      joshua guzman hahaha yea it is. I’m reviewing for my commercial checkride now and it gets easier the more you keep reviewing them and especially how they apply to situations that are discussed in certain operations. That’s what really cleared it up for me..repetition

    I like how you tie the airspace shape and the class info to what we see on the charts. Very helpful. To all teachers, it is easier to remember if we know the “why”.

    Very comprehensive and well narrated video, with excellent special effects, especially on the sectionals. Seeing a few dislikes on a video like this only supports my supposition that there are UA-cam trolls that just go through and thumbs down everything, because that's who they are.

    Congratulations!, you have the best video explaining Class C and D airspace; You explain very simple and complete all the issue. I haven’t understood the airspace in any other video. So I am waiting for the other airspaces like B, A, E and G, please!

    Thank you for the professional-grade instruction AND production. If you could pick a "trendy" topic for a similarly well-produced video, you'd blow up on UA-cam. Try "How to apply eye-liner," perhaps.

      Thanks for the feedback and kind words! I'm afraid my eye-liner skills are not up to par with my airspace and aviation knowledge, but I'll definitely keep it in mind!

    If you can note for studies: I see a black circle 30 NM which does not exactly set on the same TCA shown on VFR Charts?

  • @DanFrederiksen
    @DanFrederiksen 5 років тому

    FAA has the charts for download as geotiff (xnview can convert) but is there a vector/GIS version of the maps or digital era styled maps? because they are a mess to look at and can be much cleaner.

    In the second chart concerning Louisville, does the fact there is magenta shading make it controlled spaced at 700 AGL even though the outer shell doesn’t start until 1200 AGL?

    • @PilotRight
      @PilotRight  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment / question! If I understand your question correctly, the magenta shading indicates class E airspace extending down to 700' AGL. Below that is then class G airspace to the surface. In the video, the sectional chart I used does show the class E to 700' AGL (the magenta shading) at the same radius as the class C. So starting from the ground under the 10nm shelf you would be 1. In class G at the surface up to 700' AGL. 2. At 700' AGL it would turn into class E and extend up to the bottom of the class C shelf. 3. At 1700' MSL to the south or 2200' MSL to the north you would then be in the bottom of class C.
      Also I want to make note the sectional I used to make the video is fairly outdated. The newest section and airspace information is slightly different around KSDF.
      I hope this makes sense! Please feel free to post any additional questions. You can also email me at info@pilotright.com and I'll be happy and clarify anything else.

    Is a radius counted from tower or NAVAID ?

    • @PilotRight
      @PilotRight  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the question and comment! Usually the radius for the airspace around and airport is measured / starts from the center of the airport itself. Occasionally a NAVAID / VOR will also be located there, but the airport itself will be where the airspace starts from. Check your VFR sectional for the actual dimensions and layout. Hope this helps. Thanks!

    What’s up with the identifier “November 1234”??? NO ONE states the N at the beginning of the tail number. Good video on dimensions and graphics, but not so much for the communications.

    • @knockg7266
      @knockg7266 5 років тому +1

      The "N" is dropped if the aircraft manufacturer's name or model is used: HAWK N666CB would be called out as HAWK SIX SIX SIX CHARLIE BROVO and after ATC contact it would be shortened to SIX CHARLIE BROVO (or so I believe as I study for Part 107 test!).
