Outstanding that you've expanded the capabilities and still have not overwhelmed the casual user and added features needed by demanding pilots. User friendly is why I use this EFB.
All sorts of new goodness! I like the airspace warnings, and I am *really* looking forward to synching the flight plans, and changes to the flight plans, from my “flying iPad,” my “planning iPad,” and online. I’m also excited that it has already been approved for public release, so it isn’t vaporware for the next few months. Y’all should have a really good Airventure with this.
I'm happy to see such significant enhancement to the product since the acquisition by AFV. Without any information provided about future roadmap since the acquisition, I've been worried about the lack of new capabilities and competitiveness of the product going forward. This is a good step toward alleviating those concerns, though it really would be good to see what's in store for the future, even without dates, to further help demonstrate commitment to adding new capabilities. These new features in 6.0 look like great additions to FlyQ EFB. The digital map looks awesome and looks it will make track-up mode much more usable with right-side up text. I look forward to using that, as well as the new alerting capabilities. Both of these features improve situational awareness and safety to both VFR and IFR pilots. But I'm saddened to hear no mention of my #1 enhancement request: database management. We really need the ability to pre-download the next cycle to avoid issues with having to wait until the "day of". I hope that's in the pipeline! Mike
Interested but still have questions...Can this flight plan synch to and from the panel, e.g an Avidyne 440? can this do split screen with Avidyne 100 app on the iPad? (not your in app split screen) Both of these things I know FF can do.
Hi. Yup, you can synch plans w/ the 440. In FlyQ's Plans tab, tap the Action button (box with an arrow) and select the Avidyne option when you're connected to the 440's WiFi. We do not currently support the iPad split-screen mode you're talking about.
I like the graphics, but the placement of the floors and ceilings of class Bravo airspace are mal-positioned on the digital layer in many locations. In my opinion, that particular component should be removed until it is fixed. Right now, I just overlay on top of a VFR map and ignore the numbers on the digital overlay to be sure.
Interesting point. We'll have a look at improving it. Thanks for the feedback. If you could email specific examples to support@seattleavionics.com, the dev team can have a look ASAP.
@@FlyQEFB I did as a beta tester but did not receive a reply. For examples, check out the Orlando class bravo. The 3000 floor on the east side is displayed where there is actually a 900ft floor. At the south side, there is a 1600 floor on the digital overlay where there is actually a 900ft floor. Etc. Good luck!
The video would not have been made live if it wasn't imminent but some marketing material is still being finished. It has already been approved by Apple for public release.
You guys did it again! Fantastic additions! Just updated the app to 6.0 today and I’m loving it!!!

Love the new update. Question, I had talked to people in you booth during OSH 2019 about an HSI overlay, any chance that feature is being worked on?
This is great! thank you.

Does fly Q have flight sim option so I can use it on my Microsoft flight sim
If the past is any indication it will be 6 to 9 months before it is released.
When is it available?

@@FlyQEFB Wonderful news. Looking forward to using the features.
@@FlyQEFB 7/18, Still hasn't been released...
Released just now. Can take up to 24 hours for all users to see the update appear for them.
The update is downloading to my iPad now.
