She left because she knew the other cats would attack her until she smelled normal again. Every time we take one of our cats to the vet we have to separate them for at least a day until they smell normal again. They don't recognize the vet smell on the cat so most cats will hiss at the minimum.
There's also "cat business" to attend to. Resocializing with the rest of the colony, re-establishing habits, meeting new additions, learning any changes in her neighborhood... Yep, the life of a landlady has many demands
I knew Zoom would stay. The garden is her home and you are her family, no matter how shy she is. Cats are sneaky sometimes. Most likely she didn't leave for those 2 days, she was right there. Sometimes we forget that cats can hide in the smallest, oddest places. Even indoor cats... When they don't want to be seen, they know exactly where to go. Especially with Zoom. 7 years is a long time. She has every little nook and secret hiding spot memorized
I agree, she didn't leave... or at least, she didn't go far. I will add, even though she was healing, she COULDN'T go far. She wouldn't have the energy to stray too far from home. She would choose a spot more isolated from the rest of the gang, like his father's storagre room.
It is expensive but it's worth the extra expense to feed them wet food. That dry stuff has no nutrients in it. It's full of ash and preservatives and artificial flavors. It's ultra processed, like if you ate a diet of just potato chips. It's made to be convenient for people not to be nourishing for cats. Also it makes them constipated and not have wet poop, which is harder to clean up, also for people convenience. I guess it's better than starving if they really can't feed the cats real food.
@@chadwickerman No nutrients? Well that's a load of BS. You can easily see the nutrients on the label on the packaging. There's absolutely nothing wrong with dry food. And not a single ounce of evidence to show wet food being any better. Sure it maybe be tastier and more pleasant to eat, but plenty of cats live extremely long and healthy lives entirely on dry food. So really, stuff it.

@@musicloverme3993 A shy feral tom-cat of ours hadn`t had any teeth as well. He could eat dry food, and when we had to catch him for a vet-treatment with a wool blanket he had bitten the catcher through the blanket and hurt him!
Thank goodness you care so much for her that you went looking for her that night. Cats are such special creatures! I found this fun "rendition" of a cat joke: A German Shepherd, Doberman, and a cat appear before the king. The king greets the three and asks each what they believe in. First, he asks the German Shepherd who replies "I believe in discipline and loyalty to my master". King says " this is good, you can sit here at my right hand." Next he asks the Doberman what he believes in. The Doberman replies "I believe in love and protecting my master." King says "Wonderful, you can sit here at my left." Finally King asks the cat what he believes in and the cat replies "I believe you are in my seat".
Amazing how cats heal. She knows who the nice human is to take care of her is. Your sooooo good to all cats, there should be millions more like you in this world.
It’s so weird she has no teeth. I always thought her mouth looked odd but thought it must be because it’s dark colored next to the mostly white area around her mouth? Poor kitty, she must be considerably older then. I’m so glad you could treat her and that she returned home again. ❤️❤️❤️
Some cats just have bad teeth, age has nothing to do with it. I rescued a cat years ago, he was only 2 - 3 years old but all of his teeth were in horrible shape and many had already fallen out. The vet pulled out 18 more. His health greatly improved afterwards and he turned out to be the best cat I've ever known.
Stomatitis is something cats can get where their body rejects their teeth, as I understand it. Sometimes they have to have all or most of their teeth pulled. Then they feel much better and go on to lead healthy lives.
Years ago, I had a cat that had a lot of teeth extracted. I felt a little guilty until years later, I went to a vet who mentioned how healthy her gums were. She, too, could eat dry or wet food, and in fact, she preferred dry food.
Her gums must be used to chew the dry food without any teeth. Amazing that she was hiding the fact. The welcome committee around the carrier when you got home from the vet so sweet. They do love each other and are aware of who is who amongst the group. .
this one brought me to tears. She knew she had to trust you to get better and even though she wasn't happy about it (being gone 2 days afterwards) she also knew when it was time to come home. Thank you for all that you do for feral cats, you are an inspiration!
Thank you for taking care of her. I lost my first cat a few years ago because I failed to realize he was sick and needed medical attention. By the time I took him into the vet they said it was too late and we let him ago. R.I.P. Bazz - You were my sweetheart, and I'm sorry I didn't take care of you when you needed me.
You can’t blame yourself. Every vet will tell you that cats act totally fine until they can’t anymore. They are exceptionally good at hiding their illnesses. It sounds like sweet Bazz had a wonderfully loving home and you provided for her what you could 💙
I have had a couple of elderly pets and I feel badly because at first I didn't know how to take care of them. It takes time and experience to learn these things. RIP Bazz You will do better next time.
Thank you walter and son. For noticing she wasnt well and for looking after her. And all the others. They are so lucky . God bless you all and good health 👍❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🙏
It was such a slow descent into illness for Zoom, she must have been feeling poorly with that infection, but then it gave you the opportunity pick her up and help her. 10 days at the vet - for a semi-feral cat! But she must have responded to feeling better and missed your really beautiful lush garden that serves food! It is impressive that she eats dry food with no teeth, though. Thank you for posting this!
It took Zoom a couple of days to realize that you were helping her to feel better by going to the vet. Glad to see Zoom is back home with you and her feline friends!
An orange male cat used to sneak onto the porch where I fed my two cats on my farm. Over some months, he was willing to come onto the porch to eat while I sat on the stairs, although I couldn't touch him. Then he got a barley grass seed in his eye. I borrowed a possum cage from the council and managed to catch him. While he was at the vet having his eye attended to, I had him neutered. Well, when I released him from the possum cage back at the farm, he took off like a rocket. I didn't know if I would ever see him again. But he was back within a week, eating with my two cats. Eventually, he became a house cat.
Zoom is such a special cat. Life can be a bit harder for really timid/skittish cats, and i'm so glad you take care of her so well and provide her with such a good home. I love seeing Zoom hanging out in the yard with her little gang.
you did such a great job taking care of poor zoom. she looks so much better, that paw had to be painful. was there anything else that needed attention? sweet cat, some day she will rubbing on your legs and purring. you show such compassion for all the cats.

Poor baby. I cried for her suffering. I pray that she is safe and well, because she deserves to live the rest of her days having a sweet life. Hello, Zoom, from Australia! 🐈🇦🇺
As I lay here in my bed at a assisted living, this video made all my pain and worries. Melt away. Cats are the most wonderful creatures to watch. Over the time span of 43 years my wife and I had about 30 cats that were feral and some of them lived with us in the house and the rest chose to stay outside where she cared for them. Vet care and food cost us a fortune. Fortunately we could afford it. We had such a great life with all of them. One time she took one of them to a vet and came back with the cat and a German Shepherd. The shepherd learned that the cats at home were off limits. They got along very well. What a great life we had. Thanks for a great video
another wonderful story that heals my heart. she's so clearly knew who to turn to in her crisis. and what a surprise that it was her paw! I never would have guessed that. Lucky Zoom, lucky indoor cats and outdoor cats and back garden cats... something is right in this world.
I can totally understand the fear you had in taking her to the vets immediately. Wisdom in getting her special food and immune support that probably helped her trust you more knowing you were paying close attention to her. I imagine she felt she could take that step and trust you with her life which she did when she went into the closet that was her saying "I'm ready ❤" So glad she came back I was wondering if she was going to go to the front yard. But after seeing how she missed the Loud cat and kittens that was just so sweet!!❤ Thank you soo much for all you do God bless you sir!
Garden of Eden for the cats for sure! However, the garden is likely hell on earth for wild birds. Cats like these kill millions of birds every year, even though many of them are already well fed by humans.
I am sorry for you that you feel compelled to rain on people's joy. How is that in any way relevant to this specific video about THESE cats? Yes, cats are predators. What effect do you imagine a comment like this has, except maybe making you feel superior and making others see you as a bore and killjoy? Do you make this comment under every cat video on UA-cam? If so, how miserable must you be? Do you comment on how much damage human beings do to almost to every location they have ever lived under every video that has people in it?
This was a classic Walter Santi video. Thank you so much for you huge heart and endless love for pets. Have you considered making Zoom's dry food with a little water to soften it? It might be gentler on her gums and make her more cheerful

I found this fun "rendition" of a cat joke:
A German Shepherd, Doberman, and a cat appear before the king.
The king greets the three and asks each what they believe in.
First, he asks the German Shepherd who replies "I believe in discipline and loyalty to my master". King says " this is good, you can sit here at my right hand."
Next he asks the Doberman what he believes in. The Doberman replies "I believe in love and protecting my master." King says "Wonderful, you can sit here at my left."
Finally King asks the cat what he believes in and the cat replies "I believe you are in my seat".
LOL!
😂👍🏻
😂😂
It's SO true!
@Sherry2836 thank you for the funny joke story 😂😂😂❤
I have been watching you for years. God bless you for loving and taking care of all the kitties! Love you. Love them!❤
Her gums must be used to chew the dry food without any teeth. Amazing that she was hiding the fact. The welcome committee around the carrier when you got home from the vet so sweet. They do love each other and are aware of who is who amongst the group. .
Yes! watching her rub against the other cats was just heartwarming as anything!
Ahhh they were probably worried about her so cute.
@magnacz, I wondered about her teeth wondering if she grew new ones (but she wasn't a young cat) or maybe she got dentures 😅 (of course not).😮😅😊
I had a cat that basically inhaled dry pellets, maybe she's not chewing much.
@@nihlify... They get the best. I'd bet their dry food is the soft, chewy kind! 😊
this one brought me to tears. She knew she had to trust you to get better and even though she wasn't happy about it (being gone 2 days afterwards) she also knew when it was time to come home. Thank you for all that you do for feral cats, you are an inspiration!
This suddenly appeared to my timeline, it’s just so sad that Zoom has passed away recently….you will be missed our dear Zoom… 😔🥹🥲
Trust is a gift.
You are awesome and many Blessings to you.
😭😿
You can’t blame yourself. Every vet will tell you that cats act totally fine until they can’t anymore. They are exceptionally good at hiding their illnesses. It sounds like sweet Bazz had a wonderfully loving home and you provided for her what you could 💙
I have had a couple of elderly pets and I feel badly because at first I didn't know how to take care of them. It takes time and experience to learn these things.
RIP Bazz
You will do better next time.
You are just an Angel helping all of these cats, bless you !
Rest In Peace sweet Zoom ❤💔
Poor Zoom. Bless you for taking care of her. (And credit to the vets, too. The scars on the fingers show how much they endure to help critters.)
you did such a great job taking care of poor zoom. she looks so much better, that paw had to be
painful. was there anything else that needed attention? sweet cat, some day she will rubbing on your
legs and purring. you show such compassion for all the cats.
Happy to see Zoom recovered fine is back at her happy home, great job.
Bless you kind people who took care of these wonderful creatures.❤❤❤
I love cats too, I wish I could have every cat in the world. Instead I volunteer at a rescue and you’re a blessing to my eyes. Thank you for all you do.
You are a wonderful guardian for your cats. Great outcome.
Thanks, now the mystery of so many cats in Turkey was solved. You take care of them in your own way, God bless you!
Stay well little Zoom! You knew you were safe with Walter and reached out for help. Good for you little lady.
What a beautiful heart you have for taking such good care of your neighbors!!
Best channel ever... the care and stories of the cats just makes my heart happy...this man is a real hero! Thank you so much for all you do! ❤
That must of cost a lot, your so special for helping Zoom.
Poor baby. I cried for her suffering. I pray that she is safe and well, because she deserves to live the rest of her days having a sweet life. Hello, Zoom, from Australia! 🐈🇦🇺
And may l add, hello Zoom from England ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much for caring for all these babies. They need you and they are grateful you are there to help them
The grey cat that Zoom rubs up against a bunch with another brown cat near the end of the video… she had such captivating eyes! What a gorgeous cat.
❤❤❤
Wonderful, my friend. Thanks so much for caring for innocent beings. Blessings to you. Pastor Diana
This is so wonderful, what a family and home! So many happy tails
another wonderful story that heals my heart. she's so clearly knew who to turn to in her crisis. and what a surprise that it was her paw! I never would have guessed that. Lucky Zoom, lucky indoor cats and outdoor cats and back garden cats... something is right in this world.
Beautiful sweet faces thank you for your care.
What a lovely story and wonderful outcome. Her trust in you is testament to your respect for her needing her own space.
All the cats and all of us can see that you are a very kind, caring and sweet soul. Thank you for your generous heart!
Zoom is so very pleased that you love her unconditionally. And that you accept her on HER terms. 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Glad Zoom is feeling better. Blessings to you, your family and all your furbabies!!!
Thank you for all the good you do! These cats are lucky to have you. ❤
For cats and cat lovers alike, yours really is the Garden of Eden!

@mikelee2213 breaking news, cats kill birds
Very kind of you to take such good care of all your sweet fur babies💕👍🏻😊
The Cat Whisperer you are. A savior and blessing for them. A compassionate human being.
Bless her! She is such a pretty little cat! And bless you to for looking after them all!
This was a classic Walter Santi video. Thank you so much for you huge heart and endless love for pets. Have you considered making Zoom's dry food with a little water to soften it? It might be gentler on her gums and make her more cheerful
