The only NJPW match I've ever seen of Okada was the Danielson match at Wrestle Kingdom. Barely know his history but his current presentation in AEW is working for me

I've always known Okada was godly good. But I only know him as a babyface. I've never seen his Heel NJPW work. But my god this heel Okada is making want to see more because he's doing it so well! It's giving Corporate Okada feelings and that's something that AEW can really use as a storyline throughout the company booking.

At least Mercedes is still an active talent. Saraya was basically brought in as a manager with like three matches. I knew her arrival wouldn't herald anything of substance

I’m a diehard wrestling fan & even though I’m more of a WWE guy , I love what AEW is doing & I hope they continue to thrive however if they fumble all these new signings as of late, it’ll be more of a disappointing reminder that AEWs biggest rival is itself bc of the constant self sabotage.
Imo they have been fumbling for awhile. They need a real booker. They have the talent there.

McDonald's stopped offering 24/7 breakfast here too. They used to have a smaller breakfast menu that's offered 24/7 but that's gone now too.
In MN we had 24/7 breakfast for like a year. As well as the 2/5 breakfast sandwiches. Now a meal with an extra sandwich costs half my monthly rent unless I use the app

I get why some people are hesitant to trust that this time will be different but I do think some of it is stubbornness. AEW has legitimately gotten better in recent months with their women’s booking. Multiple stories, more matches, higher prominence etc etc. and I feel like people just… don’t admit that. Plus, Mercedes is just incomparable to anyone else they’ve signed in the women’s division. She’s a bigger name, a bigger star, a bigger draw, and (more significantly) a bigger financial outlay than anyone else they’ve signed for the division. Obviously that could be different if they booked it better but we’ve missed that moment, we’re in the post Mercedes era now. From a business perspective, they HAVE to push the women’s division to make their investment in Mercedes worth it from a purely monetary perspective. I have hope, both from optimism and business cynicism.
The bew signings need to stop coming in saying their gonna change things and make an impact. Unless they were hired and given creative freedom by TK, its all lip service
I would think the plan is Willow gets her shot at Julia, and then maybe Mercedes gets her shot after. it'd be pretty cool if Willow won the title and then she and Mercedes revisited their NJPW Strong Women's title match.

I feel like a section of the IWC REALLY want all this change , evolution, and drastic improvement in AEW from this or that. Honestly, tho it really feels like you guys are trying to convince yourselves as much as us, the audience. Personally, i have no ill will towards AEW, but you guys dig, extrapolate, and many times completely fabricate stories and motivations, and dig real deep to find some depth. Where most of the time there is none. I appreciate you want to be excited, and you really WANT AEW to be something I don't think in its current form it can be. I think the fanbase has become very insulated, and TK has allowed himself to follow suit. And now they have a toxic positivity culture where nothing is bad, so nothing can improve and criticism is almost always rejected as "hate" "bad faith" or "dishonest." This feels like the 100th "big announcement" and "big debut" that's going to fix everything, but it's all icing and esthetic because, ultimately, the vision is the same.

She definitely is the weakest. I mean her entire WWE run was full of botches and her being a ragdoll. People talk about Kelly Kelly couldn't wrestle but leave her out as some wrestling God.
I thought AEW Big Business was a good show last night and at this point the TV Ratings doesn't really matter because of how things will be at the end of this year going into 2025 but the demo of Dynamite was really good

It was terrible & annoying after the 4th CEO. Presentation was as far as appearance was great though
It immediately got the chant over huge with the crowd. Same as Seth’s song having the chorus of voices, or the woah. Or jey leaning into yeet heavily. It’s an easy way to get a crowd loud and excited for a person

💯 too many people pretending to like women's wrestling just to be polite. When I skim through the shows, I don't have time to watch the girls matches. Bring back the bra and panties matches and I might find a few minutes.
