I simply love this channel! My greatest difficulty to communicate in English is the listening, and, when I watch the videos of this channel I understand almost all the phrases and expressions which they are said. Most of them I understand without subtitles! Excellent work!
I'm coming from Poland and I remember all of these english teachers from my primary and high school. They were horrible! I cannot remind myself any interesting or funny lesson, only constant doing of exercises from workbooks. In the '90s and '00s Polish program of teaching english was focused on the grammar mainly, the teachers were very demanding and gloomy, sometimes even agressive :> Through these all years they didn't teach me even basic english. When I started to learn by myself and I chose the methods I realized that learning of language can bring a pleasure. Anyway, thank you so much that you share your work with us!
I was watching and i thought in how do you bring yours teachings in a easy way. You're the best teacher in this world and speak for everyone understanding. Thank You!
Your approach to teaching is inspiring.. I always personalise my classes.. Many courses are very rigid, so us fellow teachers have to adapt to the students needs, one2one - small groups is essential and larger groups is a complement. Thanks for all you teaching tips and methods.
Hi Christian! I'm Pasquale from Italy, I totally agree with you, learning a second language can be really difficult. Fortunately I'm very motivated to learn English, I spend at least 3 hours per day to practice English, by listening, watching, reading and when I have a chance speak with native English speaker on Skype. In my humble opinion, I think that you are a very good English teacher. thanks for teaching us your amazing and useful language. Bye for now
Good question! To make a long story short: first of all because I love it, then because I love travelling and I would be fluent in English in order to be more comfortable when I will travel. Anyway, English language is a great tool nowadays, I think that is very important to be able to speak this beautiful language because it gives you a lot of opportunities. I am an independent learners, to me practice English every day is like an habit, I do effortlessly. I like so much your videos, go on with your work. All the best, Pasquale
I think a lot of learner would be jealous of your motivation level and discipline! I'm really proud of your efforts! If you continue like this then you can have whatever level of English you want! Well done! Do you have any tips for learners who are maybe struggling with motivation and discipline?
Canguro English to remain motivated you need to remind yourself every day your goal, and the reason why you want to learn English, then you have to surround yourself of English materials. for instance: instead of reading news in your first language, read in English, the same for books, movies, songs, etc. You can put on your smartphone English podcasts, and listen to whenever you want every day even on Sunday, at least one hour per day. English has to become part of your daily life, if you want to achieve the fluency. that's it, for the moment. thanks for your all beautiful word buddy. Take care
I started to learn english 3 months ago. i'm very motivated i love this language, i spend at least 3/4 hours a day, i hope become fluent in the future. Thank you so much!!
I'd like to say that language itself could be a motivation. When you can notice some advance on yourself, when you take notice that you can listen some video a little better you feel happy and encouraged. I learnt English with classic methods at school, but in my house I did all the different things I could. Listening videos, reading books, talking every oportunity I had. And from that mix merged something good, in my opinion. I don't know what my level is, but I know that I'm better than before. Thanks Chritian and thanks all of you.
I discovered your channel 3 months ago and decided to watch every uploads from the earliest to the latest respectively. This is your 100th upload. I've been to Australia 19 years ago. Studied English at the University of Newcastle. Through the years I feel the decline of the language adequacy. I couldn't practise enough and also lost my confidence. Your lessons give me the opportunity and the comfort to remember the language. I must also say that refresh the good memories in Newcastle. My name is Tuncay and I'm from Istanbul. Thank you Christian.
Hi teacher, i just wanted to say that i find all of your videos very useful and also i truly love tha way you teach, your words are very clear and you act in a such familiar way which really makes me feel at home 😊 So thank you so much for helping me improve my english and by the way my motivation for learning english is that i really love the language so very much, i never get tired of learning, and with a teacher like you it's a real pleasure learning. So thanks again and hope you will answer to my comment. 😊
+Rosa Casiero Thanks so much for your comment Rosa! I'm really happy that you enjoy my classes. When you love a language it's easy to learn so you will advance well! See you in the next class!
My level of English is less pre intermedia. I understood 50% of video. I wish You UA-cam's motivation that you are continue to help your followers in learning English.
I really love your channel, I have been teaching English for 6 years and I have gotten a lot of tips here, I love how you adviced teachers on this video, and it's funny that you mention the course book, I work for a high school, and they make students buy the book every year, so I really hate when I have to use it more than what I really would like, the last two years what i have done is use the readings and then do my activities around the reading and not so much around the grammar topic. but you know parents always complaint that I don´t use the whole book, I really think that you should consider making training for teachers. Thanks for giving us so much value.
I want to develop myself by learning something New everyday.because it gives me satisfaction. I still remember that time when I was not able to make a single sentence & I used to think my siblings are better than me.. but as I've been learning this language & giving my all efforts to develop my skills..now, I'm able to make sentences & speak as well & my siblings often ask me about so many rules.. yes! You are right sir! Motivation is really important & interest too.. 😃
Hello Chris, I actually liked all your videos and the methods you are using for teaching it's really helpful and the reason why many English learners student fail to reach their goal is the lack of motivation. For that reason of a lack of motivation and a good teacher, classes caused me to fail many times that i tried to learn this and to express my objectives that i want to talk about but at this time I'm feeling that found a good Teacher and again i would like to thank you for your time and your useful English Language videos.
Thanks very much for your comment! I'm glad that you find my classes useful and I hope I can motivate you to start learning again! See you in the next class!
I confess that, nowadays I haven't any more motivation, nevertheless as I watch it ,I became purely motivated, it's obviously true that, when someone reach the level of intermediate, meat of them became unmotivated and unwilling, at that moment they have to inspire themselves , right now also me will get started to get up and commence to practice hard . Thank u so much teacher❤💪🌟💙
Hi, I am surprise, how easy can understand you and how long I am able keep track by yourgreate coaching. Good luck - have hit you on UA-cam. It is funy way to shaping my english every evening after job. Thanks Martin
Gday mate, as an Aussie who is trying to learn Spanish I find some of your videos very helpful (even though you're teaching English lol) I just use the same principal's for my Spanish lessons like this motivation video etc. thanks mate
I had to pause the video when you were showing the picture and mentioning about intermediate level! you're talking about something that I'm really anxious about! to be honest, I'm super upper intermediate level of english. unluckily, I have no chance of living or talking much with english native speaker to practice and develop perfectly my english skills. So yeah, I'm so confused about what to do next! I've been learning english for 1 year 3 months! any advice? thanks in advance!
+Dennis Nguyen You are in a similar situation to lots of learners all over the world. You can always improve your passive English like listening and reading by yourself, but to practice speaking and writing you will need to find someone to practice with. Maybe a good solution for you would be offer a speaking exchange with someone via Skype. I'm sure there are lots of people who want to learn your language too and you can exchange classes!
Thank you Teacher for share this video will take the message of video for try again ... I feel motivation for learn English I can understand all english conversation but my disaster grammar make feel terrible and shy :(
Dear Christian, I'll tell you what my problem is. It's not lack of motivation but lack of order and time. I mean that I don't really know how to study, how to take notes that I can review in order to activate the vocabulary or whatever I wrote down, grammar and so on. That's is basically my problem. I have had this problem from my childhood but I don't want to give up, I want to succeed. Thanks for your videos and help.
Hi! I am Spanish and in my country it is so important to say thank you and please, but the problem is that a lot of persons have lost the manners in the way. haha You film wonderful videos. I learn a lot with them. Thank you for upload them and for share the learning. Bye!!!!!!!!
G'day teacher! :) I'd like to ask you something about the 8th commandment: "Familiarize learners with the target culture." I find this very interesting and I'd like to find a couple of books about it. Could you recommend me some of them? Maybe about Australian culture or any other English speaking countries culture. (It would be better if they're not too boring or too difficult to understand.) I think it would be very useful, so I could keep learning about their culture, but I could improve my English too. Hope you can help me. Cheers :)
I think the best book ever written about English culture is this one: amzn.eu/cXSNGmY This book is funny and really interesting but it would be for upper-intermediate to advanced learners. I think the best way for beginners or intermediate learners would be to watch TV shows from the target country, so for Australia: 'Neighbours'!
+Chandrica Joseph Hi! Sometimes they are synonyms but sometimes not. The best thing is to check the dictionary definitions: en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/difficult en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/tough
"Tough" can apply to objects as a physical quality of substance - "This meat is too tough to eat". "Difficult" applies mainly to tasks, or people. This sentence combines the two words: "This meat is difficult to eat, because it is too tough". Sometimes English speakers use "tough" to mean "difficult" or "not nice". For example: "I lost my keys and can't drive my car".."That is tough".
hi Christian, my name is Dan and i am from Roumania, I'm a beginner in English. My goal in learning English is to be able to read books in this language.Do you think this is enough? And if it is enough, you think you can help me with some advice
The stuttering kill my motivations, also if i know speak basic english a lot of times i can't speak like i would like. Despite it's very hard, I try again. Also why i live in London.
First of all, It looks a little weird. I LOVE ENGLISH. Because when I speak or watch or listen English. I felt like I'm alive, excited. I want to express my thoughts and feelings naturally and fluently in English. I have some tiny specific goals. I want to read "Harry poter" in English. and I want to watch some American dramas without subtitles. These are my dream. I NEVER quit to learn English.
How about "the Apologize" ....I'm a Brazilian guy and for us in not necessary "Sorry and excuse me" all the time, this is our culture, but what do you think about this. The British people are more polite than we who speaking Latin language?

How about "the Apologize" ....I'm a Brazilian guy and for us in not necessary "Sorry and excuse me" all the time, this is our culture, but what do you think about this. The British people are more polite than we who speaking Latin language?
I think that Anglo-Saxon culture uses LANGUAGE to indicate politeness, but Latin culture uses BEHAVIOUR to indicate politeness!
Here I found a presentation discussing the original publication:
prezi.com/m/lg8tnr3gi7r0/10-commandments-for-motivating-language-learning/
