  • WEAR HEADPHONES to experience 'immersive media' and the unique ringing patterns of Orthodox KOLOKOL church bells.
The founding of the VLADYCHNY women's convent dates back to the 14th century. Along with other monasteries, churches, and shrines, it's located near the confluence of two rivers in Serpukhov, Russian Federation, an hour-and-a-half south of Moscow.
To get a perspective of where the audio recording was made, that's Don Hill sitting inside the monastery's courtyard (on the extreme right of the picture); the microphones are in his ears. Thanks to Igor Florinsky for taking the photographs.
The 'binaural audio' recording was made 06 June 2017.
