Thokoza Gogo I agree with you, when I was young as when we had flu my dad would take us to the traditional healer not the clinic so the sangoma said to me child you need to go to your mom's family things will open up he didn't say I must change the surname. As I grew I would come across people telling me to pray about the surname.In 2018 some guy at work said to me please speak with your uncle from the paternal side I don't think you are using the right surname, did that and learnt of something I didn't know. 3 years ago a Healer told me the same thing but also mention that nothing is broken as you still have everything you have meaning the ancestors for that surname did not reject you but how you Phahla is what should change he guided me on how to do it and still include my father's( So called) surname which also turned out to be the stepfather's surname
