***** About Venison for Dinner *****
Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey! Our family- Kate and Marius plus our five kids, have always enjoyed living a homemade life whenever possible. Moving 1000 miles north in 2017 to Northern BC, Canada upped our game even more. We live on a 34 acre homestead and get a kick out of things like raising our own meat, dairy and vegetables. Theres plenty of failures, you’ll be sure to see those here too. We’re a homeschooling family who believes life is the best teacher but we do hit the books in winter. I’m so glad you’re here, I hope you stick around!
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

My wife and I are moving more in your direction everyday, we sold our town home and moved to a 32 acre homestead ( starting from scratch) livestock, birds and gardening. Your videos are awesome!! A rolling meal plan sounds fantastic.

New intro? Love it! Oh, we put butter, milk, AND sour cream in our mashed 🥔. aaawweeee. Rowan was SO EXCITED. Another good video! PERFECT ending😉

    1) I adore the new intro! I would have squealed but I was getting the baby to sleep! 😂
    2) How in the world is Freya a little lady now!? She was just a tiny tot. I suspect it happens as it does to my children but I see mine everyday ☺️
    3) My children get dough from my cooking as well.
    4) God bless you all and keep you all always 💕
    5) What is soft sourdough? I would assume like a sandwich bread type of thing but, hrm, I don't know! I never heard of it.
    6) Undercooked waffles are brilliant!
    7) I don't drink anymore but I want to try that viking mead😂
    8) We're in MN, and have no snow yet. It is very unusual and I am quite unhappy about it. We may just have to head to Alaska... That's similar to your neck of the woods, eh?
    9) HUGS TO YOU ALL!

"I Honestly Loathe Play-Doh"..... I totally understand and sympathize!!!
Try modeling clay instead! It doesn't dry out (and ruin absolutely everything it does so on), the kids can keep reusing ad infinitum. Colors get mixed - oh well just more grey, green or black. Very fun to experiment with. Kids stay cleaner, non-toxic, nothing ruined and MUCH(!!!) cheaper initially. Can actually last until all have out grown and beyond if properly cared for. 🙃

My step father was from Sweden. He called buttermilk raw and set out like that - Long Milk. It was delicious! Can't find it like this anymore - he mourned the fact. Nothing tastes the same.

What is lovely is that you had an opportunity to try something many of have never had. Do they still make it that way in Sweden?

Several years ago my dad made dandelion wine. It turned out strong too, and sweet. So he treated it like dessert wine and served it in sherry glasses for sipping on, versus wine glasses where you tend to have bigger mouthfuls.

We love pickled beets! Some of us like plain ones cooked with salt and butter and a splash of fancy vinegar.

It's good, we love it. Just make sure you're in an area that doesnt have diseases in deer.
