The musicians look frustrated with this conductor. He seems to do a lot of talking, but is not really saying much.

He is saying quite a lot. At this level, it's more about interpretation (both the musical instruction and comprehending the conductor). Experienced (orchestral) musicians will know how to understand what he is saying.
Doesn't conduct with much feeling 👎
