    You know...I just did Rock to fakies and Axel stalls when I was 14 years old. Never thought about any of it. I went for it, they happened. Now i'm 45 and my mind is so worried about slamming I find it hard. It IS ALL ABOUT commitment and confidence. Great Video.

    I slammed my whole existence last night doing this. Lol. Then while I was on the ground in the middle of the mini half pipe, my 6 yr old yelled at me for blocking his flow into the bowl end. No love. 😄

      Have not been yelled at by a 6 yr old for blocking flow once. Yet at least lol. Sound s tough though. You got it next time !

      Same, finally landed it last night and was able to do it after that. I had been able to on the smaller coping before that.

      Lol. Nice. I did the same thing slamming on a rock to fakie, still scares me because my parks qpipe is very steep and irregular across it’s coping. Oh well. Extra challenges

    Helpful video...even though I've been able to land rock fakie on quarterpipes I'm used to, I want to be more confident when I go to a new park/spot!!

    • @Sketchydave

      Repetition will give you that every time confidence. At this point if it’s not 7ish 8ish ft I really don’t worry about hanging up. Which I’m beyond thankful for, because I don’t have to worry about everyday hip pain. 😅😅😅

    Great video! Thanks for the tips. I've recently learnt rock to fakies but still falling a lot of times and hips still hurting from last week. Watched a few tutorials but hadn't heard the tip about dipping the board far over coping to give yourself more time so I'll try that

      @@Sketchydave Tried it today for 3 hours. I can put pressure on the tail and get my front trucks over the coping nicely. Unfortunately, I can't get down without bailing or falling backwards, but mostly bailing. Having to lift up my trucks while going fakie is extremely difficult for me. Any advice?

    • @Sketchydave
      @Sketchydave  2 роки тому +1

      You can if you really want to, but especially when learning it’s harder to because you don’t have the muscle memory to over exaggerate it like that consistently without getting hung up.

    My problem is, I get caught on the coping

    • @Sketchydave
      @Sketchydave  3 роки тому +1

      That's where getting further over coping and coming back with a fuller motion will help. Once you get the muscle memory you'll be golden. Make sure not let your shoulder dip left or right. Want to make sure you've got enough speed to get half way over usually. Usually the more you exaggerate a rock the more control you have
