who can't accept reality. Every single grievance you had I addressed in an educated manner and the best you've got is "fAnBOy". LMAO ok.
Good review...One thing though. You right that you cannot get eyesight package with the manual. Although you can get push button start with the Manual, but you have to get it in the Limited trim with the Hardon Kardon speaker package. (I believed) I was checking one out. It was one of my choices prior to me buying another new car.
Hum have to double check. Even though the build page says push button start with the Limited, I'm not sure you can get it with the manual. But if you can get it great! :).
^^^ This is true, but don't need Harmon Kardon package. I have a 2018 Limited 6MT, no upgrades other than short shift kit, and it has push button start.
How do you not get why eyesight features would not be included on a manual vehicle? Kinda hurts your credibility that you mention this several times when the answer is obvious...
I got one about 2 months ago and I haven't misssed a week washing it, still looks brand new. Just gotta know how to wash it and maybe get a ceramic coating on it for extra protection.
ua-cam.com/video/CFXfSBR5Q9w/v-deo.html Chrisfix is definitely a man who knows how to wash a car. Follow these steps, and you'll be able to wash your car without scratching your clear coat.
Really enjoyed your review. I drive a 18 crosstrek 6spd and the clutch is very similar. Also, going from 1st to 2nd is so hard. Because of rev hang ? it’s very difficult to go into 2nd gear. I wonder if the short throw shifter solves that issue somewhat. Not that I’m getting one on a crosstrek. Also, it won’t fall into first unless you come to a complete stop. I love the wrx but these two things can be overlooked when you have that much hp i guess.
I had a 2017 Wrx and just traded it in for the 2020 with performance package. The 2020 is considerably more comfortable to drive. Better clutch feel and noticeably less rev hang than the 2017 Wrx.
Adaptive cruise control isnt compatible with the manual. The car will stall when it cuts the power. Can't think of any car that has adaptive cruise control with a manual💁🏿♂️
I am probably still.looking at a 2020 Honda Civic Sport Sedan, but would consider the Sport Hatchback now that it finally has all the goodies the from the Sport Sedan when that came out last year, or may even consider the new Si, but I would rather have a loaded Camry XSE in either engine option. But this WRX in Premium or Limited trim in dark blue with the Sti shifter is what I would get if I really want a more aggressive driver's car. The downside of AWD is the cost of tires if you need to replace one, because most full time systems require you to get all four tires new. The CVT is the weakest thing on the Subarus if you want long life with the least amount of problems. The know head gasket problem has not be widespread during the last 8 years, especially for no. STis or modified boost WRXs. I don't need or want an STi, So this would be just right if I wanted performance and a great shifter and clutch. And Having a CD player and I believe an auxiliary audio input jack is a plus, like the Camry, something Honda does not have. So this car, even with the cloth seats would be fine. I might get factory accessories and a few other things, including the Fa story upgraded exhaust and Rockford Fosgate add ins if I don't get the top of the line sound system, if they still offer that, but I don't plan on modifying or tuning it, increasing boost and such. That probably has everything I would need and want as mentioned to drive with performance and handling in mind. Great video as always. Last July I rented a base new Forester for two days. I hardly had time to drive it, I needed it to move house down the street, but really liked it, except I would want the alloy wheels, and probably would really want the Forester Sport. For what I want for an SUV, that would probably but my second consideration after a new Toyota Rav4 TRD or Adventure.
Wow that's a lot you just said right there lol. The WRX and Civic Sport are two very different cars. WRX is closer to the performance of Type R but with AWD.
@@DriversOnly I know. The Civic Sport Sedan is probably the best, affordable buy with sportiness, but longevity for a daily driver. And gradually up to the Si. I don't need a Trpe R or STi, but the WRX would be the best if I really wanted to shift and really drive.
That's Wierd, in my Australia 2020 premium, it has leather seats, usb's in the front, push-button button start and a few other things. Must be different by region
Not as comfortable to drive as a daily (which is subjective). Plus after factoring in gas consumption of the STI and insurance rates... you may reconsider your decision.
Subaru driver’s always think their in something really badass, and everyone around them just think’s their car look’s like a normal family car on god 😂😂😂
$hit box!!! Dont buy the WRX, skip it. Straight to the Sti or wait for next model. Stupidly tore up $10k in 6 months but Im so glad I got rid of mine. Literally EVERYONE who I have met who bought a WRX wished they bought the STI.
Not me. I test drove a WRX and an STI. Sti was, admittedly, nice. But for me, and my driving, the plain WRX was plenty. I've had it a year now and regret nothing. Drive both and make up your own mind.
ILUV2SK8 504 yea I’m not a fan of the 2015+ models myself, personally I would love to see a hatch though. Just my opinion on that though, it’s a very common vehicle and literally almost every time I look it’s a female driving it, so it just comes off as a very feminine car
This "corolla" had AWD and shares nothing with the corolla. If that's not your thing then cool, but it's still one of the fastest cars you can get in its price.

Those fender vents are non functional. They are blocked off. Pure aesthetics. Looks nice though.
Jovany Paredes he said side vents are for additional cooling 😂 😂 😂
They're meant to give that wide body look for so it can run a thicker tire tread.
Due to the layout and compact engine packing, those vents wouldn't make much difference anyway.

Nice, interesting...did you always drive cars with heavy crutches?
No just wrx and sti
Yeah it’s not heavy at all nothing to complain about lmao
Cant wait till 2021 to see what Subaru have coming
With the new platform, the WRX should be bigger, more comfortable and more powerful :).
Do a search on the 2020 Subaru Levorg to get some clues. The front is similar to the new WRX sedan. There is also a new 1.8 liter turbo engine.
Drivers Only it sure will 👍
Moss Miller I’ll check that out
Drivers Only ...Is it going to be a WRX disguised as a Legacy? Like the Spec B was considered the adult version of the older WRX?

Second, I drive a lot of stop and go traffic (mine is a daily driver.) It doesn't make my foot hurt, but its characteristics in lower gears make slow traffic tiresome. I've driven worse in traffic, (heavy clutched muscle cars) and better (Hondas, Mazdas.) Over all, its a year old and I'm still loving it.
Kirk thanks for the feedback and awesome to hear!
i agree about the clutch, i have put a small bumper under pedal stop, and , since i pulled up the carpet due to sound system upgrade( sound dampening and insulation, better speakers and head unit and amp and subwoofer) i made a wooden slanted heel rest. i have a 2019 impreza 5 speed mt ,and finally i feel more comfortable with driving the wrx.
If you think the clutch on a 2020 WRX is heavy, you should’ve driven my first car. I used to sit in traffic with a 1979 F250. My left calf was noticeably bigger.😬 Great review!
I don’t care what anybody says, the wrx’s have one of the nicest steering wheels
Then you haven't been in really nice cars.
FXIIBeaver no I’m saying for a budget sports car
@@brendanfogel4573 not at all what you said. You claimed it has one of the nicest wheels.
FXIIBeaver yeah steering wheels that’s what I said
Wrx and sti fans better get those 2020 looks like the refresh aint going to be what people are waiting for
The wind and road noise is very prevalent above 65mph highway cruising. Doesnt bother me because its a sporty car. You got it for the perfomance not the commodity. Thats why you get an exhaust and or crank your music up lol. Great review tho!
I own both a 07 Impreza and 18 Limited WRX. Love em both.
I don't find the clutch heavy at all in my 2019.
Maybe you're use to it? Have you been driving WRXs for a while?
@@DriversOnly Had an 06 Impreza and a 97 Wrangler before that, so I probably am used to it.
Drivers Only I can back that up. It’s honestly too light for me. I don’t know if it’s just me but the throw also feels longer.
It's a men clutch...hell yeah!
I learned on an old porsche 911 and the clutch on that car feels like lifting 40 lbs. The wrx's clutch feels much lighter in comparison.
Hey bro are they reliable?
@@mikea8998 100%. Great gas mileage for a turbo charged engine, reliable in the snow (with snow tires***), and not to mention it drives like a badass! 1 year later my baby drives clean as a whistle with no issues :) highly recommend you’ll never give it up
My 2018 sport tech was crazy loud, 2020 not, maybe better dampening between the trunk and back seats?
I got 2020 wrx premium last week. Test drove for 10 miles and I loved it. Clutch no heavy for me, feel just the same as Mustang, shifter is not that smooth though. Disappointed that premium doesn’t come with led headlights. Same as you mentioned, cabinet is not as noisy as said in those online reviews
Always have loved Subies very reliable car as long you take care of it. I have eyes on to the STI
Will have to test out a STI soon, maybe in the snow :).
Brandon Amador ....This is the key, keep up with maintenance and don’t beat up on the car.
I would disagree with some of the cons. The Limited version does come with push button start, steer responsive headlights, USB ports in center console, and a clutch that feels perfect for a 268hp sports sedan with short throw shifter.
Larry no push start button for 6 speed manual
Drivers Only yes there is. Limited trim. I have a 2018 in one
eye sight isn't available on manual y transmission because it had to do with breaking (from what I was told by subaru)
@@cyc00000 im sure its helpful but its the times when the systems brake for no reason increasing the risk of getting rear ended/causing an accident
Good video George. I miss my bugeye already. Hope Subaru keeps pumping these out.
The Limited 6 speed manuals have had push button start for years.
I learned how to drive manual in this car and I DEFINITELY agree lmao im a few months in and still haven't got the clutch down yet
Lol that clutch definitely takes time to get used to
I’m actually excited to trade in my frs to get a wrx . Hope they have a good Black Friday deal next month
Wait for the new model if you can.
TheMetalGuy852 lol I need more info
@@jamalallen8047 please see my reply to his reply. Might help give you some context.
Did you get it? Yesterday was black Friday
Good review, explaining the nuances of the car. Well done!
Thanks appreciate it.
Actually keyless entry and push button start are standard on the WRX Limited manual.
I learned on heavy clutch. Glad you mentioned its heavy :D
Nice! Yea its very heavy especially compared to Hondas.
@@DriversOnly Yeah my buddies accord felt like a little baby spring. Felt the polar opposite lol. I just blew the engine on my 2013 BRZ and can't find a working replacement engine anywhere so now I may just have to move on :(
I personally thought that this clutch was waaay easier to operate than the Si's clutch. Did not have low-end power like the si, however.
Smart entry and push button start should be standard.
I had a wrx but after I tested a STI there is no going back.
in aus market u get push start standard steering headlight, and all window auto and mirror auto fold.
even in base trim
Limited does have push to start with manual
Nice videos George great insight
Thanks!
how will adaptive cruise control work on 6spd manual? The car cannot shift itself... unless im missing something
I think they don’t offer eyesight with the manual because it would stall out the engine if it hit the brake
Great video!
You buy subaru for: powerfull awd, reliability (newer motor) for a cheap price
The wrx cons are: outdated interior and gas mileage
I havent tested a Golf R yet but I believe the Golf GTI is the same class as WRX. R is competing with the STI. Hope to test them soon.
Still thinking about purchasing one, but I would like to order wrx premium withe premium package.
do it, you wont regret
This guy is going around trashing the WRX but 90% of his issues are either non issues or already remedied.
10/10 great car.
LMAO ok.
Great review great car, waiting for the 2020 I want to see how Subaru is going to change things around. But amazing review bro.
Thanks Joseph, appreciate it.
@@DriversOnly so what you think the SI or WRX? And which one would you rather have as a daily driver?
@@DriversOnly I have a 2020 WRX Limited with 6MT and it has a push button start. You still have to have the clutch pressed in for the car to start.
How do you not get why eyesight features would not be included on a manual vehicle? Kinda hurts your credibility that you mention this several times when the answer is obvious...
Usb ports are in the center console. And eyesight is annoying honestly.
The best part about this car is that it lacks driver aid systems .
for now till 2022 when pre collision braking becomes mandatory on all cars
Thank you for this review. I will definitely buy a Honda
Remove clutch assist spring behind the pedal to fix the clutch issue
What in the fuck is a clutch assist spring
I like how you coast a red light in 2nd gear. :P
I want a black wrx so bad, but the swirl marks and dirt the second you finish car washing 😪😭😫😩
I got one about 2 months ago and I haven't misssed a week washing it, still looks brand new. Just gotta know how to wash it and maybe get a ceramic coating on it for extra protection.
Sounds like someone needs to learn how to properly wash a car
ua-cam.com/video/CFXfSBR5Q9w/v-deo.html Chrisfix is definitely a man who knows how to wash a car. Follow these steps, and you'll be able to wash your car without scratching your clear coat.
Thank u for update
You're welcome!
the Subaru WRX STI 2020 costs like 100k$ in my country, im so sad :(
Really enjoyed your review.
Thanks for sharing, I haven't testing a crosstek yet but will in the future.
I’ll check you out. I’m from Chicago as well.
I was gonna buy the 2020 but they didn't come out with the hatchback. I hope they will in the coming years.
Presto same I’m really hoping they bring back the hatchback next year
Fuel economy
13 mpg ?
3:18 mark
Idiot
lol even my sti gets better than that...
thats what the computer says, it doesnt mean that is it will be when its hand calculated
It’s pretty good, I got the premium wrx 2020
Stick or cvt?
Drivers Only stick 6 speed
Bruh. Doing boost pulls with the AC on? My heart hurts
Really want.. but just financed a new truck.
But do have a 2zz swapped mr2 spyder in the driveway which is way more fun
I heard they fixed the rev hang a bit is it true?
I didn't notice any rev hang.
I had a 2017 Wrx and just traded it in for the 2020 with performance package.
The 2020 is considerably more comfortable to drive. Better clutch feel and noticeably less rev hang than the 2017 Wrx.
@@JRStefanos drove a 15 but own a 19. Clutch is softer but rev hang is annoying.
Yes I've got a 2020 Subaru wrx premium edition with performance package
Adaptive cruise control isnt compatible with the manual. The car will stall when it cuts the power. Can't think of any car that has adaptive cruise control with a manual💁🏿♂️
Good point
Honda Accord Sports that are manual have adaptive cruise control. You just have to be smart about what gear the car is in if it starts slowing down.
Must be different by region
even the base trim has push start but no leather seat and keyless entry in aus
You might as well get a used one since the new gen is coming out.
And risk a turbo going out because Subarus get molested as badly as mustang's? No thanks.
if ure not gonna give it revs to the red and change at least 3 gears doing so test drive is useless
asking the question in the title leads to a dislike. shame on you.
Anybody that owns a WRX know the mufflers are disgustingly huge
Is it still good ? Of course its good its been perfected since 2015 ! What a stupid click bait !!!!
Thanks for your support!
@@DriversOnly lol trolls gonna troll.
Why buy the WRX when you can just pay a bit more and get the WRX Sti...
The WRX Sti is a total different car.
I'll test one soon :).
Because it costs about $8k more and has an engine from the stone age with its own set of issues.
Not as comfortable to drive as a daily (which is subjective). Plus after factoring in gas consumption of the STI and insurance rates... you may reconsider your decision.
Limited; only way to get eyesight or push button start. Two things I'd rather never even know exists, that's fine and the cvt, haha, nope.
Still look the same the only difference is the year hahahahaha
Can't believe how cheap this car looks on the inside for the price...
Kirk Wagner well thats great! As long as your happy thats all that matters!
Can’t stand this car, it’s everywhere and it’s always a female driving it. I wish they’d make a hatchback wrx
Major reason why is because some don’t want to work on a 03-2013 Subaru wrx.
ILUV2SK8 504 yea I’m not a fan of the 2015+ models myself, personally I would love to see a hatch though. Just my opinion on that though, it’s a very common vehicle and literally almost every time I look it’s a female driving it, so it just comes off as a very feminine car
You have a problem with women driving this car? What are you, an incel?
meh, complete garbage... skip this overprice suped up corrolla.
keithsa41 go for a miata
This "corolla" had AWD and shares nothing with the corolla. If that's not your thing then cool, but it's still one of the fastest cars you can get in its price.
