    I first saw this video a few weeks ago and finally made it and it was SO tasty! While it was on the stove top I added in a small can of no salt RoTel tomatoes w/green chiles and also a diced up jalapeno b/c I like it a little spicier. I had some of it on top of spaghetti squash, dipped in some celery sticks and scooped even more up with a spoon haha. SO GOOD. Now I am ridiculously full. I will have more restraint next time. I think. I was surprised at how much it made as well. Thank you for this recipe!

    You gotta blend it longer! It works! Takes about 5 minutes. All of a sudden you’ll hear a difference and the sauce won’t be coming up the sides of the blender so far. I do mine on high power (7-8) .. I make this all the time, very similar to Jill McKeevers recipe.

    So I tried making the cheese sauce on from Jill McKeever and other wonderful vegan vloggers, and I really did not like it at all. I think some of us have to ease into the yeast world. However, I tried your HNTD recipe, with the addition of the summer salsa, and I also went a little easy on the yeast and I loved it. (The first version I made also had some lemon juice or something else you did not add) SO SO much happier with this version. Also very nice on the side with rice and beans for a work lunch. Thanks so much, really enjoying your videos and journey!

    Great video and recipe! Thank your brother for his service, for me; my son-in-law has been an officer in the Army for awhile now, and a few years ago (around when I had started my UA-cam channel in 2015) he had adopted a WFPB lifestyle. He has realized great results and benefits...in a profession where physical fitness is incredibly important, he has improved his physical fitness test score and overall health and well-being. Maintaining this lifestyle in military, he has told me, can be a bit challenging at times...he is an Active Duty National Guardsman that works in an armory near his home, but for the last 2 years he had to spend some time in South Korea. He has also deployed to Kuwait and Afghanistan for a year each; he has told me that, while away, it is more difficult to control what he eats because military chow hall lines are filled with many meat and dairy options. I wonder if your brother has had similar experiences with food options/availability in the military? I know Memorial Day is for honoring particularly fallen servicemembers, but still know I appreciate your brother's service. Thank you! Keep on making these great videos!

      Thanks so much for watching!! I will let my brother know. He has said when he had to go to training it was hard to stay plant based healthy. Who knows though maybe the military will pick up that this is the way to eat and feed those who are serving.

    You just need to let it go longer in your Vitamix. It takes about 4 minutes and you will hear the difference in the blender and see the difference that it is not rising up in the blender as much. That is when it is done. You don't have to put it on the stove.

    HI could i use something else instead of corn starch could i use arrow root powder would that work? could i use steel cut oats instead?

    • @TheFrandall
      @TheFrandall 4 роки тому

      I don't think steel cut oats would work well-- you want to add body to the sauce and the rolled oats work well for that. I think steel cut oats would maintain their form and not incorporate well. Are you allergic to corn? If not, from a health standpoint, I suggest buying organic corn starch. Most corn grown in the US is GMO. Good luck with the recipe. I find it to be super tasty.
