I just love everything that is old makes me feel safe
Daddy long legs is one of my favourite books. The movie is equally as good.
i guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released series online ?
@Mordechai Boone I use FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
@Remy Harvey Yea, I've been watching on FlixZone for since march myself =)
@Remy Harvey thanks, signed up and it seems to work :D Appreciate it!
@Mordechai Boone No problem :)
I grew up with this movie :-) I'm 28 now, but its still one of my favorites
Though I love to see both Leslie Caron and Fred Astaire in this film, Thelma Ritter is amazing here with her role of Alicia Pritchard.
Only Fred Astaire could make playing the drums look like dancing
Although I'm a big Gene Kelly fan, I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised how Caron & Astaire carried this movie. I see Astaire in a different light now, in terms of his acting. One thing remains obvious is that Astaire was such a gentleman & showed elegance in his dancing and demeanor. Kelly, when called for it, could do the same but he RARELY tried to be elegant in his dancing. He focused on athleticism/energy & related them to the story. Anyway, thanks for posting; this was hella cool!
When i first watched this, I didn't know FA, and thought Jervis was way too old for this part, until .......he started dancing.
Fred Astaire was so beyond brilliant!!!
His wife, Phyllis, died during filming. You bet, especially under *those* circumstances, he was beyond brilliant.
Ha. Is it just me or is the drumsticks dance he does here one of Freds coolest? ;-]
This was one of my favorites movies, it was funny, gorgeous music and great romance, thank you for posting in UA-cam
Billy Mays lovely intro here. Amazooooong!
You can't go wrong with Billy May's swingin' arrangements! I think he arranged a few more
songs in this film

Thank you for giving a movie you don't have to wait to load to long you get 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐,again thank you very much, with you if I stop at one point I can come back where I lefted off whereas others throw clips at you, keep up the great work moviema44.
What a real treat. Like so many others, this was one of my favorite movies as a child. Remember going to the old Avalon Theater in Detroit on Saturday afternoon and sitting through it twice. (You could do that in those days)!!
I hate to disagree on any forum but actually, Roland Petit only choreographed the ballet scenes at the end of the movie. Fred Astaire choreographed all the other parts throughout the movie but as usual, never gave himself credit for choreography when it came to movie credits or PR. Hermes Pan was Fred Astaire's muse but Hermes did not work with Fred on this film. In Leslie Caron's autobiography, she states that Fred taught her the dance steps. Fred was truly a GENIUS!!!!!!!
so long to see again this movie..thanks
thank you so much! i've been looking for this forever! and its in good quality!
Did you know that that music (the piece over the opening titles) was used in the reconstruction of the unfinished Marilyn Monroe film "Something's Got to Give"? It was used in Marilyn's famous skinny-dipping sequence, and was also released on a Marilyn CD anthology a few years ago (along with Fred Astaire's performance of "Something's Gotta Give).
Soooo happy to finaly find this movie online.Thank you!! :)
Favola a lieto fine con uno splendido brano (something's got to give)

You can order/buy this at Barnes and Nobles Booksellers. I found a copy at the Barnes and Nobles in Fayettevill, NC. I love Leslie Caron. She is the epitome of style, class, and grace...
The ebook is available free on Amazon. It is now in the public domain.
How come I didn't know about this film?! The novel's one of my all-time favourites and - what better way to pay homage to it than to make a classic, Astaire-starred musical out of it?...Life does give away some unexpected treats sometimes :)
Lo ricordo sempre con. Piacere. Lo visto quando avevo 15 anni
wow... 56 years old n dancing like that..wow~
What can I say... there are some awesome old movies out there. I'm glad there was never an attempt to remake it. If they did, I would rather see it on-stage since movie remakes "rarely" possess the same charm.
+1869lady I thought I read somewhere that he played the role on stage as well I may be wrong but knowing him he probably did.
MARAVILLOSO FRED
wow.. love it..
love the person who uploaded this
@Sonne000000 I didn't know that Petit died so recently. The choreography was very interesting in this movie. I've read in Caron's book that she was dancing with Petit's ballet company in France when she was discovered by Gene Kelly . She looked very comfortable doing this ballet & I see why. RIP Roland Petit!
awesome like for it💞
But quest is as peranimated series Jarvis jst only at fiest 27 yrs old. But here he looking soooo old omg... Like Papa or, Uncle...
+ here he was quite short very short in here when he talk to his worker ....
+ Dance show was here good but idk i can't imagine that Jarvis with this AVATAR ...
Yes it can happen i fell in love with a 44 year old when i was 16 so it is possible.
I'm sure this is a delightful film on its own account, but after becoming obsessed with the original novel by Jean Webster, I can't accept this Jervis haha
More benevolent men like Jervis to help out the poor and not by throwing some leftover pennies at them as most of us, the richer, do but really seeing to their future.
-gasps and screams- OH...god thank you so much^^ i looooooooooove this movie =3= i would kiss yu but...yeaah im not that kind of girl
@yippy010 I am actually female :). But I am delighted that you've finally been able to find the film!
Is it possible that someone upload this complete film with spanish subtitles ???
I can't find it in Argentina and I'd like to enjoy again this film as I did in 1955.
Thank You
Learn English!
Dónde puedo verla en español? la vi hace muchos años y me encantaría verla de nuevo pero en español.
Thanks for the upload but wish they use a bit younger main characters
The volume is too low.
disculpame, no quiero ofenderte, me encanta esta película faltaría agregarle los subtítulos porque sino no la puedo seguir, perdón
Love the theme or intro music to this song! Does anybody know the name of it? Can't find it anywhere online
yep, I see it--something's gotta give
el no esta tan viejo no has leido el libro o qe el es el niño jervie claro qe si es mayor qe ella pero no por tanto
VERY LOOOWW VOLUME...............................
Hasn't anyone noticed how anorexic looking the characters in this video appear? Seems not.
So am I being 'too fussy' because I find images squeezed horizontally to half their proper width to be totally unwatchable?
A 20-year-old college girl falling in love with a 50-year-old man?
No way
.
No way would I watch this upload this movie as presented here. Besides the annoyance of it being cut up into so many short pieces, the resolution is poor but, worst of all, the image is ‘squeezed’ horizontally by about 1½ times. AWFUL! Obviously Fred was always a little on the lean side but not this much.
Why anyone would be content to upload material in that fashion seems to me rather crazy. Moreover, for a movie of merit like this one, it is pure sacrilege.
Please don’t do this again😡
