Bettie Cormier, a Postdoctoral research fellow at NTNU, shares insights from her research on microplastics and their impacts on the environment.
Plastics including microplastics (less than 5 mm) have been categorized as emerging pollutants particularly in the marine environment. Bettie’s research focuses on studying the toxicity of microplastics on aquatic organisms. Her research investigates the degradation of plastics into microplastics, and the toxicity of microplastics associated with additives in relation to pollutants.
