I'll explain the headlight positioning dial for you (the numbers one). When you have passengers in the back of your car or heavy luggage in the boot, the rear of your car gets pushed downwards which lifts the front of your car upwards and the angle of your headlights upwards (like a see-saw). Therefore that dial switch enables you to point your headlights downwards to the road (3 being pointed downwards, 0 being normal) to prevent your headlights shining upwards into oncoming drivers eyes.

I used to drive a 2002 Vauxhall Corsa. If I can remember mine was a 3 door SXI and manual gear box it was actually my sister's first car when she was learning to drive in it and same for me. It was a reliable car for me for a long time the only issue was that my parents were wanting a 5 door car so the 2010 Vauxhall Astra Activ was an upgrade. Now I'm currently driving a 2010 Hyundai i20

That's a pretty enviable insurance price! The automatic is a deal breaker, but it seems like a nice typical first car.
Technically it's a Semi-automatic gearbox, which can be driven manually as well as full auto. Vauxhall calls this easytronic, very reliable mated with timing chain 1.2 16 valve engine. It's a cracking car!
The light adjuster is for when you have heavy load in your boot, as this would raise your headlights up 😁
The reason you can adjust headlight beam height is so if you have a boot full of heavy stuff , the front of your car obviously goes up ,so you need to level the lights so you don't blind oncoming traffic .
I was just thinking about buying my first car but ive started having seizures so I am not allowed to drive anymore until I go through all my tests in hospital as they are now worried I have had 3 seizures in the past 6 months :'(

I have recently passed the driving test and I bought this exact same car, but I was so excited and realized after buying that my version of Car does not have A/C :/ other than that, its a good car. I may sell after 5, 6 months just because of A/C :-|
Tip on knowing which side of your car is the petrol tank cap, on your dashboard there's an arrow next to the fuel logo, the arrow tells you which side of your car it is. 👍
My insurance is like £750 a year and my tax is something like £200 a year. Love my little car Miguel though and wouldn't change him for the world even though he's getting a bit old now :)
Abigail Jones - just keep it serviced every year and get a thicker oil put in and you won't need to worry about the age of your car.my Yaris is 18 years old 140,000 miles lol runs nice

yaris sr man 110,000 miles and a slight visible sign of a leak Wouldn't a thicker oil help with that? Not using any Oil atm though Next car will be a Toyota 💪

One reliable Corsa, we had one a 3 door blue and had never let us down in all weather conditions, my wife even passed her test with it. Great car!
Would you recommend this car? I've been looking at getting a cheap auto,05 reg with 50,000 miles for £800. I've heard things about the semi-auto gearbox? What are your thoughts
@@brentwatts6130 yes definitely, of course granting there's no existing issues with the gearbox. We had sold ours and it had 80k plus miles and it was faultless, I drove it most times in manual mode and it was fantastic, avoid the 1.0 though as its gutless and ridiculously slow. The 1.2 is 16 valve so it's got power. 05 reg with 50k miles sounds like a bargain to me, just ensure there's no nasty leaks and does not smoke.
Thanks mate! I've seen mixed opinions on the semi-auto gearbox. I will only use it in auto mode. I'm not really bothered about feeling connected to a car like some people with manual. I just see it as a means of transport. I've seen the semi-auto corsas with 144,000 miles with them on. I would pick the conventional auto Corsa but it's higher in tax and fuel than over the semi auto
@@brentwatts6130 no worries mate, same thing that put me off with buying the full auto, tax is ridiculous and less economical. Hardly any new cars these days have conventional auto gearboxes either due to same reasons. If you commute a lot of miles I can also recommend Mitsubishi Colt diesel 1.5 DID coupled with 6 speed gearbox, its a beast of a little car bags of torque and fast as well, not many about though.
@@jeremycubs8331 I've noticed a lot of new cars with the - and + with the auto boxes. I have been reading so many reviews tonight and a lot of negative reviews about the easytronic often hesitant to respond to gear changes, don't know what to think haha. I have been looking at the Mitsubishi colt, funny guy should say that

Nice video! When you're figuring out what side the petrol cap is on the car, a lot of cars will have an arrow pointing left or right, telling you which side the fuel cap is on :)
Its mad how different your auto gear box is. My corsa is automatic but it doesnt need to break pressing on start and has diffefent settings P N D R 1 2 3 gears all in a row. I get sick of people saying i dont actually drive "Properly" cause its automatic.... but its amazing id never get a manual car again. I love my auto! Are you getting another car?? Xx

1 you can connect the stereo up properly so that steering controls work and 2 your car tells you with side to fill up on the dashboar

Ha I had that same car as my first car only a 2003 version. Automatic too. It was a good car. Was glad to replace it though as it ended up costing more to repair than it did to buy.
Also I had the same issue with my interior light and had to get the mechanic to help me out.

bethvg this is the Corsa B, by the sounds of it you have the Corsa C. Possibly even a different spec, design / sxi / sri.
AstonSam I'm sure this is the Corsa c. my 53 plate looked different to the 55 plate one inside.corsa b was 1993 - 2000. Corsa c 2000 - 2006. And Corsa a was actually the nova

Yeah I do, I have a manual driving license and drove a manual car for the first year and a half, but never really enjoyed driving because of the gears. So I knew my first car would be an automatic :)

Yes, electronic and it's lighter at low speed for parking etc then weights up at higher speeds so you don't go veering all over the place.
