We found the cat trying to jump out of a dumpster, I thought she was looking for food and got stuck in the dumpster, so I leaned the trash bin a bit to help the cat go out. What we saw next, shocked us.
Somebody thought it's funny to tie a bag full of cans to a cat. Poor kitten ran away immediately and was going to continue running until her heart gives up because she thought something was chasing her.
Luckily we found the cat some time later...

We are Stoyan and Dessy from Bulgaria. We are not organization, neither a shelter, we are just an ordinary couple with a big dream. Everything we provide for the stray cats is coming from our own pockets or with the help of donations from our subscribers. We have 4 cats at home, all rescued from the streets - Sopolcho & Bagheera live with us while Alexa & Rijo live with Dessy's mom, who has been feeding and caring of stray animals for the last 10 years. Bulgaria is a small and poor country with lots of stray cats and not enough kind people to take them in. Our dream is to build a shelter where we could take care of many stray cats with the help of Dessy's mom. Maybe you have wondered what happened to the kitten.
She is safe but unfortunately she is not with us anymore.
Just a few days after we rescued her, we had to urgently leave home.
Stoyan's mother suffered an accident - she was hit by a motorcycle. She had severe injuries and was taken to a hospital in the city of Athens where she lives and works.
We had to travel 1200 km to take care of her.
We are very thankful to Dessy's grandma who stayed in our home while we were away and was taking care of all the cats and two newly rescued puppies.
The kitten from this video was taken by another volunteers, she was sprayed and released in another city, in an area with many cats who are fed regularly by volunteers.
Stoyan's mother is better now, she is in a rehab center, recovering from a broken pelvic bone.
We are now back home and will be able to tell you the stories of some of the animals we rescued lately.

If Karma exists, anyone who hurts a defenseless, innocent, beautiful creature is most assuredly on the worst end of it.

I believe in karma....what goes around comes around and I have no sympathy for people who abuses animals none whatsoever.
@@futuremillionaire72 In the state that I live in the United States of America animal abuse like this is considered a felony. So the person would go to jail for this horrible abuse where I live. It is horrible beyond words what this person did and people abuse animals many times move on to abusing children.

@@PawMeow At least God will bless you for rescuing, and caring for these cats and kittens, while also preventing the evil poachers from the cat meat shops for their fur, flesh and meat for humans as well. The cat meat trade is becoming a very lucrative trade since it brings in easy $$$'s, and that's all they care about. Also, Happy Chinese New Year, and the Lunar new year 4,719 for the "YEAR OF THE CAT" !!! Unfortunately, its also a tradition that dates back some 5,000 years that states that "EATING A CAT" and you will have good luck, good fortune and good prosperity for the remainder of this year as well. There is also a growing cat meat trade in North America as we speak, mostly due to unchecked immigration.

Two happy endings: Stoyan's mom is recovering well and this beautiful cat is safe and has learned there are trustworthy humans who only want to provide good food and happiness!
After her trauma, she should only want to be left alone. It will probably take months, maybe longer to get her to relax. Bless you for resuming and trying to rehabilitate her.
I pray that this beautiful kitty will one day be happy and feel secure at a forever home. really broke my heart watching the poor traumatized kitty.

It breaks my heart to see the kitty so petrified at first - I can't even begin to imagine what she's gone through as I'm sure it was even worse than the bag tied to her... I'm glad she's happy now with some other cat companions.

Patience is the key. The longest I ever spent rehabilitating a cat was 8 months. Not a single pet allowed, not a single minute of presence tolerated. Then one day, I'm laying on my couch watching a movie, and out of the blue, the cat jumps up beside me, froze in place, and I just looked at her, didn't say anything, and let her jump down on her own. The next morning i came out of my bedroom and she's sitting on my couch looking at me. I thought it was odd. Got down on one knee and got close, managed to pet her head, and startled her just a bit, but then she stopped and let me pet her head a little more. From there, she instantly warmed up. That was the moment she knew I was OK. That cat went on to be a collar around my neck, but the best part was that she would race up to strangers who came into the house and roll upside down on their chests, rubbing her face against theirs. PATIENCE. Don't surrender them to shelters because they won't warm up to you immediately. It can take a LONG time, but the reward is worth it.
I wish I had the money to come get this baby. All my cats come from an abusive background and they are amazing now. SO much love to give. Thank you guys!

Always "soften" your eyes when you look at them by blinking them frequently. When you stare, they see you as a predator. Something I learned from Jackson Galaxy who is known worldwide as the Cat Daddy. He has a UA-cam channel too.

When I brought Alex home, he had been living in the pet store with his brother for 2 months. I couldn't take them both. When Alex came home, he cried non stop for a week, and did not eat and barely drank water. It took a lot of patience and flavored treats to get him to eat. I really took a whole year for him to warm to us, and now his is easily the best cat I have ever had (he's 4 now). What did I learn? Same thing you talked about. Patience.
Sounds like Alex was utterly crushed without his brother 😭 Cats in a bonded pair can suffer very real depression when separated from each other. At the rescue I volunteered for, they had a rule that strongly bonded pairs were to be adopted together.
@@ladygodieva6298 Thanks for commenting. It took him a week just to start eating and drinking. A month to walk around us. And A LOT of months to learn to trust and snuggle to us. He still prefers some alone time, but when he wants to be found or wants attention, you can hear him LOUD AND CLEAR at 3am walking around the house until I get him and play with him. (he just turned four in Dec). He is a VERY vocal kitty and let's you know when he feels his demands are not being met or satisfied. Good thing I'm retired and can wait after his every wish.

I'm so glad Stoyan's mother is doing well, and it's wonderful the kitten has such an awesome network of rescuers like you two and the volunteers who took her in.
My dad and I rescued a cat who had been abandoned, we called her Maow Maow, and we soon discovered that she'd been abused because she had scars and she was mistrustful of us at first. But with time and patience and lots of love, she grew to love us and we let her come in the house...then she had kittens! We couldn't afford to keep both Maow Maow and her babies, so we took her to the animal shelter when the kittens were older (I'm happy to report she was adopted by a loving family!) and her little ones are now grown and beautiful.

She was traumatized so it would take time to gain her trust. So cruel, animals don't understand what is happening or why. Cats can be scared so easily.
It looked like a difficult rescue.
Knowing that you could have a cat to rescue at any time I would carry heavy work gloves & extra towels & a carrier with me in my car all the time. And canned food/ bottled water & food dished too.

I think it's great how you guys care. You can really feel how shocked the poor kitten must be. She also seems to eat well, but I am surprised that I never see a bowl with water. Wet food alone is not enough.
I was thinking the same thing! That was really bugging me. Especially for a cat that is severely stressed out and likely malnourished and dehydrated from her ordeal, it's even more crucial to provide them with constant access to clean water! They can go into renal failure pretty quickly.

I'm glad that Angel is now in good hands with the other volunteers and that she's okay! Still, again, hoping the people who harmed the kitty in the first place suffer in the most painful way possible
