I know you weren't asking but it's probably because the series 0 set a whole new standard for wearable technology at the time. I do know that I was super hyped when it first came out. I still have my series 0 sport edition (cheap version, I know). I don't use it anymore but I still have it and it still works. I just don't use it anymore because I switched to Samsung 6 years ago and currently have the galaxy watch 5. It's nice to get my old watch out every once in awhile and reminisce about the times when smart watches were considered futuristic. I don't HATE Apple I just dislike how they force what they think you want and how they force what they think is better for you instead of letting you make that choice for yourself. Some people are okay with that but I personally prefer having more control of my device. My mom likes apple because it's more simple which is fair but a little annoying because of certain ios/android barriers since my dad, my brother, my grandma and I have a Samsung phone and my mom is the odd one out with an iPhone lol. (Sorry for the paragraph)
