Foi um dos melhores filmes que vi na minha vida e têm uma composições mais bonitas, como dos outros grandes clássicos. É um filme que vai ficar na memória da gerações para sempre
This story was classic, the film amazing, and the music brings you into another time and place. I saw it when it first came out as a kid. It was girls' night mom, aunt, cousins and grandmother. Although then I didn't fully understand the nuances of the story I was in awe at it's beauty. Have seen it at least 10 times over the years and grown with it.
He's gone. Omar died today at the age of 83 from a heart attack. God will rest his soul, and crown him for a job well done here on Planet Earth. He was so handsome, so real so talented. Thank you Omar for your purpose driven life that was fulfilled.
+sandra clory Dear Sandra: yours was a very beautiful and fitting tribute and uleugy (sic) and am glad I saw it. Thank you. What a wonderful and courageous guy he was and will be remembered.
I just happened on this again and your tribute still moves me. He is greatly missed. What a guy. if only all the world and everyone in it was as international and accepting as he. We'd be a better planet. Married to a Jewish woman and the proud father of a guy child and loved dearly and equally. Good role model for the rest of us on earth.
This was his most glorious of movies. His eyes when he can't get Lara to hear him on the bus (trolly?)! But he will always be "my first ruffled shirt." (Funny Girl)
I do not remember how many times I have seen this movie since I saw it first in 1967 in London. I have the movie in DVD and the original soundtrack music in cassette. Still love it.
I have the original album, original soundtrack unsurpassed. Original movie the best, at age 13 and now in my 60's. remains probably the best movie in my time, it is the Gone with the Wind of my generation
On the flipside of sixty myself, I couldn't agree more. One of my mother's favourites and I have to say, though before my history lessons took me back to the early 20th century - October Revolution and on to the Soviet era, a story and cinema classic that has and will remain indelibly printed on my soul.
1st time I saw his awesome movie Early 60's and now I am 76 and still listening " LARA'S" THEME MUSIC SINCE I HAVE CELL PHONE FOR 13 YEARS AND WATCH THE MOVIE EVERY NOW AND THEN DOCTOR ZIVAGO ON cassette on very old tv.
One of my faves too -- I was of the generation that saw it in theaters on a very wide screen. I read the book, and a few years later read Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert Massie and that clinched my interest in Russian art, lit and culture and at age 73 it still interests me. We were able to go to St. Petersburg about 7 years ago and had an absolutely marvelous time.
The Russian people have had to endure so much pain and suffering in their history. It is often reflected in their music and art. My heart is with my Russian brothers.
Doctor Zhivago and David Lean Masterpiece. David Lean English film director, producer, screenwriter and editor. He is distinguished and widely considered one of the most influential directors in 20th century filmed maker of all time. Of course, Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia also is my two favorite movies and I always love to watch.
This is one of the most magnificent movies of all time. I remember when this came out. I was a kid...my mother and aunt went to see it and went on and on about Omar Sharif and how wonderful the movie was.
My Mum had this album on vinyl - I’ve been told she saw the film just before I was born and it was her favourite film. Beautiful haunting music composed by Maurice Jarre particularly the main theme, which I actually prefer to Lara’s theme.
I was listening to a favorite soundtrack of mine earlier today, The Last of The Mohicans. For some reason this soundtrack came to mind as yet another beautiful recording. I remember listening to it growing up. My mother had this recording.
I started learning piano when I was in the third grade. There were two pieces my grandmother always wanted me to play when she visited: Lara's Theme and Born Free. I'm sure they were terrible performances, but she loved them, and that's what mattered.
It was the only movie my father wanted to see - and saw - after the Japanese POW horror camps he survived after the 2nd world war. He went to see the movie alone.
Starting at 9:53, this is the most accurate rendition of Somewhere My Love to be found that is true to the written music in 4/4 time. Everybody else plays this song like a waltz in 3/4 time.
+Joseph Pingel This album is suited to fans of both as it includes both the correct rendition and a waltz version (19:10) , so we get the best of both worlds here.
Who's still playing this in 2021 like me? I guess we all have our own 'Lara' deep inside in our hearts. Memories of those far-off day? Memories tinged with sadness ? Reminiscences and Memories crowded your mind? Long lost friend? or heyday of your life? I want hear your stories. Leave your beautiful stories at my door I'll leave them for the one who waits behind. Somewhere my love..
Una consulta,. Porque no nos Regalan la Excibicion de la Película Completa Del Doctor Zhibago, no creen que sería un Gran Acierto... Muchas Gracias..... Alejandro Alex.
Classic and beautiful movies like 'Doctor Zhivago' one are not made anymore! Today only mindless and super violent action movies are shown everywhere, scrambling peoples minds to accept violence as 'normal'! -
+Erina Papaspyrou I'm going to make the assumption that there is a stereo version out there since there were many records in the sixties that also had stereo versions released; it just so happens the version I had was the Mono version, the only other Dr Zhivago Record I have managed to add to my collection is the original music from the film.
If the LP is still in good condition, I suggest adding a record deck to your music setup.. CDs with their limited high frequency range do not do this music justice. I had this proven to me when my sister played a CD of Nana Mouskouri then played the same song on a record.
God Damn, piss me off again, I go in for dandruff, and he talks of live love and death and daffodils in the winter snow, Piss me off. Just piss me off.
Good film this is seen it before am not paying to watch full film on UA-cam I pay for data so why pay them to watch full film it's all wrong this i think
What alot people do not know that Boris Pasternak has Ukrainian roots from a city of Odessa. He even attended a military school of Ukrainian Greek Catholic. There's a British connection also the Pasternaks of Oxford some ancestors are still alive. The surname Pasternak is Ukrainian and not Russian yes they were Jewish but to hide their true thoughts became Christian.
Russia is a land of sad stories from tolstois anna karenina to pasternak dr. Zhivago. It was more sad when pasternak was not allowed to receive his nobel prize in literature by the communists. Now putin is another sad episode in russian history.
I have this soundtrack and I don't know why but it sounds horrible. Not the music but the recording. It sounds flat almost as if it is in mono. I've had previous versions which sounded much better to the ear.
MGR1900 Well you almost got it, This is in fact an original 1960's Mono copy of the album, back in the day records like this would usually be released in both Stereo and Mono due to not many people having Stereo machines so if they tried to play a Stereo record on their Mono machines it would only play one side of the song (and trust me that sounds terrible) so Mono adapted versions like this were a good solution to the problem.
A lovely stereo transfer of this album can be heard here: ua-cam.com/video/cV7-FSyl71s/v-deo.html

Goodbye Uncle Omar. :(
This was his most glorious of movies. His eyes when he can't get Lara to hear him on the bus (trolly?)!

He was the greatest among all Artists GOD BLESS HIM in heaven.

My grandmother's favorite. She had a music box with a dancing Russian that played Lara's theme. I still have it.
I have the original album, original soundtrack unsurpassed. Original movie the best, at age 13 and now in my 60's. remains probably the best movie in my time, it is the Gone with the Wind of my generation

My mother had the album the original I would lay down in front of the record player on the floor on the carpet

Fantastic soundtrack. The brass climax of the last song is just the best.

There is! I have an LP of this very release with this cover. The stereo version is wonderful and not too rare!
