Hands down the greatest movie score of all time.Perfectly evokes the beauty, grandeur, and adventure of the American western experience, How it didn't win an Oscar is the biggest blunder in Oscar history.
As I recall it shows the journey of a family over several generations from as I remember down the Ohio River in the beginning to the Wild West with Debbie Reynolds, George Peppard and his family riding off in the buckboard to the ranch in the end in the desert or plains.
It’s about time someone downloaded the music from “How The West Was Won “! I actually went to the theater and saw this on the BIG screen (Cinema 3 Screens) when it came out 😊I use to have the vinyl record 33 1/3. There’s a slight change though in this soundtrack. I use to play my 33 1/3 all the time. I remember the movie opened up with James Stewart on a mountain pass.
How the West was one which came out in 1962 was first shown in Cinerama it premiered in New York City premiered in Los Angeles it had an All-Star case from John Wayne Debbie Reynolds Gregory Peck and the list goes on I always recommend this film for anybody it's a classic today it was made in 1962 they never make westerns like this anymore today as it was over 50 years ago or 60 years ago and the music is iconic it's one of a kind soundtrack which you'll never hear again I recommend this to anybody that reads my review listen to the music try renting the film or even buying it it's available on DVD and that's all I could say enjoy the film how the West was won and listen to the music how the West was won thank you
It was 60 years ago as we are now in the late part of 2022. I first seen How the West was won on Tuesday, July 7,1964 at the Atco Drive In movie on U.S.30The White Horse Pike in Atco, New Jersey. The movie was always one of my most favorite of all Western movies ever made.
First time I saw this movie was early 1964. We were good then, young then, naive then. I would be off the coast of Vietnam at the end of the year. I only have one question: What the hell happened?

Szerintem is csodálatos zene!
Agreed. My personal theme song.
Such a wonderful score! The whole history of the weat (1855-1890) in one film! Thanks you

Evil crept back into the world. And no one stopped it. The battle STILL continues.
