Congratulations, you made the right decision, the Thai partner has many more rights than foreigners have in Thailand. Practically no permanent visa, maximum 365 days, every 90 days for the police report, no right to acquire land and soil for the foreigner...... at retirement age a very official surcharge on treatment costs in all hospitals of up to 400% for old foreigners, in many places, museums, temples, nature parks, etc. much higher entrance fees than for Thai citizens. Even train tickets can be times more expensive. Also no discount on buses in Bangkok .. which Thais aged 65 and over always get. So stay in Australia, everyone there is treated equally and has the same rights... Work permits are not guaranteed by marriage and there is no same-sex permit in 2023. There are a large list of which foreigners, often referred to here as ALIENS, are not allowed to practice at all... As a foreigner, even if you are not married to a Thai person, you always have to have 800,000 TB in your account, which in practice can only be freely used when you are dead... You can see there are huge differences, don't let the constant smile fool you. Thailand is not Australia, nor Europe or the USA... you are and will be happy with a kangaroo in the garden and a cockatoo on the roof...
For a relationship you need much more than looks, even with all the attractiveness in the world you cannot make people like you for staying with you for years only based on looks, and even if you get it, it would be shallow af and not going to last
