    -15 Minutes to Airport
    When to go?
    -Pleasant & Dry: Jan, Feb, Mar, Dec
    -Hot & Unpredictable: Apr, May, Nov
    -Warm & Wet: Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct
    How to get there?
    -Fares From Airport:
    -Grab 4: ~150,000₫, Grab 7: ~180,000₫
    -Taxi: ~195,000-230,000₫

      Have you been to the Ritz-Carlton Bali? We were upgraded to a ridiculously well appointed 153 sq.m. suite (that can be booked cash for just around $500-600) that puts these villas to shame. Also the food and service was impeccable. From what I can tell, I don't see how this rivals that Ritz at Bali. Best NEW resort in Asia? There are probably less than 10 new resorts in Asia

      I said best NEW resort in Asia, as you said in your first comment- and it is very easy to stand by. I’m not sure how you think there are less than 10 new resorts in Asia. I have a list of hundreds of properties which have opened in Asia just in the past 2-3 years, likely closer to 1000.

    My husband and I stayed here last November and to say it was a dream is an understatement. I actually came to your channel just to watch this video so I could relive our stay through another POV. We did club access for half of our stay to treat ourselves and celebrate our anniversary and every detail was spectacular. The main entrance makes you feel like you are in a Bond movie. Truly incredible place and an even more incredible video. Well done!

    Thank You!!! I have been waiting for this for so long. We came back to this incredible place 2 weeks ago and it was again phenomenal like 2022. All the staff greeted us by names and the GM came every day to check for us, they surprised us on my birthday and left a present when we sadly had to check out again. We stayed in a King Terrace Pool Villa which i highly recommend. It won't be our last visit here. It is btw the very first Hotel we ever stayed twice, and we travel a lot. Thanks Kevin.

    Have been here last year and it is definitely one of my best hotel experience.
    Staffs here are always proactive to your need to provide best service and in the same time has good interaction without making you feel alienate to the place. I have the access to the club also provide another level of service which in my opinion surpass many other ultra-luxury tier hotels and resorts.

    Great episode. I know you wont change for me... but it would be nice from my perspective to have some wide angle in the room. Shooting a narrower focal length leaves me much to be desired. I hate when people tell me what to do with my videos lol.... so here I am. Great content dude!

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому

      Haha I don't mind it at all... if I did, I wouldn't have quarterly viewer surverys lol. For the wide angle, I would love to also, but I am OCD about image noise and especially in lower light conditions like a hotel room, it's way too prominent. As soon as iPhone makes a wider angle lens that is equally as good as standard, then you'll see a lot of wide angle shots. Thanks for watching 🩴

    Congratulations on 250th episode, couldn't lift my eye off the resort. Honestly couldn't say who did a better job, IHG for designing the resort or you for capturing and commentating so eloquently. Your 100th episode resort showed what perfection is, 50k subs special resort truly shows what the channel stands for and this resort shows how good of a reviewer you are😍😍😃, the visualisation 🏝is spot on and what one can expect from the resort is veracious. Never seen that beautiful and well made sand at a beach resort, 262 pools is mindblowing, never in my wildest dreams dreamt a resort with that many pools, this resort can be a world on its own. It's 73k IHG points now. The service and setting can deceive to be a boutique resort. I have one question though , is the beach swimming friendly?

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому +3

      Yes, one of the best and most clever things about the design is the fact that at no point does it feel like a "big resort"... Thanks as always for the kind remarks 🙏🏼

    We just got back from this resort (planned our trip around visiting here, based on your review) and it was spectacular. Everything you mentioned, plus I think the food has improved. Although we stuck to the Rice Market.
    Another thing was the incredible activities schedule. Our fav was the daily cocktail masterclass led by their head bartender, each day specialising in a different spirit/drink, very interactive and social with tonnes of free cocktails. Daily Vietnamese cooking classes, lantern/candle/Vietnamese hat making. You keep them all as souvenirs. So much variety & never felt penny-pinching they took every opportunity to give you something.
    Cannot wait for the Bali property! Gone straight to the top of the list.

    I started to watch your channel about a year in (but caught up on all the early videos since) and i've heard you say that the reason you started it was to support tourism recovery in Vietnam post covid. Just booked Vietnam family holiday for 2024 which includes one of the hotels you have reviewed. This is our first trip to Vietnam, so in that small way i think you can be proud that your hard work on the channel has achieved that goal. Of course, now you've reviewed this one i'm wondering whether to change my plans....

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому +2

      Thanks very much for that, I appreciate it. As for your holiday, I'll simply say, this is the best resort on the island, full stop. If it's within budget, I'd recommend staying at the Regent if your plans are flexible. Rarely do I refer commenters to the comment section- in fact this might be the first time lol- but you can see in the comments on this video how many people who have been there also rave about it. The one and only complaint I've seen so far was that there were too many kids (back in 2022)... Just my 2 cents. Enjoy your trip 🗺️

    I'm a big fan of nice resorts around the world. My only complaint with Asia is that it is so often "Graysia", regardless of the time of year. You got some nice sunny weather for this tour, but I imagine the charm of the place would be much less favorable with big gray clouds hanging overhead. I've come to learn that a great many Asian people actually prefer the clouds. I think that is very odd, but to each their own. As for me, you will find me chillin' near a desert.

    Great point about landscaping and pool. The main draw card for us when choosing a resort is lush landscaping and a rambling pool. I'm curious, as you are probably the best creator of this genre, have you ever run into other 'wannabee' TFFT at the same resort? Thank you very much Kevin. Very enjoyable and interesting. I already noted this place for the case if i should visit Vietnam. For all the other viewers who are wondering how much your rate was in dollars :
    HG points are worth about 0.7 to 0.8 cents each on average when redeemed for free nights at IHG hotels123. This means that 43,000 IHG points are equal to about $301 to $344 in value towards free night awards. However, the value of IHG points may vary depending on the redemption option, the hotel category, and the availability of the 4th night free benefit for IHG credit cardholders

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому

      I'll note that your valuations are generally correct, but I only redeem IHG points when the value is $0.0095/point or higher- there is never a time when this property is available for a cash rate under $400. Thanks for watching 🩴

It sounds like you didn't eat at any of the restaurants? We are splashing out and getting Regent Club access as well so hopefully this is worth it.

      I don't think the island could support double for such a large property, but I could definitely see +30-40% in the years to come. For now though, they'll struggle as it is with their prices because of Vietnam's slow recovery. Thanks for watching 🩴

    • @tfft
      @tfft  9 місяців тому

      I think your conversions are a bit off, the most expensive dessert on the menus I included was under $10... under $8 when the standard IHG discount is applied. 240,000 VND = $9.44 USD

    That shot at 34:30- wow! Super nicely done.
    We are heading back for our 4th stay soon to what we call our “sanctuary of quietness”, escaping the daily buzz of Saigon. Started our stay with the 85 Sqm “standard”room and thanks to IHG privileges stayed last time in the magnificent and huge 165 SQM Sky Pool Villa suite (pool 135 out of the 262). I am not keen on the villas just because of the set-up.
    Once more, I am totally aligned with your overall review and as far as Ocean club goes, it is indeed a hit or miss. We tested many dishes over the last 3 stays and sometimes it was great, sometimes just a miss.
    The “eggs Benedict challenge “ which I conduct in every 5star place was within a Top 3 but our Hollandaise was still original. The creative liberty of the head chef becomes a risk it seems.
    You didn’t eat at Uni so no score on that one but my gut tells me you might have ended up with at restaurants score of 10/20 vs 15.
    The GM is doing an outstanding job and I look forward to his intentions for further improvement, building towards ultimate perfection. If IHG does better , my shares will do as well 🙌🏼

    Excellent hotel! Wish we could relocate it to Hawaii or the Caribbean to marry this fantastic hotel with a stunning beach. Nothing they could do about the beach, but the hotel they certainly got right. Except maybe the food- but we are used to very good Vietnamese food as we live in a city. We were also picky after eating the superior food in Cambodia (Park Hyatt there is dreamy!)

    Visited in Nov 2024 with my wife for 4 nights. In general love Kevin’s reviews as they are pretty spot on. Have to say the food quality was up to Kevin’s previous review, left us wanting. Eggs in the morning runnier than a grade 1 nose with the flu. Asked them to be better cooked and same thing next two days. I guess it is all part of growing into an international destination. Did not like the fact that they did not want to allow us to borrow towels for off resort excursion, so we just “kidnapped” two towels for the day. Otherwise, I’d say this is a 4/5.

    thanks for all your video reviews about PQ resorts. While researching a good resort option for our family, I came across one video by you and ended up watching them all!
    As you mention you have experienced most of PQ beaches, do you think there's a significant differences between Khem beach vs others? We would love staying at Khem beach but our options would be limited and we plan to go in a couple of weeks. We're also considering Regents and Vin Wonderworld (because only they have the 3 buffet meals option for our young kids). But I don't know if the beach is much worse in the north or west than the south.
    Appreciate your perspective! Thank you!

    • @tfft
      @tfft  10 місяців тому +1

      Khem is simply shallower than the western beaches so it looks prettier sometimes. Otherwise, seasonality and weather are more of a concern than which specific beach you’re at.

      @quyennguyen9797 10 місяців тому

      @@tfft I see. We don't have control over the weather but in your experience, seasonally is Khem beach generally pretty in mid April? I've read that some beaches can get dirty (trash washed up to the shore) or just fiercer waves. Thanks!

      Filming inside spas (and children's clubs) is normally something I don't attempt as I've noticed that's the quickest way for a hotel to suspect that I'm making a video about them. So please could you remind me.
